I visited the restaurant this Friday. It was one of my best experience dinning in an Indian restaurant. Amazing service! My daughter was allergic to couple of things but meenu helped us a lot she even served us food on the table regardless of buffet! She was a great help made us familiar with all the amazing Indian food they had in their grand buffet even though The place was extremely busy. Hello We went to Brar's Grand. Waiter try to pick up dirty plates and drops on a customer. He drops food all over customer, his cloths and jacket are ruined. But they don't care. There was a food all over the floor they did not clean. People walked in that food. The waiter also spill the water in his plate as well on his Iphone. But DO THEY CARE??? Never and finally they brought the bill. They have no courtesy to take care of any of this issue. Other customer sitting next to us also told us the same thing that THIS IS HOW THEY TREAT PEOPLE FROM INDIA. Even though they making money out of us. They are very rude people. We will never ever go to this place and we will tell all our friends and relatives not to go there. If I can rate this people I would give them minus 1000 rating. They are that bad. This restaurant used to have good food but now it is pathetic. It's a buffet and most of the items don't feel fresh anymore. They have gone real pathetic in deserts also. Also there is a new policy of one naan at a time and it wastes the whole experience. Naan is not at the buffet, you have to special order it and it takes forever to grab attention of a waiter. By the time you get it, your food is ice cold. And you can only order one, not two. The new policy states 1 at a time to prevent waste. What dumb fools. My vegetables and lentils got ice cold waiting for the Naan and i eventually left with my plate full of cold food for them to trash. Plus I left the place hungry coz I cudnt get my food in time. I am trying to be very Simple..Food was good but Staff was really pathetic(again not all).. I made reservation on my Daughter's Birthday for around 18-20 people.. We started at 6:30 pm and had booking till 8:15pm..but staff was coming again and again continuously to remind us we had to leave by 8:15 pm That was really Frustrating.. Vegetarian Indian Restaurant. Went in a Saturday around 7pm and the wait was around 30 minutes. The restaurant itself is small but very nice decor and modern. The food was great, lots of curry options, rices, Indian and Hakka food, great way to try different foods and see what you like. Dessert has traditional Indian and standard Canadian stuff like ice cream, fruit, chocolate fountain. Best part fountain drinks are included in buffet price. read more

I was at brars day before yesterday. I was really happy with service. Food was okay. And then i was grabbing bowl and i saw a cockroach in the buffet i right way addressed the issue to our server and she was really helpful. Later when i was grabbing the food from the buffet i saw her addressing the same issue to the manager she is a new lady in the restaurant and she was wearing white shirt and she said OH THERE IS NOTHING, THEY ARE JUST MAKING UP. The fact that no one other than our server apologized at the table made it very clear that the management of the restaurant is not working properly but listening to those words from manager i felt humiliated. Great place for eating out. Delicious food and great place to take family, friends, visitors or those from other communities if you want them to taste Indian ( mainly North Indian) food. Although vegetarian and yummy but certainly not healthy! However, the area I felt that needs attention is the bathrooms. I happened to visit it few days before and used the wash room. I found no cleaning schedule in the (ladies) bathroom. There is no soap! And no water to flush in the one of the two bathrooms. It was so dark that it looked spooky inside. This is not the first time I noticed this condition. Generally, it is said that you can look at the management of the hotel or the restaurant from the way the bathrooms are. Brar's boast of a wonderful lunch buffet but it felt miserably short of my expectations for many reasons which are listed below. I will not recommend this place if tasty food is what you want. 1. The cost - At 19$ per person (for weekend), one gets a long list of items to eat, but only one or two are worth it. 2. In the middle of our lunch, the AC was switched off - this caused us to sweat 30 mins into the buffet. 3. The papadams were not well fried - all soft and difficult to chew 4. All the vegetables were full of oil - Oil floating on every curry is a disaster for your heart and weight. 5. The dhoklas were stale - they did not taste fresh 6. Appetizers - All tasted okay. Nothing unique or great. Just average 7. Curries - All okay; nothing extraordinary. The best thing at Brar's was the Pan that we ordered at the end. Was excellent. Overall, many options on the menu, but none standing out as tasty (or healthy). I would recommend Bombay Palace for buffet. If you have guests and you want the guests to remember a lunch place you took to, Brar's is not the one. Take them to Bombay Palace. If you are looking for cheaper, tastier, and healthier option (à la carte or thali, not buffet), go to Taste of Punjab - the ambiance is not the best, but the taste is excellent (and healthy...no visible excess oil and feels light on the belly). Watch out for sneaky pricing ! OVERALL: Brar's has lost my patronage forever. Felt very insulted, and it seems that the owners just want to make some quick money by using cheap methods. FOOD & SERVICE: Went with the entire family looking forward to a nice dinner. There wasn't a big rush, but still found the food to be cold. We let the hostess know and she promised to heat it up for us, but even after re-heating, everything still came out cold. We were told that the buffet table's setting had been left to "room temperature" and that was the problem. When we asked if we could still get it warmed up, the waitress left and didn't come back until much later. SNEAKY PRICING: Wanted to pick up some sweets for take-out after dinner, but I was told there would be a $2 extra charge for the box. I asked if I can get it in a regular box, and they said no. I asked if I could just take it in my own container, and still the answer was no. Basically, you HAVE to pay extra 2$ no matter what you buy. The listed prices make everything look cheaper, but then they add a mandatory $2 charge for everything, and call it a "box fee". Such a cheap way to treat customers. read more

