Came here to watch A Christmas Story and honestly had a great time. The acoustics were clean and…read morecrisp, and the seats were surprisingly comfortable. You can actually settle in without fidgeting the whole show. The lobby is tiny though, so getting in and out feels a little chaotic, especially during the holidays. It gives slight fire-hazard energy, but I get it. Popular show, peak season, everyone trying to squeeze in at once. Inside, everything is dressed up for the holidays with cute, festive decor. Staff was super friendly. Tickets were scanned fast and they were really attentive, especially helping older guests find their seats. Bathrooms are one floor down. I overheard someone with a cane trying to figure out ADA options, so accessibility could be easier to navigate. Restrooms were stocked but could use more frequent cleaning, which is pretty normal for a packed show. Overall, solid experience. Expect crowds and lots of foot traffic, but the vibe and performances make it worth it. Excited to come back for the Sherlock Holmes show.

The seats were not the most comfortable but were tolerable. There were empty seats that night so the staff came around to let us know that we could move up to a different row if we wanted.

The group I was with spontaneously planned to see a show at FringeArts being performed by a local…read morecircus school (Circadium). I had never been to FA before and it was an experience. The pros: -Was pleasantly surprised by the show. The performer (who were about to graduate from Circadium) were extremely talented. Not sure how other shows are at FA but this one was great. -Tickets were $15, very reasonable -Seats were socially distanced, after each group three seats were left empty to allow for spacing. Also the audience was seated in every other row. -Masks and hand sanitizer were readily available. The cons: -If you are planning to see a show, buy your tickets in advance if you can. Or plan to pay in cash. If you want to buy tickets at the front desk, there is only one credit card machine and it is extremely slow. It took our group a solid 10 mins to get tickets. -With all the social distancing protocols, it would be convenient if one was seated on the end of a row to be able to cross the front row and climb up the stairs, versus having people get up to let you in. -When asked about the show we were going to see, none of the employees at the front desk knew anything about the show. I would advise having the people working to be able to give the show's general description. Overall I would recommend taking the time to catch a show at FA. Be prepared to be exposed to something new. Just buy your tickets online or have cash ready if you are buying at the front box office.

In a culture of mass produced entertainment, this is the place to go for unique experiences. We hope to perform this work on bridges across the world! Thanks Philly Fringe.

I am SO glad I decided to take a study break and see Mazeppa Productions' (http://www.yelp.com/biz/mazeppa-productions-philadelphia) production of Avenue Q tonight because I am so giddy and happy and excited and relaxed that I almost forgot how much work I have to do! AMAZING cast. Seriously sometimes forgot those puppets weren't actually singing. And the guy who voiced Trekkie Monster AND one of the bad idea bears AND Nicky. Best facial expressions/voice ever. And the girl who played Lucy the Slut and Kate Monster had an incredible voice. Let's just say...I just saw Wicked at the Academy of Music in a theater about 30 times as big as this and 4 times as expensive, and the acting and singing and entertainment value of Avenue Q was on par. and I LOVED Wicked. It was great to be in a small theater and feel like you were IN the show and that the actors were so close. HILARIOUS. I was seriously cracking up and laughing so hard I should probably apologize to the people around me. Runs through July 27th. Tickets are $25. We went for Young Friends night (free booze!) and there's another special night coming up for a pre-show drinks and snacks deal (same price): LGBT night the 25th. If you're not familiar with the show, GO. If you're easily offended...maybe..loosen up? With songs like "Everyone's a little racist" and "The Internet is for PORN," this show may not be the best thing to take your grandmother/niece too. BUT IT WAS PRETTY MUCH THE BEST THING EVER.
