I had never seen a counselor/therapist before so I was very picky and did a lot of research. I wanted someone who shared the same faith with me and had experience handling the issues I was dealing with. I narrowed my search to Jamie and that was one of the best decisions I've made in my life. Right from my first meeting with Jamie, I felt very comfortable, zero judgement, I was free to bear my heart out to her and she diagnosed the root cause of my issues which was a life with no boundaries. I had the biggest light bulb moments I've ever had in my life during our sessions. I spent over a year with Jamie and each session was super refreshing. I looked forward to each session. She uncovered a lot of connections from my past that were affecting some of the decisions and choices I was making. It was mind-blowing. I am a stronger woman with firm boundaries because of Jamie's help. She helped me work through each childhood hurt that was causing me depression. With her support, I had multiple difficult conversations with those in my past who hurt me and with each conversation, I was able to forgive and move forward and I felt a huge boulder drop from my heart. I am happier, healthier, no depression spells, have a very strong sense of self because of my time in counseling/therapy with Jamie. I've been able to finally drop my victim bags and realize that I have a choice and I'm making positive choices every day to forgive, love, and think positive. I've been recommending her to my friends and family ever since. I recommend Jamie to everyone going to emotional turmoil. She is a one-of-a-kind counselor/therapist. Thank you for all your help, Jamie. I'm eternally grateful.

I don't usually write reviews, but Menninger really changed a lot for me so I felt like I should…read moresay something real. The Bridge Program especially stood out. It's not one of those places that just runs you through a system you can tell they actually care about what happens to you after you leave. Toyin and Amir made a huge difference in my experience. They're the kind of people who don't just listen to respond, they actually hear you and meet you where you're at. There were moments I didn't even feel like opening up, but they knew how to create a space where it didn't feel forced or fake. That's rare. What I appreciated most is that nothing felt performative. The conversations were real, the support was real, and the guidance actually stuck with me outside of the program. I walked in not really knowing what to expect, and left with way more clarity and structure than I had before. If you're on the fence about Menninger or the Bridge Program, just know there are people there who genuinely care and want to see you win. Toyin and Amir are a big part of that.

I had read many reviews, and I was so uneasy about it but after a referral and being a last resort to have her admitted to any hospital. I chose this place. You hear stories of mistreatment from mental hospitals. This place was amazing! Going through the intake / mental assessment for her was done over the phone and then in person and was very professional and they truly seem to care. Once she was admitted, I was kept informed via email and phone calls and included with her treatment plan and medication plan. She had two psychiatrists and a therapist during her stay. The care team was great, and all the nurses were awesome. They had one on one and lots of peer groups for the teens and a Calander of stuff for them to learn coping skills for when they are discharged. if your teen is willing to get help and make the effort this place will help them. I am so happy that I chose Menninger in Houston. It truly helped her. She is now doing outpatient closer to home. but is using the skills she learned at Menninger.

Although she is not covered through my insurance she is sweet enough to work out a plan that works for me. We all have our stresses: Work, relationships, family, friends ... and you can't always turn to close friends and/or family because A) They're your stress triggers or B) They can't give you unbiased feedback. Especially my family. Opinions, opinions, opinions. Sometimes, you need a professional. Shana Clark is a licensed professional counselor, and she specializes in so many issues: relationships/couples counseling, anger management, career counseling, problem solving, drug/alcohol abuse, grief/loss, anxiety ... I like that she has a spiritual background, and she is one of the few in people in Houston who uses the Thought Field Therapy/Emotional Freedom Therapy (TFT/EFT) and Tapas Acupressure Technique (TAT) aka "tapping" to clear of any negative emotions, energy and thoughts. She's also very honest and doesn't "shrink" you ... she tells it like it is based on professional experience. I dig it.
