Maybe I got here on the right night (Good Friday) but I don't think so. I ordered the pork chop that was marinated in maple syrup. It was one of the best pork chops I've ever eaten. The mashed potatoes were delish as were the carrots (not done to that horrible hardness that was prevalent 10 years ago) and in a terrific gravy. There was a choice of salad or beef & cabbage soup, I ordered the soup. Again a great choice, full bodied and very tasty, and not what you think of when offered cabbage. We just stopped here on Saturday afternoon for lunch. They were closed and we almost left. The owner came out and said they would serve us. The food was awesome and the service was unbelievable. The drink list is 6 pages long. I can't say enough about the hospitality of the owner. He treated my kids like family and made us feel right at home. I had open face flat steak and it was incredible. My kids got chicken Parmesan sandwich and my wife got turkey avocado. The food was the best this is a classy place to eat. We will be back many times. read more

Totally unexpected surprise! Had to drop off a pair of shoes at Tony's Shoe Repair in Westfield and smelled the wonderful aroma from around the corner - couldn't pass it up. Warm, inviting pub atmosphere with attentive and friendly service. We sat at the bar; Brandon took great care of us! The chicken florentine sandwich was wonderful, but the turkey club was spectacular with in-house roasted turkey sliced extra thick - just as though it was after thanksgiving! Very cheap with salad toppings and overpriced for where this place is. Overcharged us on the bill afterwards and couldnt explain the extra charge. We were told to "prove it" by bringing in the bill which wasnt even on us from being on a trip. We knew it wasnt that much, and could add up all we ordered. They were very gruff and didnt care. Under new ownership now. We had frequented this place but it looks like that will be changing. Service was horrible. New owners don't even greet people and thank them for their business. Bartender was unfriendly as well. Food took over an hour to come out. I overheard the couple at the next table saying what is taking so long. Turned out they lost their order. I have traveled sixty miles from Buffalo N.Y to Brazill's on Main St. three times in the last six months. Every time the food has been incredible, service top notch and bartender well versed in wine options .As good as it gets in Western New York. read more

I really want to rate this restaurant higher because they have the opportunity to be a really fine restaurant in this community. Because the restaurant is so new, they are still working out some logistics. First - and for many this will be critical - they don't offer a single vegetarian entree. How easy could that be? Now they offered to make up something - pasta, vegetables and pesto. With all if the other innovative items on the menu, that's a sad substitution for a comparable option. The food we did have - side dishes from entrees for my vegetarian friend and the scallops for me - were flavorful and well presented. Our waiter was extremely nice and knew that the menu offered challenges for a vegetarian and did what he could to accommodate. The second issue then was the timing of the appetizers from the kitchen. They weren't even ready to be delivered to the table until after our entrees had been served. By then it would have been too late to get them and although they sounded good - we had moved to the next portion of the meal. We both had pie for dessert and enjoyed the blueberry and peach and blueberry slices. They need to add some options to the menu and work in their timing. I would go back if I return to the area but will look forward to hearing if my friend who lives locally is able to go back when they offer innovative vegetarian choices. read more

Drove to Westfield just for lunch here. To bad we were invisible to the waitress. She only returned to our table to leave the check. Poorly trained or maybe management doesn't care. Another person on staff brought husband dressing that she delivered with none. Another person took our plates. Sad because we like it there. Hope management reads reviews. Our waitress was not to busy to hang at bar and talk to people, she just couldn't make it back to our table. Her tip reflected her service. read more

