It is now the end of September 2024 and he has not fixed the boat. He stopped communicating with me and I had no idea where my boat was for months. I begged him to do the work. II had to send him and his entire family "demand letters/intent to sue letters" and he showed up at my house today and dropped the boat of as he said "in the state in which he received it" so basically still broken and confirmed all the lies he told. He's had it for months and has done ZERO work on it. However, I don't know where he's had the boat for the past several months, but it's filthy and has clearly been left outside and not been taken care of so it's not in the same condition as which he got it. I'm certain when you hire a mechanic that is a binding contract saying that he is going to make the repairs. Obviously, if he couldn't fix it and didn't know how to fix it he should've said that months ago yet he continuously said that he was going to fix it. So six months later, its back here and in worse shape then when he got it. I'm going to follow through with our intent to sue and find another mechanic. Some may wonder why we let it go this far after all the being he was doing. Great question! He and his parents had a personal relationship with my father and it was my father that recommended him. So we tried to give him the benefit of the doubt, Look where that got us, two disabled veterans on a fixed income and we've lost months of money and the boats gone to crap and even worse than it was when he took it. We've paid months and months of money into this thing snd nothings fixed. I'm going to get on will deal with this now. HIRE AT YOUR OWN RISK! So, before you call Mikey to do work on your boat feel free to reach out to me. I have the past six months worth of communications/lack of communications with him. I also have text messages and emails about the condition of the boat and what he did/did not do which all turned out to be lies. I also have text messages saying that he was out of town and having family problems and where about 15 minutes from us partying fishing, riding tractors, riding horses doing all kinds of stuff except for fixing our boat. This is not some baseless bad review. He was given every chance to make it right. Now he will have to deal with it in court.

The mechanic I used took forever to fix it but the marina was so nice about everything. They transferred the slip, they checked in on me to see how I was doing, and I when I finally got the engine fixed (almost two moths later) they prorated my stay so I didn't have to pay another full month since I just a week into the next billing. Anytime I had a question they were there, whenever I needed services they were there, it was service with a smile since the day I bought the boat. The only reason I was there so long was because of the mechanic I used for the engine. It was not their mechanic. It's a special engine so it needed a special mechanic. I want to be clear that the work was not being done by the marina. Services are pretty good, they have free electric and water. They'll get you ice, they have pump out and water fill up and they have a full staff working on your boat for almost any type of issue or service. If they don't do it they'll point you in the right direction. I'm glad to leave but sorry this isn't my forever marina, at this point I have been paying for two slips for a couple of months. Heads up, I understand getting out into the bay is trickery if you have a deep draft sailboat.

They also offer boat repairs, dry storage, and have a restaurant and bar on site. Facilities include bathrooms with showers, laundry room, and captains lounge. But afer new live aboard laws went into effect requiring pump out stations at each dock slip, this marina no longer offers live aboard wet slips. They do have water and electricity at each dock slip, and offer wi-fi. Overall nice, well kept, clean marina, with several amenities.

As I needed annual service on my wave runner I gave them a call. I asked "how much will annual service cost including replacement of the battery?" All the guy on the phone could tell me was "it shouldn't be that much." I told him to go ahead and schedule the service but that I wanted to be called with an estimate before any work was done. A couple of days later I received an invoice for over $2,000 (!!!!!). I immediately called and requested clarification- I waited and waited, called back multiple times and finally was able to talk with "customer service." They are insisting that $2000 is in line with their regular charge for annual service for a wave runner. If that is true I have ZERO idea how they remain in business. It took the certified technician 5.2 hours of time (labor charge)... I'm not a certified technician and could have easily done the job in 1/2 that time. Now they are trying to say that I authorized the service and I am responsible for the charges. I have contacted my credit card company and an attorney will be next. If anyone wants to join a class action lawsuit against this unscrupulous business we should get together and file.
