We wanted to see the park so we drove in, talked to the park employee and looked around for about 30 minutes. The employee was kind and the boat ramp area was clean. We will be back to fish. read more

Braunig Lake Park - Boat ramp area - Parks Near Me - Elmendorf, Texas

Nope! Expensive rip off to get in ($10 per adult, etc) and then you get boat ramps and docks WITH NO BUMPERS!!! Just rough cement that's got ancient broken pieces of old rubber. We scratched our boat UNNECESSARILY. Put up about 30 old tires for what you charge ffs. Shower is not included in the overpriced price of admission: $6 in quarters. Trash park and ramps. Don't waste your money. You've been told. All in my opinion. read more

Braunig Lake Park - Parks Near Me - Elmendorf, Texas

When I dog sit I like going to new parks and even drive long distances to make it an outing for both me and the dog. I decided to drive here and check it out. It is not so bad of a park but you have to pay entrance fee. It is not well maintained and the view of industrial building... it kinda killed the whole vibe. Still it is nice to watch the birds flying and running around with your dog read more

Yeah. I agree it's a 2-star. The price to get in without working toilets, lack of trees and huge industrial building that looms over you is just something out of a post apocalyptic show. It's more like Chernobyl than a natural lake. Now, I did enjoy the company I was with - I'm required to because it's family. Jk. Also, I didn't go to fish either but I did speak with acid fisherman and they said there are some sizable fish to be caught if that's your thing. We just grilled, drank beverages and played games with the kids. Tip: take a canopy, sunblock, and picnic foods. And be out by sundown or insects will eat you alive. You can get an overnight or yearly pass but I don't see myself being a repeater here. There's other, better water venues. read more

I'm so disappointed in the condition of this mud hole. Braunig lake park is so trashy and unkept. After you waste your money getting in , it's such an ugly park. We found beer cans and random trash all over the grass. I hadn't been to this park in years and only came because I was invited. I wouldn't come back and don't recommend this lake to anyone. read more

We just needed to put the boat in the water for 5-10 minutes to see if it would run after working on it at home. $23 entrance fee for 2 adults plus a boat launch fee... Oh Hell No... I explained to the Gatekeeper I would just stay at the entrance while he took the boat out so we could save a few bucks. She said it all cost the same. *sigh* We debated to drive to Canyon where I grew up but due to the fact of time and crowds at any given boat launch around there on a Sunday we decided that wasn't going to work for us on this day, so I offered to let him drop me off at Bill Miller BBQ down the road since we weren't planning on spending any time on the water anyways. Yeah, I'm frugal like that. How am I am spending my time? ... writing this review at BM BBQ! CPS (the park's owner), I've been a customer since 1995. This is so uncool. Thumbs down. Your park isn't much of a park anyways reading the other reviews. P.S. Don't eat the fish here. This lake is for the electric plant. If you can't swim in the water, you really don't want to eat what comes out it. read more

Expensive and not well maintained. Gate shack lady really rude and disrespectful, even with a disabled veteran. Personal watercraft, kayak, canoe is a nasty and unsafe mud pit. Facilities are often ok. Will never use again and do not recommend. read more

We saw the sign for the park and decided to stop by in a whim. DO NOT. This is a privately owned park you have to PAY FOR to the tune of 9$ per adult. The park is poorly kept with booby traps for motor vehicles everywhere. Beware. Thinking of taking your dogs for a nice on leash romp? DO NOT. This place is riddled with sticker burs. The nasty ones that really hurt and get everywhere!! We could not walk our dogs even on the paved portions due to the pervasive presence of burs. read more

It's a nice park but the roads are horrible especially if you're towing a RV or a boat. Lots of trash on the ground as well. It's not that hard to clean up after yourselves. Can't have nothing nice anymore cause people ruin it. read more

Very disappointing, overflowing trash cans. People allow their dogs to crap everywhere and they don't bother to clean up after their pets. The reserved campsite was filthy, full of large spider webs and hundreds of dead bugs. No noise enforcement at all. The people next to us kept the music blaring til 3:00 in the morning. read more

This park is something my family and I use every year. This year June 2021 we came out here don't know if it's under new people but the park looks bad. Grass is overgrown kids can't even play. The bathrooms have been taken over by spiders. I'm just really disappointed with how much money it cost to get in here. If you decide to come bring your weed eater. When i asked about the grass front desk told me i can always try Calaveras lake. Great answer! Sad! read more

Terrible place full of garbage. The garbage cans were overfilled and the smell was horrible. The restrooms are no monitored. The amount of line are not monitored. I was there 6 hours and not once did I see any park personnel. It doesn't help that park goers are filthy that leave trash behind. Fishing lines beer cans hooks and other items. read more

I'm sorry but this place is garbage. It is dirty and seems to be unmonitored often. Even with staff during normal business hours. Often find people with 3-4 lines in the water and there's a two pole limit. It has the potential to be such a nice place but it does not seem to be a priority to somebody. It is sad that people treat property this way and I can only imagine what their homes look like. Even worse, it's unmonitored as I said before. Late night fishing awhile back and someone decided to discharge a firearm. It's sad and I never did and never would take my family there. read more

