I'm writing an electrician review and Jamie Foxx is set to reprise his role as Electro in a Spider-man movie after 7 years. Coincidence? We had some electrical issues - one with a ground fault in one bathroom and one with the circuit breakers that were documented on a house inspection that was done for an insurance. We tried to find electricians that could come on short notice, but we were getting 2 -3 week waits. We tried Brandon Electric and they were able to send someone the next day. Score! Initially, it seemed like a straight forward issue, but due to the setup of the circuit breakers and alterations made by a previous electrician - it took a while to clear up. Danny the electrician was very knowledgeable and affable. He didnt waste unneeded time and was working very efficiently. Apparently the circuit breakers were done in an odd style and he had to rearrange them. He wore a mask and explained what he did at each step. After everything was done, he took the credit card as payment and headed out. Thankfully they didnt try to sell us on some BS maintenance plan or unnecessary upgrades (Et tu Cornerstone Pros?) The main office said that they would send the invoice/receipt but they didnt. That's the only negative. read more

Brandon Electric collected a substantial deposit for work for our HOA over a month ago. The don't return repeated calls and will not come out to install a water fountain as agreed. They will not offer a refund on the deposit. I believe our next step is to have our attorney reach out. I'm happy to update this review if we can be served as agreed. read more

Well the initial appointment and estimate went well, very knowledgeable and explained everything but after I accepted the proposal they just disappeared, no contact, no follow up etc. I reached out to the contact who met me originally, he was very apologetic but went quiet again until the company reached out and acted as if nothing happened and was looking to schedule. At that point I had looked into other companies, and was very disappointed in the way Brandon Electric wasted my time. read more

Not recommended. This company were referred from Facebook. I needed a quote to remove a light fixture and install recessed lights in a 24ft ceiling. I also asked for two extra wall outlets and an electric towel warmer to be installed. They sent two technicians, it took them over 4 hours. I've worked with many master electricians so this isn't my first first electric rodeo. They spent as much time in the truck as they did in the house, talking to a supervisor and making out a quote for other work. Both guys said they were new, and it showed. The plugs took a while but then they started on the towel warmer. I came back after 15 minutes and I asked if there were any questions but there was no progress, they said, "oh yea, let's read the instructions." They installed ivory outlets on a white wall. Then after the 4 hours, I reluctantly went to their truck to pay and their payment system is broken. I told accounting to call me with an itemized invoice and this was the response, "Per GPS tracking our technician was on site for 4 hours. This cost would be $535.00 for labor alone. We also only charged for one technician. There were two on site. The cost for two technicians is $195.00 an hour. The total cost of material would be $106.00. The total cost without giving the free estimate would have been $641.00. We only charged 575.18. Please be aware that payment needs to be made today." Still, a one line invoice, not itemized with time and materials. They spent an hour quoting the first estimate. Materials was $106, for two, ONLY two wall plugs? I supplied everything else. I paid for slow technicians and an inflated quote, not experienced labor. They don't itemize invoices really, they show you a number and ask for approval. I had 2 plugs installed and a heated towel rack. I was on an important conference call and just nodded to my wife. Never nod, they just send a one line item invoice and say "customer approved". There are two sides to every story of course, but just be aware, or they will make you "aware". Here is a closing joke, how many electricians does it take to install two wall plugs? "In my opinion" ... it would be best to avoid this company. I also think most people will be unprepared to deal with this company. Most of us, don't like having service techs show up late or not show up at all to the job. Most of us, don't like having service techs fail to finish the job. Most of us, don't like having service techs do such poor work it requires another company to fix and finish the job. Most of us, don't like having office staff lie to us and make excuses for the company's bad behavior. Most of us, don't like being called rude and unprofessional by the very people that have mistreated us and done such poor work when we called out their bad conduct. Most of us would be upset by all of that! Now I have noticed in other reviews, that the company thinks those of us that complain when they don't do what they were hired for, don't show up on time and don't communicate with the customer are just too demanding! We should forgive and forget. After all ... they do eventually apologize, so all the inconvenience they caused us should just be forgotten! My family has used this company for almost 20 years on dozens and dozens of jobs on numerous properties. Why this company has changed so dramatically recently is hard to understand. New ownership should not make that much difference but in our case it certainly looks like it did. As a consumer that is unprepared for this kind of treatment by an electrical company ... I will look for another company that has less drama and aggravation. Oh and maybe one that actual does what you pay for on time and in a way I can relate to! read more

