While Chef Mark was a pleasant and personable individual, this was absolutely not a cooking class…read more-- it was a demonstration at best. The "class" was held in the middle of a busy pub where music was playing, customers were talking and laughing, and people were actively playing darts and pool. There was no microphone, so we could barely hear the instructor. Calling this a class under those conditions is completely misleading. We were expected to roll dough on small high-top pub tables, which was impractical and uncomfortable. Due to the setup, we couldn't even clearly see the sauce being made. There was no structured, hands-on instruction -- just trying to catch bits and pieces of what was happening in a loud bar environment. To make matters worse, the finished pasta was served in a small Styrofoam bowl with a plastic fork -- not even a napkin provided. The dish itself was bland and underwhelming. This experience was given as a gift, which makes it even more embarrassing. It felt disorganized, misleading and like a complete waste of money. A cooking class should be interactive, educational and conducted in an environment where participants can actually hear and learn -- not in the middle of a noisy pub during business hours. Extremely disappointing. Not at all what we expected. Update: Received no direct message

Took the "class" on basic pasta making with pasta sauce…read more   Location:   Sitting at a pub table in a bar.  (the on tap beer I had was the highlight of the evening) Cooking utensils:   Plastic cutting board and plastic knife.     Recipe:  some flour. An egg or two. Some oil. (was supposed to be salt too, but the instructor forgot that) Instructions:   Make a well in the flour and mix in the egg and oil as needed.   Flatten it out and make whatever shape you want.    Whoops:  just revealed all the secrets and techniques of the class.   Of the dozen or so people there, not sure anyone made anything remotely edible.   Half the people didn't even attempt to boil their lumps of flattened flour.    But if they did, there was some jarred sauce and kraft shredded cheese to have with it.   (Ad mentioned making a sauce. I didn't even get to open the jar!) I really just don't even know what to make of this "class."    I put class in quotes as it was held in a bar with no cooking utensils, no recipe, no real instruction. I guess think of it as a spam phone call.  Sure, when you get that call you can buy an extended warranty, but would you?   There are some good cooking classes available in Orlando.   This is not one of them.

I recently needed a cake, last minute, for my sister's graduation from medical school! I decided to…read morego with Sofelle Cake Artistry because she had nothing but 5 star reviews on google reviews and the wedding websites and everyone seemed pretty satisfied with the flavor. I discussed with Lucy and put my order in for my rather large one tier cake on a Monday, confirmed and paid for that night, and picked it up on a Thursday morning. I don't know many cake artists who would have put up with me! Let's talk flavor: I live in Miami and I was not able to come in to pick flavors so I read the reviews, and decided to go with the Vanilla Cake, Dulce de Leche, and butterscotch buttercream purely on a whim even though the Champaign Raspberry seemed to be the most popular review. I am pleased to report that it was AMAZING!! The buttercream was soooooooo smooth and the butterscotch wasn't over powering, just delicate enough to let the dulce shine and marry with the soft and delightful vanilla cake. It was truly delicious! Even the fondant was yummy and I NEVER eat the fondant. The design was perfect! She gave me some options and we tweaked them and she delivered!!!!! The party was a hit and so was the cake. My sister received many compliments on her Instagram about how "bomb" her cakes looked. It tasted bomb too. Lucy is SO sweet and such a pleasure to work with!! I would recommend her without reservation to anyone, and I am a VERY difficult person to please when it comes to food. I only accept top notch, and she really delivered. THANK YOU LUCY!!!!
