This was an amazing experience. I loved "The Wurst." The service was excellent so I would certainly recommend the restaurant!

Lovely service (had a mini chalkboard with my name!). Answered my questions (asked in very broken…read moreGerman). Had a nice olive tapenade with bread and chickpea amuse buche. Great beef bourginon.

It was nice to dine in a restaurant truly frequented by locals; I believe we were the only foreign…read moretourists in the restaurant. It is also fairly popular, as the restaurant was rather full at 9:00 on a Monday night. The seasonal menu was limited to three common main courses: beef bourgonge, veal cordon blue and coq au vin. There were two appetizer and main course specials too. Started with the cured salmon appetizer special. The fish was cured in beet juice. Interestingly, it had a different taste from the salmon we're used to having. It came with some greens and crunchy mustard seeds, and a crisp seedbread cracker. The special of pork done three ways was the highlight of the meal. One was slices of roast pork, the second was chunks of braised pork, and the third was a meatball. The dish came with pumpkin slices, and some potatoes and Brussels sprouts. The veal cordon bleu was a pan-fried piece of meat with ham and gooey cheese inside. It was OK, but boring. All it came with were two grape tomatoes and a ridiculously large pile of shoestring fries, which were fairly crips but also boring. Finished with a cheese plate that included five local swiss cheeses. The first, a chevre, and the last, a blue, were the best and most interesting. The waiter was very accommodating and the service overall rather efficient. Dinner for two with two glasses of wine and a bottle was CHF 207.
