The woman that was working in the store was literally 5 feet away, but she didn't say anything or offer any help at all. She just kept gossiping with another customer, even though she saw my wife fall down. Unacceptable behavior. On the only positive side, the clerk did greet us when we walked into the store. Note that there are two small steps inside the store, and my wife tripped on the 2nd step. My wife saw the first step, but didn't anticipate a 2nd step a small distance away, since this is not typical. The sign was no help. Perhaps the store should consider getting rid of the steps and installing a ramped-floor instead.

There were 3 women working there, not one of them asked me if I wanted to start a dressing room or if I needed help etc. What were they doing instead? I love their old-school, classic New England, Ivy Style products; the two authentic Indian madras…read moreshirts I ordered this spring however, are extremely undersized. I usually wear large to extra large in shirts so i ordered them in XXL to be sure; when they arrived and I tried them on, however, they are in reality slightly smaller even than a large in a standard men's shirt. I like them so much I'm keeping them, however. I don't know if this sizing standard applies to any of their other men's tops. I tend to think not, as I have noted wonky sizing in Indian madras shirts from another retailer and I suspect it is due to to the manufacturers in India having different standards than US. I also have a pair of their madras board shorts, and I'd say it fits true to size. Having said all this, Kiel James Patrick is extremely generous and lightning-fast in making exchanges, as long as clothing is unworn, unwashed, and with all tags remaining on the garment and received writhin the deadline. Some people consider this brand to be very expensive; I find them to cost less than some competitors, however, which is very pleasing and figured in my buying decision. I just gotta close with a shout-out to their packaging: The elaborate box and inside wrapping will blow you away and ensures your product arrives without wrinkles or any sort of damage from shipping.

Their signature square knot style bracelets are a perfect blend of ocean, sailing, beach, local (yet diverse with the multiple location inspired lines), and fun. Each stylish piece of jewelry has a cool anchor-like hook in either gold or silver. I am in love with my new bracelets, but especially the Watch Hill (one of my favorite beach areas anyway) design, which looks like an open anchor bangle bracelet. The uniqueness of this piece is that it is light, versatile, casual, yet dressy, and stays open. I have never seen a design like this (most clasp or go all the way around), but this design has such a special flair to it. I am very impressed with this local company. The store itself is an experience! Walking along Thames, you are bound to encounter various shops featuring local and interesting products. But this store has a unique and fun story (just read their history/about section and anyone familiar with Newport summers will understand the Dark and Stormy reference!), paired with a beautifully designed and nautically inspired store itself. Their seating area and couches are so very welcoming and the employees are attentive and sociable. They also stand by their products 100%. I can't say enough wonderful things about Lemon & Line. A little tip: pair the Watch Hill bangle-like bracelet with any of the signature rope bracelets for a unique and beautiful look. They also have a beautiful and fun nautical bag. The straps are what make this bag so unique - keeping in theme with the rope bracelets. A warm summery day ahead beckons a visit to Lemon & Line on your next stroll in beautiful Newport. It also neighbors some tasty ice cream shops and restaurants - perfect location and products all around.