This is supposed to be the up and coming dining venue in Western New York. The purpose of this review is to reveal that the perception and the reality are far from close. Tonight, my husband and I went to Brazilles for dinner after calling five days in advance for a reservation. We got a voice mail message and left all of our contact information and a time for dinner this evening at 7pm. We DID NOT receive a confirmation phone call but we also DID NOT receive a phone call to inform us that this may or many not be a solid reservation. If a restaurant does not intend to take reservations via voice mail, then there needs to be a message stating that or there should not be the opportunity to leave a message to this effect. We arrived this evening for our 7pm reservation. Of course, our name did not appear on the their reservation list and the hostess was uncomfortable in conveying this. She asked when we called and we told her. She then proceeded to ask for the phone number that was used in making the reservation. We provided that. She went over to the bar (less than 15 feet from where we were standing) and spoke to the proprietor about our situation. His response and pomposity are the reason for this review. He looked over right at us (but did not acknowledge us) and shook his head in a "no" fashion. The hostess walked over to us and told us that they could not seat us for dinner. My husband asked if she was saying that they could not accommodate us at all and she nodded in affirmation. He asked about the fact that we had called and made the reservation to which she replied, "I am not the one in charge". At this point, the proprietor was already onto his next task. Blowing off a customer took him less than five seconds and zero thought after the fact. Isn't that great? We have given Brazille's five opportunities since learning about them. There was ONLY ONE occasion where we were seated and the service and food contributed to the overall experience. The other four occasions were riddled with poor service, late food, owner apathy and a general sense that customers really do not matter. The place seems to be doing well so real service is not necessary in the eyes of the owner. He is just cashing in on the seemingly rich gravy train. Tonight, after being turned away in arrogance by the owner, we called the Hare and the Hound in Bemus Point, to convey our situation and to see if they could accommodate us for dinner. They did so with pleasure and professionalism, both qualities absent from Brazilles. We had a fabulous dinner and service at the Hare and the Hound, as is ALWAYS the case. It appears that this establishment and proprietor don't believe that the Chautauqua visitors who are not here year round really matter. It is a great country where you can just flick off part of your customer base. As such, my husband and I will be taking every opportunity available to share our experience with the neighbors and friends that we have established here at Chautauqua over the past twelve years. We sure hope that those who live here year round provide enough stability to sustain a restaurant business. read more

For an area sadly lacking in any sort of decent food beyond burgers and pizza, Brazill's is a bright spot. The re-purposed interior space has a lot of character. Greenery in the front window shields the "storefront" from the sidewalk creating a more cozy dining room. There is a small bar for seating and several larger sized tables for groups in addition to the rest of the four-tops. Now about the food. We visited at lunchtime during the Fall. The lunch menu has a number of tasty hot sandwiches and a few salad choices. At our table, the Reuben, Chicken Parmigiana and the Flat Iron Steak sandwiches were all ordered. The steak was delicious and perfectly cooked to my Med Rare request. Other diners in my party gave high marks to the other sammies. The Sunchoke Potato Soup of the Day was interesting but slightly bland. Service is friendly and prompt. I would definitely return during the Chautauqua season next year as this restaurant comes closest to big city food than any other in the area. read more

Greed at the door, seated immediately. Water served before we even asked! Both of us enjoyed a tasty appetizer with wild mushroom goat cheese crostini before our fresh salad was served. I have never used yelp before but feel compelled to do so based on the treatment our table received from the proprietor. The wait staff was friendly and attentive, and our appetizer for the table was very good. I ordered the shrimp and pasta dish, as did another member of the group. The shrimp were very tough, and my fork would not even pierce them. The pasta was gummy. The sauce was, however, delicious. We had hoped that, by bringing this to the attention of our waiter, we could have the flaws in the dish corrected and enjoy what should have been a delectable entree. Instead, what we got was the owner telling us that the chef is someone he has been sleeping with for a long time and that she has been a chef for 37 years - all around the world -- and that we were simply wrong about our assessment of the meal. Totally taken aback and shocked that there was absolutely no acknowledgement that we might, as the customer, have a legitimate complaint, we were instead basically told we were culinary idiots. Another shocking comment was that they had served at least 12,000 of this particular entree and NO ONE has ever complained. This was a totally ridiculous experience that ruined an evening out with friends that I hadn't seen in over a year. read more

We stopped in at the recommendation of a local friend and were not sorry that we did. Though we did have a little issue with our young waitress - it was quite busy and she had only been there three weeks and she forgot to bring our appetizer and was late in bringing the dinner wine - the remaining experience was great. It was in a wonderfully restored older building "on Main" Street. I had the swordfish and my wife had the scallops. Both were grilled to perfection, well-presented, and tasted fabulous. We were extremely impressed at how reasonable the prices were for the quality (and quantity) of food even compared to "the big city". Whatever you do, save room for desert. They "import" deserts from a local bakery and the pies were world-class. My wife said the "pee-can" pie she had was the best ever and I loved my strawberry rhubarb. We do hope to get back there soon and highly recommend it. Do call ahead for reservations on weekends. read more