The food is very good. I went with my family on a Sunday and as expected it was packed. Good thing we reserved a table before hand. If i remember correctly, the waiting time was more than 45 minutes minimum. We had the buffet which costed a $25 which is costly. However, because of a huge variety of food, and if you are able to eat enough it canbe worth. Also, the food is worth provided you can eat enough. Now the reason why i gave only 2 stars is because I had a bad incident with the manager. First, i saw him shouting at a couple of waiters for not being fast enough. Next because i couldnt find any cutlery and there werent any free waiters around for me to ask, I thought of just using a spoon from another unoccupied table. The manager saw me taking it and he came to me and told me to never do this in his restaurant in a very rude manner which i thought was pretty unnecessary and not what should a customer should be getting. We came on a Saturday for lunch and it was around $18 usd which is pricey but considering they have 100 or so different items that to vegetarians we went ahead and tried it. Needless to say the food was okay. Taste was pretty blend and i'm only giving this place 2 stars because they serve warm naan. I was expecting the taste to be much much better since the owners are "punjabis" so we were expecting typical taste. We ordered two cups of tea on saturday easter weekend , they bought me tea in glass, i asked to put in cup they brought tea in cup. I started drinking in 1 min realized there was a complete lipstick mark on it, i thought its my lipstick and i wiped it, i then realized i havent applied any lipstick today. I was surprised by unheigene level of there restaurant. This incident will be a lesson for me to not eat or drink outside. read more

Worst attitude towards their customers: the food coms later b'cos the first thing u expect as u enter any restaurant is the staff to be atleast polite. the attitude (specifically of the till operator handling the take out area) towards their customers is worst- there was an error in my bill (they had charged me for 4 dishes instead of 3 that i had ordered), wen i highlighted this and requested them for a refund for 1 dish that i never ordered. the till operator got extremely arrogant and indicated that it was because of me that this error occurred. It was clear that the till operator taking the orders at the takeout area was extremely confused. and arrogant and was not able to handle the area at all (even after having a high tech head phone to communicate with the kitchen staff) Infact she was blaming the waitress who was cleaning the tables to accommodate guests and was actually doing a good job. @Food:: elaborate buffet, and a very clean look, which probably accounts for why they can price their buffet at $13 Canadian. But the TASTE is not worth it. Just stick to punjabi dishes if u still wish to try,,for the rest its just the visual appearance of so many dishes but zero taste. read more

The quality of the food is never the problem here. It always comes down to service, I have been here multiple times and each time it seems to get worse. The first time it took 20 minutes to serve us food that we could see was behind the counter. The last time we went here we placed the order an hour ahead of time. We show up and have to spend 10 minutes waiting in line to pick up only to find out it still isn't ready. Expect horrid service, enough to ruin your meal. read more

Being a big fan of indian food..I went to brar last sunday..but totally disappointed..the quality of buffet is awful..just a few pieces of paneer in the gravy..the gravy tasted as if water had just been added to it..awful taste..for the dosa counter..they wud give first preference to ala carte orders..so u have to wait a long time which is quiet frustrating..plus the taste of the dosa was just about edible..the ice cream..was so hard that it took me quiet some time to scoop it..it had crystals of ice and tasted a little bitter..if u compare the ras malai they sell separately with the rasmalai in the buffet..the two look totally different..all broken rasgullas in it..the gajar halwa..the look was so bad that I cudnt gather the courage to taste it..horrible experience read more
