Was excited going in, but ended up being disappointed. Tried the Fiesta Burrito with Chorizo, didn't find any flavor standing out.

This place has the best burritos!!! I only visit St. Cloud once, maybe twice a year, but this is a MUST-DO. My mouth waters when I think about it. There is no reason to go to one of the big chains when you have this place. So good. read more

this place has more choices and better food than chipotle! they have more than one choice of preparation style for each kind of meat (chicken, pork, beef) and several different salsas to choose from. the thing that keeps me going back is the fresh-squeezed grapefruit margaritas! AMAZING! each made with a whole grapefruit squeezed while you wait. while you wait. it's not quite as quick as chipotle but the food is worth a couple of more minutes- which is all that you will have to wait. oh, and the black bean/corn salad and nachos are unique and YUMMY! not much for the price, though. this place should be the first choice for anyone since it is locally owned and operated. before chipotle came to town there were more locations. however, the one that remains is the one closest to chipotle so i'm guessing it was something other than the competition that caused the other(s?) to close. love this place. sometimes they have live music which we LOVE. read more

About what you would expect from a burrito joint in St. Paul MN. Food was okay. The place looked like a bad parody of a Mexican cantina crossed with a Chipotle restaurant. Service was slow which is especially funny since the Chipotle like layout gives the appearance of quick food preparation. The staff seemed uninterested as the guy who was taking orders often had to be alerted to a customer at the counter since he was standing by the bar reading the paper. I would guess that the only reason this place survives is it is in a smaller town in MN and under the circumstances appears unique rather than simply poorly run. read more

Top notch burritos and tacos. When I have out of town guests this is where we go because the food is surprisingly GREAT all the time. We live nearby and it was highly recommended by locals when we first moved to St Cloud. The chicken mole is complex flavors and my favorite but all the burritos are big and tasty. Combo burrito with Beef Colorado, Chicken Mole and Carnitas = pure bliss. Three caveats 1) Don't complain to the owner, ever about anything, he is the burrito N_ _ I. I once made the mistake of asking why they didn't accept credit cards(they finally do now) and got a half hour lecture on a bank conspiracy against merchants. 2)Get the bravo habanero, on the side. Green sauce is for wimps. 3)Don't start by taking all the foil off like the greenhorns do, unless you want a huge mess. Order is important in a combo the driest meat needs to be down when holding the burrito vertically or you risk a blowout. read more

Great place! This is my favorite Mexican restaurant. It has a great selection - from loaded nachos as a snack to huge burritos for dinner, this place has something for everyone who loves Mexican food. Also, the bathroom is huge and very clean. I was super excited to try these burritos. I had passed by this establishment many, many times on my way to and from the cities. Being Latina (Granted, Puerto Rican but I know my flavors) I was expecting food full of flavor. I had read/heard many good things about their 'secret sauce recipe' so on top of expecting robust flavors in my burrito I also expected to have a kick butt condiment to compliment my food. I was so sadly disappointed after my first bite down. I've personally never tried cardboard but I'm pretty sure if I did it would probably have more flavor. The rice was bland. No seasoning, not even a hint of salt. Same deal with the beans and they can keep their sauce's secret because it was nothing to write home about. It saddens me to have to be so brutally honest. I'm sure many locals will disagree with my opinion but I just cannot bring myself to even give this place another shot. Admittedly, I'm a spoiled foodie, dad was a gourmet chef from the Caribbean and taught me everything he could about marrying flavors and using the proper spices on various meats and veggies. I also spent my winter months in the cities and attended the U of MN for undergrad and grad school where one could literally find any ethnicity of food their heart desired almost 24/7. It's not like this place is an anomaly. St. Cloud is a food desert in terms of, what I consider, decent or good food. We have to drive to Maple Grove in order to get anything remotely decent. Sorry, I'm not a fan. Even if it's Lent and a Friday, I'd fast before eating this again. For those who enjoy it, great! Just not for me. Cheers! read more

This place is pretty darn sweet. From the outside it doesn't look like much, but inside you quickly realize the expansiveness of their menu. They offer everything from burritos, tacos, nachos, fajitas and so much more. The same parallel is drawn once you receive the food- it looks like a plain burrito wrapped in foil- but it is so damn good on the inside. Also, The margaritas were perfectly blended. I've never dined in at Bravo Burrito until today, and after my experience today, I don't think I will ever again. I'll stick to delivery(not even to-go for me) because to me, the food is prime time. Our cashier was kind, efficient, and pleasant. That's where the good customer service ends. My boyfriend and I waited almost 30 minutes for our food. Normally, I would dismiss this in a high-traffic situation, but the restaurant was not even close to being full. But even then, not a big deal. In fact, I wasn't even grumpy about having to wait...I've worked customer service enough to know things may not always be running as smoothly as meets the eye. That is ok! The issue was what appeared to be the manager on duty and the way she talked to her employees. I looked around several times, convinced I was on "What Would You Do?" or another hidden camera show where I felt I needed to intervene. Yes, our choice of seating to eat was near the ordering area/kitchen. However, there is zero reason why I needed to hear anyone scream about dirty dishes and cheese not being filled to capacity and sarcastically answering employees when they asked questions. It's no secret the restaurant is very open. Unless you're sitting in the back by the bathrooms, you can hear anything that goes on in the front ordering area. It was clear one of the employees was training, and while I understand the frustration when you're behind on orders, there is absolutely no need for you to talk down to your employees IN FRONT of customers. The lack of professionalism was cringe-worthy, and while it didn't appear to bother the employee at hand, it bothered me. It was evident other customers were uncomfortable as well. Everyone has bad days, and I get that. But I was genuinely uncomfortable. I truly hope someone reads this and passes on the message, so this can be seen as a training opportunity. I will continue to dine at Bravo Burrito, because I love the food, but the aesthetic was unacceptable today. read more

