Sure enough, though he primarily had large engines in his shop, Dave said he could fix it in a matter of 30 minutes, if not less. He was very friendly and got it done in about 15 minutes. We only had $40 in cash available, so we asked the attendant there if that was okay and he said yes. My husband asked the attendant to assist with reading the pump since he could not see it while pumping the gas. The attendant agreed, but did not advise my husband on when to stop once the digits reached $40. The attendant finally warranted my husband at $80. That hiccup put us in the panic because we did not have the funding to pay the fee. The attendant and my husband went back and forth discussing the controversy but did not come to a any resolution. I asked the attendant if there was a way to accept a credit card without actually having the credit card and I was able to enter in my information manually to get the issue resolved. During this dilemma we ended up losing our boat gas cap somewhere along the process and ended up having to stuff the tank. At this point my husband was beyond livid and I was frustrated as well. Thankfully our trip had already come to an end and we were just trying to get back home, but this experience did not end the day well.