A few months ago I had a new ceiling fixture installed and the old one removed in living room... In the kitchen I had fluorescent light removed and 3 can lights installed. They have held up great, no problem. The worker was fast, clean-cut, neat, and polite. There was one small problem with the switch and they came out the very next day to correct it. The initial call to Brandon Electric took place on Aug. 9th (3 mos ago) which is when they came out to look at my electrical panel box that was on the RECALL list. It was at that time it was indeed determined a box that was on the recall list. I was told if I didn't hear back from them within 2 weeks to call the scheduling dept which I ended up calling 2-1/2 weeks Later. I spoke to Ray, the guy that is in charge of this project, whom made it sound like there was basically nothing he could do as he was waiting on Schneider Electric to release the recall funds Before he could schedule it to be repaired. I asked him for the owners number and he gave me the number and told me to ask for Michele (owners wife). she was extremely apologetic and said that Ray was correct in what he said as she went to talk to him about it. She then said to please feel free to call weekly and she would be happy to keep me updated. Quite frankly, that's all I wanted until the apt can be scheduled. It's going on 3 months, I've tried calling these past 2 weeks 3 times, to get communicated to on progress, and left 3 different messages to her voicemail, and she is not even picking up the phone To communicate the progress, nor is she listening to the voicemails that I left. I only know she is not listening to them as she hasnt even tried to call me. So she is either not listening to her voicemails or she is likely ignoring them from me. If this is the case, the words call me weekly and I can keep you updated, is a total LIE! I will plan on taking this further if it doesn't get resolved soon! This is totally unacceptable and unprofessional. If I have to call Brandon Electric weekly to get no answer BTW, they should (Josh or Michele) be calling Schneider Electric in a weekly basis as well. Absolute sharks stay away, I got three quotes to change my panel for the outside of my house, they were the only company to change me for a quote and they quoted 5700!! The other two companies were less than 2k. Not only that but after they came to my house to do the estimate I had the call them multiple times over the next two weeks just to get the price. I had another company do the 4 hour job for 1800 dollars and brandon electric calls me 3 weeks later and asks if I still want the work done. Stay away! read more

No one really wants to have an electrical emergency on a rainy Sunday. But it happened & when I called Brandon Electric & got an answering service with a bad connection I almost tried a different electrician but the lady said she could hear me just fine so I spelled everything over the phone & they called me back almost immediately. When the Tech 'Daniel' called, (his line was very clear) & he was up front with pricing & explained how the process would work & even what I would get charged even IF I opted for him NOT to make repairs once he got in his car towards the job site. It sounds scary, but we needed this done. He was on site within an hour & diagnosed the problem within the 1st 30 minutes. He explained that he would need to leave to get additional supplies but promptly returned & made the necessary repairs. There are times when I think contractors over charge simply because they know we are at their mercy (plumbers & electricians specifically) and ESPECIALLY so after 'normal' business hours. But I never felt that way dealing with 'Daniel' at Brandon Electric. I also think the price we were charged was very much worth the service we received both in the handling of the customer service and the actual technical repairs that were completed. I even think the charges were comparable of what we have been charged by other electricians during 'normal' business hours. I would most definitely recommend them & use them again myself in the future. read more

We hired Brandon Electric to repair one of two aluminum post lamps equipped with photoelectric eyes in our front yard. The crew Brandon sent out told us the existing wiring conduit could not be located, and it was necessary to trench our yard and lay new conduit to repair the non-working post lamp. When this crew started the work, within minutes they somehow managed to shear off and ruin not only the post lamp they were supposed to be repairing, but also the working post lamp. Following this debacle, Brandon sent out a different crew; we found out from this crew that Brandon has an electronic device it uses to locate underground conduits like ours. This device found our conduit in less than ten minutes, and the second crew then used the existing conduit to make the repair. In short, the additional work of trenching our yard and laying new conduit the first Brandon crew told us was absolutely necessary, and which resulted in serious damage to our property, was actually completely unnecessary. However, even more galling than the bad work was that Brandon charged us more than $600 for the labor of the first crew, who accomplished nothing but breaking off and ruining both of our lamp posts. Incredibly, Brandon then also charged us for the second crew's labor to replace the posts its first crew had destroyed. In other words, Brandon charged us for its mistakes and the property damage it caused, and then charged us again for the labor to repair the damage Brandon itself had caused. read more

