I don't get why there are so many bad reviews -- this is honestly the only spot in San Antonio worth pulling up to if you're going out. There's no just standing around or awkwardly staring at people here -- everyone is dancing, jumping, and actually having fun. My drink of choice is an Adios MF and they are great here. I've been here at least once on every day of the week they're open, and it's always a blast. New Year's Eve is always insane, Fridays and Saturdays have the best music for dancing, and Emo Wednesdays? Always amazing. Apparently, they do ask people to cover up neck or face tattoos, except on Emo Wednesdays and Thursdays, which might explain why my friends and I have never had any issues getting in. This place is fun and enjoyable when the workers aren't rude. The first time i came here, one of the workers told me to cut my hair in such a mean manner that i was disgusted by it. I was standing close to a fan and i was aware of it but i made a joke to my friend about my hair getting caught and he responds with "then you should cut your hair." My group was full of 21+ people with valid IDS, and was denied entry because someone had an Id from outside of the United States. Have been here several times with no issue, when prompted the bouncers NOR security guards would provide the names of the people denying entry. Completely discriminatory towards non US citizens will NOT be coming again! read more

I went to Thurzgayz. The waitress served me "Tito's and Sprite". After my 3rd round, she made a "Tito's and Soda". I kept ordering the same exact thing, so not sure why she switched it up. She said she could not remake it and I would be charged for both if I wanted the correct drink. I tip well -- for sure tipped at least $30.00 for my drinks, and still ended up with subpar service. as someone who's been going to brass for 5+ years, i'm very disappointed in my most recent visit. i was told at the entrance that i will not be allowed to enter with visible neck tattoos (i have tattoos behind each of my ears about 3in. big) i was shocked bc of all the years i've been going this policy has never been mentioned to me and i've had these tattoos forever. when i asked to speak to a manager i waited outside about 20 minutes before giving up and going home without ever seeing anybody. the next day i reached out to brass via instagram dm's and asked about this policy. the photo is their response. so they only allow these tattoos on certain days of the week? doesn't make sense. in a city like san antonio (one of the tattoo capitals of america and a high latino population) i don't understand why a rule like this is in place it seems shady. if a policy like this is that important to them they should put it on any of their social media accounts or their website but it's not in writing anywhere, you don't find out until you've already drove there and waited in line which to me seems unprofessional and shady. sad to say it but i probably won't be returning, they probably don't care though bc they don't want money from people with neck and face tattoos i guess ‍ read more

Went here with some friends, the dance floor's not that big but people are here to dance not stand on the floor with their bros. The music was a good sampling of dance music and some of the better popular EDM, not some DJ's obscure preferences. Security was diligent and very observant , but they are there for people's safety not to hassle people. I'm glad that the "Brass Monkey" sign was visible in the picture, or else I wouldn't have a clue who to call I contacted Brass Monkey and holy moly someone had brought my wallet to them!! I didn't expect this to happen at all cause I dropped it at around 5.30 in the afternoon while the bar wouldn't be opened till 9 PM. I usually have a really great time here at brass but the other night has me traumatized. I was dancing and a fight broke out. They ended up slamming up against a trash can and fell onto my back and was trampled on for what felt like minutes. Thankfully it was maybe shy of 60 seconds. All security did was open up the side door to guide the fight out from the dance floor. My friends had to push the fight out the door for them to get off of me. After I was helped up we weren't approached by any staff or security or asked if we needed any help or first aid. I am really saddened to say that I will not be returning. Please be safe here when you come. Stay close with one another and if a fight breaks out LEAVE. I have bruises and cut all over my body. :(( do better. also I post all the bruises and cuts so there's a few I can show. read more