I can't say that I dislike Bravo, I've lived in St. Cloud for awhile and everyone seems to love it so maybe I've just ordered the wrong thing, and I've only been there a couple of times. Most recently I had the smothered burrito with chicken verde. 'Smothered' should mean that there is sauce on my burrito, which there really wasn't. I also was a little turned off that they put it in the microwave, I realize that other places do this as well but I don't think it would be that difficult to throw it on the stove top to warm/melt things. Overall, my choice was quite bland and could have used more seasoning. I also felt that the flour tortilla was too thick for an 'authentic' Mexican place, as other reviewers have called it. read more

Simply the best burrito joint in the state, been going there since the 90s when I was in college. Living in Plymouth (Twin Cities) now, we routinely make the 1 hour trip to St Cloud just for Bravo because there is nothing comparable in our area, including Maple Grove which we pass on the way there. I've been to well over 15 'authentic' Mexican restaurants in the Twin Cities - Lake St, St Paul, NE - over the past several years and only 1 even came close to Bravo, most are flavorless at best or use the same boring flavors. Don't even get me started on Chipotle's cold burritos and the other chains. Bravo's flavors are unique and delicious, burritos are warm, wrapped tight, and perfectly sized. Chicken mole and chorizo are my usual choices but you can't go wrong with anything there. Reading a recent review Bravo must not be for everybody but that's what keeps places like taco bell in business. read more

I really wanted to like this place. I used to eat here all the time when I attended college at SCSU. Memories of great burritos, I told my daughter this place had to be the inspiration for Chipotle. Unfortunately the memories were better than the real thing. My pork Verde Burrito was void of any meat and dripping with liquid bean mixture with mushy bland rice. My daughter's chicken burrito was just okay, but had more meat than she could eat. Her friend had the chicken fiesta burrito; after a couple bites she said "I don't think I ordered a vegetarian burrito..." Then she unrolled the burrito and picked through the mush and could not find any meat. I looked over to confirm...Nope, no meat. Big line at the counter, so cutting in to complain was not an option. After several failed attempts to get the attention of staff walking by, I figured it was time to cut our losses and leave. I dislike chains, but next time I will go to Chipotle. I went to this place with the hope that this would be a reasonably priced quality mexican food. I was wrong. I see that most everyone else likes this place but I just dont think that they judged it on the authenticity of mexican food. I ordered the nachos grande that says it is supposed to come with cheeses which I wish it would have been nacho cheese like an original mexican restaurant would have served and meat and beans. I never saw one piece of meat but many jalapenos and about ten drops of beans for 5.95. The taco belgrande was much better from taco bell. The super burrito was big but all wrapped up in tin foil which anyone that knows mexican food would have known that you cant wrap tin foil around soft shell burritos or it will stick and guess what. It stuck so I had to pull it apart which I was eating in not taking it to go. So it was to big to eat by hand so I tried eating it off of the tin foil but it was tearing. I never was offered any sour cream to go with it. An authentic mexican restaurant would have served this on a plate with the sour cream, rice, an beans on the side on a hot plate. They would have offered you sour cream guacamole. I paid 6.45 for that so total was 15.06. I could have went to an authentic mexican restaurant for that price. This is what I have always said and I should have went with my first thought. Whites cant make authentic mexican food, chinese, or italian unless they were trained or had family that was part of that culture. It was alright but nothing like food made by hispanics. read more

I'm gonna go against the grain here and say this place is "just OK." We ordered thru food dudes delivery so my tacos were not even hot. had pork carnitas for the meat. it was very bland, hardly no taste to the meat whatsoever. I consider lettuce to be the topping on a taco, not the main ingredient. So the way they made the tacos at this place: first pile a huge amount of lettuce into the crispy shell. Then top with a small spoonful of meat and sprinkle on cheese, a small spoonful of salsa and some sour cream. Everything had no taste to it! So very bland for mexican food. I guess I should have ordered extra salsa and/or hot sauce. Also, it falls apart when you eat it because there is so much water dripping off it! Don't know if the water dripping off came from the lettuce or the meat? Only good thing is their chips. They are a Chipotle wanna-be, but I think you're better off going to the original! read more
