Good vibes, chill servers, good spot close to Elandsgracht and facing the Liknbaansgracht if you…read morewant to be outdoors during sunny weather. It's just outside the hustle and bustle of Jordaan. The terrace is pretty cozy or airy depending on the season, they have heating lamps and local Dutch vibes - you can order something and they will leave you alone for as much time as you want until you wave them down again, so it's great to hang out and read a book. The charcuterie plate was pretty decent. Good first date spot, since it's right in that not-too-cheap not-too-expensive price point, you know what I mean . I'd say it's convenient, nothing so special that you'd go out of your way, but not bad either!

As soon as we landed in Amsterdam we were on a mission to get some grub. We saw Brasserie Blazer,…read moreas it was near our apartment, so decided to check it out. The menu is simple with sandwiches, two different salads, a soup of the day and some light snacks. They also have some Dutch beer on tap. I ordered a local IPA, fries and the goat cheese and prosciutto grilled sandwich. After chatting and downing our beers, which emptied before our food came, we ordered another round and started to wonder about our food orders, especially since all of us got sandwiches. It doesn't take that long to make. Our table was also next to the kitchen so we could see that the chef was on his phone, not cooking, which was confusing. We ended up asking another server about this and she went over to the kitchen to check on our order. Turns out - the order never came through in the computer system to the kitchen, so she had to tell him our orders so he could start making it. By the time we got our orders we were starving (since we were traveling all morning!). My grilled sandwich had lots of goat cheese, which was yummy, but wish it had more of the prosciutto. Nothing special about the sandwich, but at least it was sustenance. Same with the fries. I was hoping for some good, thick fries to go with the side of mayo, but they were thin. Overall, Brasserie Blazer is not the best option for lunch in the Jordaan neighborhood of Amsterdam, but it was convenient for us.

Will go through pros and cons: Pros…read more- next to none - nice looking restaurant and bar itself Cons - Appalling service for a "nicer" restaurant in a bustling neighborhood - put in an order for dirty martinis, bread/butter, oysters, steak frites, and red bass - out of martini glasses by 7pm. What?? - rock hard bread I wouldn't feed a dog and plastic container butter - lackluster oysters - steak frites came out just about raw (1.5 hours after ordering). Had to send back. Came back with no sauce on top, no mayo for fries - red bass decent - server/waiter said it "wasn't his fault" and "the system didn't take our order". No empathy, no anything. - the most appalling part. Offered us a free drink or a coffee. WHAT?? Didn't comp the martinis, didn't comp the awful steak frites, or anything. Sorry excuse for a restaurant that, if based on service and food, should be out of business. Won't be back. Go to brut de mer instead. No stars

It's high-energy, crowded (in a fun way), and the people-watching is 10/10. It feels like a lively mix of Paris and New York in the heart of the canals. Great for a group lunch. Service is professional and fast-paced to keep up with the crowd. The food (like the Steak Frites) is consistently solid, but you are definitely here for the energetic atmosphere and the perfect location. A great 4-star spot if you want to soak in the fashionable Amsterdam.

While in town we ate at this restaurant 3 nights in a row, and was all set to give a 5 star review…read morebased on the first night we ate here, however after eating here several times I'm only giving it two stars. Location was right across the street from our hotel, which was a plus since it was raining every day. We were able to get a table right away right by the door with a window view. Great for people watching. Server came over, and took our order. I ordered a cappuccino, I have to say it was the best cappuccino I had the whole time I was in The Netherlands. That being said... the other times we ate here, and I ordered the cappuccino it wasn't good at all. Maybe the other nights there was a different bar tender? We each had a different soup, one was tomato, and the other chicken vegetable. They were both really good, and piping HOT. Soup came with two different types of bread slices, and were really soft with a herbed butter. (see pictures) Main dish was three types of meat, chicken, beef, and pork with some fried potatoes, and a small side of vegetables. Food was plated beautifully. Dessert was a small chocolate cake with a side of vanilla ice cream. We decided to share this dessert, which was a mistake because it was so good that we each wanted our own! This is the number one reason we decided to eat here each night we were in town. Server was very attentive, and over all we had a great experience....the first night. Every night after that service kept going down hill, and the food was not as good. I even commented that they must of had a different cook. When I asked the server, she said no. We definitely didn't have the same server as before. The very last night we ate here was the worst. They close early, and we got there around 8pm. Food took forever to get to us even though there was only a few people in the restaurant. The wait staff seemed put out, and was noisily banging dishes around, moping floors, and general clean up that usually goes on after customers have left the restaurant.

Can't say I liked the service - had to find my own way to the table, and then look for somebody to…read moreget a menu, however, I enjoyed the food! I never known such tasty and soft bread exists! The restaurant seemed to have some meal deals, however, im not fluent in Dutch so can't be sure. The menu in English offers you a three courses for at around 22 eur, which seems not so bad!
