Had 3 pieces done by Nichole in 2020 and she was able to share the tattoo sketches ahead of time bc I don't live close to the shop. I reached out to her recently to get another piece done and she was short/rude, took forever to respond and refused to meet me halfway on sharing the sketch ahead of time. Instead she said i could come in the day before... which meant me driving out to beaverton and back two days in row (waste of gas and time). I have sent so many referrals too... it's mind-blowing to me that this is how you would your loyal consumers. I highly recommend getting tatted somewhere else... I cried after I got home and took picture of my Anchor tattoo. It was some years ago done by a man in the shop in which I forgot the name. The lining was bad. I got depressed after the tattoo for a long time. Finally, I found the strength to come up and post a review today! I have ink on my entire body and this was the worst tattoo. The line was crooked and the ink broke under my skin indicating the technique in depositing the ink was wrong! The artist gave my boyfriend a discount after the work because he knew he messed up! I tried so hard to be nice but after 2-3 years I still want to cry everytime I look back at it because it's so bad and it's on my neck. I broke up with my ex because he introduced me to such a horrifying experience. I will have to have it covered up even if I have to black out my entire neck. It was one of the couple tattoos we got. While lining up my ex's neck, he crooked the tattoo in which I reminded him but he got mad! My words to the person who hold up the tattoo gun to ink me 2 years ago: just because you hold it up and know how to run it doesn't make you an artist, just because of a couple hundreds bucks you hurt me intensely because tattooing is holy to me and I treat it as a religion. I wanted a tattoo of the dates of my wife's death and called Canyon BodyArt and a nice woman said I should come in that afternoon to make an appointment for the next day, so I took a cab to the place (which cost me $20) and as soon as I opened the door some man there told me only people being actively tattooed could be in there and I told him I just wanted to drop off some art and make an appointment (I was fully masked) but he practically shoved me out the door. Whoever this guy was it's the worst I've ever been treated in ANY establishment so he definitely cost them some business now and for any future ink I might want. Now I have an appointment at another more highly rated place. I'm not surprised they didn't make the Top Tatoo shops in the area list. read more

Everybody here is super cool! The people are a little quirky but I love them. I started going there when my tragus (I had gotten it pierced somewhere else) was giving me trouble, to ask the piercer if he had any advice. Paul cleaned it for me every single day, for free and it has been doing great ever since. He was so great, I had him do my industrial piercing for me. He helped take care of that one too. I also got a tattoo there. Josh did an amazing job translating my logo to ink, and he draws a mad zipper. I'm very pleased with everything I've had done there. Worst tattoo experience I've ever had! I came in to get a simple tattoo in January and what I received was crap! What's even more shocking is that our artist said she was one of the owners. My sister and I came in for basic line work what we now have is blown lines because our tattoo artist went so deep into our skin. It's sucks because we've gone in before and had great work but the artist we used prior was no longer there. read more

I got my second tattoo here Chelsea was offering up magical girl tattoos which I was all for. The design was simple enough I was sure it couldn't get screwed up. Not on is the art bad the the experience was horrible. I know tattoos hurt but it hurt way more than it should. It was more swollen than it should have been when it was done. I'm pretty sure she was digging too deep with the needle. It stings like hell even hours later and after cleaning it. The worst part was during the process I started crying and shaking cause it hurt so much she kept going and afterwards said rudely "it was like tattooing someone having a seizure" like there was nothing wrong Did I Mention the piece it's self is poorly done? The coloring/shading is sad and the line art isn't much better. The red is barely there. Also a paper towel and two strips of medical tape does not count of a bandage As soon as it heals I'm getting it fix maybe even covered up by a better artist my friend goes to read more

I have 6 tattoos, and I can say this place was not great. I initially got a tattoo with the outline of the state of Michigan (my home state) on my inner right ankle back in 2009 in a town near to where I was going to college. I moved back to Beaverton in 2010, and in 2011 I believe it was, I decided to add Oregon (my 2nd home state) to the left inner ankle. The outline ended up being too thin and faded in a few places. It was just not a quality job. I kept meaning to come back to make the artist correct her work but the shop really didn't feel that clean and the artist wasn't that personable. I will probably ask someone I trust to fix it down the road, likely when I get my next piece done. I know that this can vary by artist, but unfortunately it was so long ago I can't recall her name. I was just not impressed, I mean, we live in Oregon, and I know that the state outline is very common amongst others my age, how do you mess that up? Of the 6, it's the one I like the least, I think because of the awkward outlining done. It just needs some help. Luckily, I don't think it is something that cannot be fixed. read more