Well for one I called them exactly 2 hours ago about the bathrooms the men's and women's over here by the playground area by the party pavilion and they have not even remotely came to clean any of these bathrooms on Thurs. Last weekend me and my husband came here there was no bath soap in there to wash your hands with and the toilet paper that's thrown in there has poop all over it there's poop all over the toilet and they just don't seem to care because my husband informed me that the Cleaning crew there was in there whatever you want to call them were saying will we need a suit who's gonna go clean the bathrooms are you gonna go clean up. And in my Opinion thats not doing prior following the covid 19 rules read more

If you're a veteran, you might want to bring your DD214 because they won't accept my disabled veteran registration, or ID's from the VA. So $8 per person isn't really worth it if you have a family. Not the cleanest, not respectful fishing will fish on top of you. Definitely don't go fishing at night unless you want to find your vehicle on blocks read more

I took my dad who was here from out of town. There was No fish in this lake, lots of ants. The grass was so high it was hard to figure out where we were going. Not sure we will be back. read more

Not the greatest place to go. The fishing is OK but there's lots of trash and you're more likely to real in a plastic bag than a fish. The bank fishing was terrible and it would be better with a boat. We're probably not going back. read more

Very bad customer service at the entrance gate. Asked to look at Lake from 10 feet away from both and was told I would have to pay eight dollars to look at the leak from my car turned around and left don't waste your time there read more

We fish here at least twice a year. Usually we catch or limit in 2-3 hrs. We always go out in a boat. Not a great location to fish from the shore. We have not seen the trash mentioned in other posts nor have we ever had to wait in line to enter the park. There are several great fishing guides. We really like Harry Lamb with Alamo fishing Guides. read more

Braying Park is a simple spot for a brief visit, but boring otherwise, here's why: Good for: fishing, picnics and grilling, boating & water sports Not great due to: no beach, no swimming, chemical-enriched waters, lack of water fountains We were looking to enjoy some swimming, but this spot did not provide! People were camping overnight, but I just couldn't see the appeal. read more

A gem. Found it in Passport America listings. $23.50 for full hook-ups. Great proximity to San Antonio sites. Very, very clean. Friendly staff and the cheapest laundry ever. read more

The worst campsite I have ever booked. Let's start from the beginning coming up was rudely greeted by the front staff one man was trying to say things while his back was to me in a building and I was in my truck and would get angry when asked to repeat himself. Get to the campsite and there is trash everywhere cascarones confetti all over the place, bait tubs, old fishing line with hooks attached, and a number of fish carcasses just thrown about the camp site. When we wanted to start cooking dinner there was no grill which was promised on the website and the fire pit had no topper and was filled with fishing line, cans, and Cheetos bags. So we had to go to the front and buy a cheap grill just to use for the weekend. It amazes me that the company that runs the lake cares so little about it and that people actually go out to that nasty place. If y'all want a good camping experience go to a state park where tpwd actually cares. read more

It's a beautifully maintained RV park with large concrete pads. One major problem is that there are over 250 spots and a total of ten washers. It's a nightmare trying to do laundry here. Their wifi is also slow, so even trying to send emails is a struggle. If they'd add more washers and find better internet service I'd give this place 5 stars. read more

Not a pretty park at all. Fishing is ok but you have to deal with all the fire ants. Water is polluted and smells. A lot of people playing loud music all the time. Fun part is passing the entrance window by mistake and watch the crazy old lady yell "HEEEYYYY!! HEEEYYYY!!! HEEEEYYYY!!!" Funny as as hell. read more

Pros: We come here at least once a month. It's fun for the kids and there's always something to catch. Cons: People like to fish on top of you. Trash everywhere. Don't have enough shade and picnic tables, so make sure you bring something to sit on and umbrellas. read more

If I could give 0 stars i would have! Complain about restrooms having CRAP/POOP smeared over the walls and they just look at you like okay... 2 days later after complaining 2x still here... nothing done... DONT EVER CAMP HERE! The dirtiest horribly kept park I've ever been too. Trash EVERYWHERE. I picked up trash blowing around on the ground and floating up on the shore from the water every day. The restrooms near the camping sites were trashed on a daily basis. Toilets clogged. Feces smeared on the walls, toilets and floors. Toilet paper slung around all over the floors. The cleaning crew came around and 'cleaned' them once a day which consisted of hosing the entire restroom with a water hose but maybe one hour after that they were completely destroyed again. There was no park supervision or enforcement of any kind. The midnight noise curfew meant absolutely nothing to anyone staying at the park. Music blaring throughout the night, yelling, etc... And still no park management to manage or enforce this either. Office employees were extremely rude! Not to mention they only had a one lane entrance which had a line of cars backed up out into the feeder road daily. All. Day. Long. So if you've already been at the park and might need to leave for something you will be waiting in that line for at least a half hour minimum to get back in behind the people that haven't paid yet. We paid $87.00 for two adults and two children to camp from Friday afternoon to Sunday afternoon. Completely ridiculous given the parks condition and lack of management. I wouldn't pay 50 cents to stay at this park. Do not waste your money or families time on this place. -5 stars. read more