I called Fast Electric and Brandon Electric showed up. My spa was tripping my GFI plug. After checking out the GFI and the spa, the electrician said it was a bad GFI. They didn't have a replacement on the truck and would have to order one and charge me an additional $195. to order the plug and a return trip to install it , this is after charging me $145 for the initial trip. I told him this is crazy not even having a replacement on the truck and then charging me again. I went to Home Depot and spent $20. for a GFI and replaced the plug myself which took 15 minutes. The spa continued to trip the GFI so the GFI was not the problem but the spa itself. This company is a total ripoff and would avoid them and go to someone who is ethical and honest. read more

Anthony fully explained what he was doing and completed my laundry list of electrical tasks to the letter. Everything was completed in the time that they specified and even included him having to come back out another day. The price was very competitive. I would recommend them for your electrical needs. I should have written this review awhile ago as last winter I needed an electrician asap and I couldn't find anyone. These guys came out the same day and fixed the problem and charged a reasonable rate. We had a problem with a condo one of my customers was purchasing. The air conditioner was disconnected and my customer couldn't do her inspection which was scheduled for the following day. I found Brandon Electric to be professional, quick and reasonable. Later in the summer I had another issue with a different house where one electric company quoted a repair (a LOT of money) and then once we got it approved for the cost they said they were not available for weeks! Brandon Electric came out and had the work (which was a lot of work) done in a week. I highly recommend them. read more

07/26/2019 Update: No further response from Brandon Electric....non- functioning generator still sitting in my yard. No refund check to date. 07/15/2019 Update: Called Terry at Brandon Electric this morning at 9:03. Explained to him that we are done waiting for the Generac generator to be made operational. We want the Generac generator removed from our property and our money refunded. Terry agreed to "rip the unit out" but the transfer box would remain. I also stated that the generator could not leave our property until I also had a check for the full amount in-hand, however, I do not k now if Terry heard that since when I was a done her did not respond and was no longer on the call. Shortly after I received two calls from Rexel; one from Bryan and the other from Vinnie, asking to come to the house to continue trouble-shooting. I made my wishes clear to both; that the time for trouble-shooting has over and that trouble-shooting would no longer be persued 07/12/2019 UPDATE: It has been 43 days and counting....Generator still does not run. We do however have a 10 year warranty! Which is worthless at the moment. So we did have Amerigas come out and increased the flow all in agreement flow was correct and decided it was the magneto. Don't forget they did start this generator up and it ran for 20 minutes. Before the gas flow was EVER increased Shut it off and attempted to restart failed. So here we are today. They replaced the magneto and doesn't run. Again saying the flow is incorrect. I recommend currently if you want a Generac generator. Get it from Gererac or anyone except Brandon Electric or anyone that uses the same supplier as Brandon Electric I will continue to update until I have a fully properly functioning generator or 100% refund We contracted with Brandon Electric on 02/04/2019 for a 22KW generac standby generator with an install date of 2/22/19 On 05/28 2019 they brought the generator And collected $7,000.00. They came back on 05/29/2019 to finish the install and collected the balance of $4,322.78 and activated our warranty BEFORE they started it up to ensure it works. They have been out to my home twice to see if they could get it to work. They even called Generac who sent people out 3 times now who cannot get it working. We talked with Nester the office manager on 06/27/2019 who stated he talked with the owner and it would be a week from today before they would have the new replacement ready for delivery and install. I called him back when I realized he was talking about July 4 and wanted to ensure he meant 07/04/2019. However we received no return call. Today (06/28/2019) Michelle from Brandon Electric states they will not replace it since the warranty is active we must keep trying to fix it!.....really? (Yes I know I'm partially at fault here for paying the balance before it was running, however we had used this company many times before without any issues). Very poor customer service and communication Would not recommend this company every again. I am reporting to BBB, etc. I was just notified after this review that they are going to extend my warranty for 10 years at no cost.....what good is a free extended warranty if it has never run in the first place????? Where it the customer service. Is this the kind of service you expect when you're the client? Had undercounter lights that were not working. Paid them to come out and they had me buy new 24v transformers then paid again to have them installed. $700 later they never fixed it and they refused to refund the money!!! We love working with Brandon Electric. We have used their services for a variety of projects and have always received excellent customer service. We have always experienced a high level of service and quality work. We coordinated our projects and appointment with Kelly who was super responsive and easy to communicate with. The estimator, Pepper, who came out to price our projects was prompt and quick in providing the information. Our technician Michael was prompt, called ahead to give us a 30 minute notice of his arrival time, and applied a high level of attention to detail for the various projects he completed. I see some of the other reviews claiming the pricing is too high, but we have never felt it was crazy given the work they were doing and the level of expertise required. For frame of reference, we recently paid $450 to have power split, a fan built and installed (including cutting a hole in the ceiling for access), and a chandelier built and installed. read more