I came in at 6pm (hour prior to close) just hoping to browse portfolios. I was greeted by a friendly gentleman named Morgan who helped me out. I knew I wanted a daisy tattoo and did my best to describe what I wanted. Morgan made himself available right then and there to sketch up a design and tattoo it on me that night! He was spot on. He was very accommodating and kind. Both my husband and I felt very comfortable with him and were impressed with his talent. Morgan worked an hour after close and stayed true to his quote. Got my tattoo there back in 2007- and I still love it :) The tattoo artist thought it was a boring tattoo and made some suggestions and met in the middle on it and I was happy that he still did what I wanted. I got 2 brown stars on my hip bone- I love the fade he suggested- they look kinda like when you burn the edges of paper/ antiqued. I'm still glad I didn't get another color as he suggested- I love it just the way it is. I want more tats but I am waiting until I come back to the area so I can get them done there :) read more

Don't go to Ami for ink. You'll regret it. She's really nice, but she does awful work. Bad lines, worse shading. I'm embarrassed to show the tattoo that she put on me. Spend the extra few dollars and go elsewhere. That's much better than scrambling to find a good cover-up artist. read more

I came into this disease factory to inquire about a ring tattoo, when the guy with crumbs in his beard told me how it was going to be done, regardless of what I wanted....I was done. It's my tattoo, and if your skill set won't allow you to do something, fine. Please don't though, try and turn it into a me thing. Adorn Body Art was happy to do it, and do it right. I just came in to get a tat and got mine done by Chelsea. I had a really good experience. We had a great conversation, she was engaged and more than happy to work with me to make sure that tattoo was exactly what I wanted. I think maybe folks who have some of these complaints haven't gotten tattooed much before. Tattoos can hurt, a lot, depending on what you get done. If that isn't what you think you're signing on for, maybe you need to remember that tattoos are made with needles--it's not going to feel like a walk in the park! Also, I'm not sure what folks are comparing their tattoos to when they say things like "it was way more swollen than it should have been." I've gotten a lot of tattoos [more than twenty] and the tattoos all swelled very differently depending on where on my body they were located, how thick the lines were, etc. I've definitely had tattoos that didn't hurt as badly as these did, but at the same time, those were the tattoos whose ink faded a week or two after I got the tattoo. Personally, I would rather have slightly more pain right off the bat than to have to return for a second or third shot because the person doing the tattooing was being overly gentle. It's a tattoo, not a surgery. Delicacy and practicality are a fine balance to strike, but for a tattoo, I would rather the artist make sure the tat is going to stick! Also, I've personally gotten a lot of outline pieces done; they have ALL faded with time, usually in more than one place. I don't know what kind of magic ink y'all expect to get, but the fading? Usually is just kind of what happens, in my experience. I also was very reassured and pleasantly surprised by the lack of naked women posters and artwork on the walls. This shop felt very welcoming and very safe to me as a woman, which almost never happens in a tattoo shop [actually, this is the first one in which this has been the case]. I was also pleased by how professional Chelsea was. I really don't want or need an artist who rushes over and makes me feel like I'm at home; I want a professional who knows how to do her job swiftly and safely. Chelsea clearly does. As far as bandages go, I don't think it matters much to the healing process whether you cover the tat initially with a paper towel and tape as opposed to with a bandage. I've had both and I haven't noticed a strong difference in fading, or infection, or anything like that. I would suggest that some of y'all think strongly about how much control you have over your own experiences. If you need the artist to stop, don't expect her to guess that's what you need; use your voice and ask her to stop! If you don't like the outline as it is drawn, ask her to change it BEFORE it goes on your body! If you make the decision to get it done a certain way, though, and then realize later on that wasn't what you wanted, that's your fault. One of the things I appreciated most about this shop is that Chelsea did not treat me like a child or an incompetent. She asked me if I needed an aftercare sheet; when I said no, she trusted my word. She let me position the tattoo myself and asked me specific questions regarding what I wanted. To me, that's the best thing a tattoo artist can do--try to ask the right questions, and let the client figure out what we want and then verbalize it. If you cannot tell your artist what you want in the moment, including whether you need a break or not, you have no business getting a tattoo. It is not her job to do these things for you, because she is not your parent. Have some boundaries, people--and have some self-respect. read more
