Hands down some of the BEST TACOS IN MINNESOTA! I went to school nearby Giliberto's and since 2016 this place has been a staple for me and my college friends. To this day they're still serving amazing, fast, fresh and tasty food. You will not be disappointed. Literally everything on the menu hits. My go order includes al pastor, chicharrón and asada tacos. The chicharrón tacos might be my favorite and it's because they serve the crispiest chicharrón on top of smashed beans (frijoles refritos) and I think it's genius. The esquites (corn in a cup) is also out of this world. Pro tip : if dining in, be sure to grab some salsas and toppings from their salsa cart. They provide counter service and the food is cooked and presented in a quick, timely manner. There is a salsa bar with a basic selection of salsa and pickled veg. I absolutely love this place. While there may be other taco shops that have better, more authentic tacos. Gilbertos does everything right while also being authentic. The menu is incredibly expansive, and there is something for everybody. They are open 24hrs and do have a breakfast menu. They have a salsa bar, which isn't often seen in Central MN. Amble inside seating as well. Highlights on the menu are their elote, carne asada tacos, grilled chicken quesadilla, churros, their and super fries/nachos. I've been here many times over the years. It was great in college. But when they opened their store near campus, the prices were much higher... and with COVID, it never was open much after. As for the food? It has gone downhill. It's not the same. And if you eat there, you eat out of styrofoam take out containers. Ambiance? People can be really loud. There are no places to charge your phone or laptop (this is a key target market people... 24 hrs for college students???). When paying, I feel obligated to tip someone typing my order--yes, they spin it for you to tip rather than hit next. I find it rude if there is no service. So, what used to be an "inexpensive" college town burrito (but open 24 hours) for $10, has now become like $15-$16. And you will never not eat out of styrofoam again.... and also won't be given forks (gotta go search for those at the self serve station -- honestly don't order in?)... but if I'm servicing myself, why would I tip anyone? It's pricey. Too pricey for styrofoam in house. And the quality of the food has gone down so much. This place used to be a hit... but, now, no one even talks about it anymore. So I've been a loyal customer for years and this time I'm appalled at how small my tamale is. The one on the right is half the size compared to the (normal size) on the left. One would think after waiting 30 plus minutes and watched others who ordered after me get their food before me(one guy order two separate orders. And he got all his food) they would be bigger in size as I get them all the time. yet I was still waiting and got This puny size. In addition this size is just not acceptable particularly when the wait time is this long and when it's almost 25 dollars. I don't get it. My hibiscus drink also was handed to me way less then full. Really disappointed. Likely won't be back. As it seems to be VERY hit or miss lately. It's a shame cause I really liked this place and go at least once a week. read more

Ordered the super fry burrito and it looked very promising upon first opening it. However, after taking a few bites I couldn't seem to manage to find a single piece of "steak" in the burrito that wasn't a fatty gristle piece. The "steak" was clearly a cheap cut, unlike the burrito priced at $10.25. You would think for the minimal ingredients on the burrito that they would make sure that the meat would hold up to justify the price and the fries would be appropriately cooked. As for the service, the employee who took our order was muffled and seemed annoyed. He asked if I'd like sauce but didn't clarify if there was a choice or if he was just gonna give every kind before closing the window. I went through the drive thru so I don't know how to rate the ambiance. Best advice if you choose to eat here: don't order the steak. read more

Super small (10 tables total) shop, open 24/7 with a drive through, and they crank out some quick tasty eats! I ordered the chicken chimichanga, my nephew got the Arizona burrito, and my husband got the steak breakfast burrito. Everything came out within 5-10 minutes delivered to our table! All workers are incredibly kind and helpful when I had a million questions and adjustments to my order (I have a tough time with on the spot decisions at new restaurants..). I've never had a bad experience and their food is the closest to authentic Mexican food there is in St. Cloud! I would definitely recommend the Gorditas with whatever meat you would like. Delighted on their breakfast selection and feeling rice early in the morning! That's the perk of having an authentic Mexican food place that is 24/7. Went through the drive thru...decided on the huevos rancheros with chorizo and horchata. Picked up my order with added condiments like pico de gallo, pickled carrots, green verde sauce and hot sauce. As soon as you open the container, the delicious smell of spicy chorizo fill your nostrils. It normally comes with refried beans but I opt for double rice. Love the Mexican rice, 3 fried eggs with runny yolk smothered with cheese on top, pico de Gallo and the chorizo. I drenched my rice with all the different sauce and topped up with guacamole. Every bite was delicious with all the different spiciness and then take a bite of the pickled carrot. So addicting! Remember you might have to ask for the pickled carrots, they don't automatically come with your meal but they are complimentary!