That I honestly was not even aware of when the appointment was made. $429 to install and outlet plug in a bathroom. Let's be honest this is about a $200-$250 job. Please forgive my typo's, bad punctuation grammar errors. The following is my experience of July 20, 2017. Your experience my not turn out the same. Names were not used on purpose. I had high hopes about this electric company. The office girl was very happy sounding on the phone when I called on Monday. I said I had a list of things I needed done. a coaxial outlet installed, replace my doorbell with a security cam doorbell, (2) 7 day timer switches installed to replace the regular switches, remove old master bedroom lamp with a ceiling fan and since I couldn't get up & down a ladder, could they replace the batteries in my (5) smoke detectors. she told me she was sure they could do these things and someone would arrive Thursday to give me a price to do the work. The electrician arrived promptly at 8:00 AM. Watching from the house I saw him take a final drag off a cigarette before coming in. He smelled like he smoked half a pack before arriving. Not a big deal but not very professional either. He asked what I needed and I told him the exact thing I had told the office girl the previous Monday. I thought to myself didn't his boss tell him what he was coming to my house for? What was the point of me telling everything to her? Instantly, he tells me he cannot do the coaxial outlet. Now I am annoyed because I was told on the phone he would. All the other coaxial outlets in my single story home were installed by electricians. So now there is tension between myself and this over confident (almost cocky) electrician. After telling him how I felt about being told one thing could be done and then it not being done, I calm down and told him to just give me a price for whatever he could do. He stepped outside probably to have another cigarette and he said he had to call the shop for prices. At 8:55 AM he returns with a price of $497.00 to replace my doorbell with a security cam doorbell, install (2) 7 day timer switches, a ceiling fan and replace the batteries in my (5) smoke detectors. First up was the Doorbell. He never got it to ring in the house and told me I had to buy an accessory ringer for in the house. I found out after he left that the reason it did not ring in the house was that he left a manufactures sticker that read "remove after installation" on. Next were the switches. He simply could not get one of them work and he call a co-worker for assistance who told him it sounded as he had everything correct. I asked if had a tester to make sure he was using the correct hot (positive) wire. He then went to his truck to retrieve it and he did not have the correct wire hooked up. The batteries in my (5) smoke detectors was done while I took a phone call and it went rather quickly. I think (hope) it was done properly. The ceiling fan took a bit of time to assemble. I notice when he took down the old lamp he did not mark or tape which wire was the hot (positive) one. The ceiling fan was not an easy thing to hang. He struggled and I think anyone would have. He hung it and like I thought ... it didn't work. Long ordeal short, he grabbed one wire and it sparked causing the breaker to trip and it seemed to me like (2) wires were not together tight enough. After resetting the breaker the light worked. I couldn't watch him struggle for the second or third time to hang that back up ... I left the room. The overly confident electrician arrived at 8:00 AM and left my house at 1:40 PM. This was my first time using Brandon Electric. Will I ever use them again? No way. The electrician looked to me to be 30ish years of age and told me he has been an electrician since he was 18 years old. In my opinion, someone with over (10) years experience should not have taken over (3) hours to do these jobs. Would I recommend Brandon Electric to a friend? No .... read more

We originally had a great experience with the company. This time, not so much. They came out to do the job and didn't have the proper equipment even though we had someone come on site to provide a quote. We then got 3 different iterations of a quote and finally on the second attempt they came in to move a light fixture and to install the light. They did good work and the technicians were great, however the technicians charged me one amount to only get a follow up from the office stating that it was more money than the technicians charged me. To me, this is a complete bait and switch. I would not trust any quote you get from the company because they are liable to just change the amount from what the technicians charge you after the service was completed. Hello, this contractor refused to stay behind the warranty. Two breakers need to be replaced under manufacturers warranty such breakers do not break without the reason. Such breakers break only if installed incorrectly. Brandon electric (my research has been done and license holder do not pick up the phone - looks like they use license of somebody else who they worked before and now no longer work with them I asked edmonson company and they say they do not work with brandon electric anymore) I understand I have to pay for labor but breakers has a warranty but brandonelectric refused to come and replace under manufacturers warranty , they say I have to deal with manufacturer directly. Manufacturer do not replace breakers if installed incorrectly ! The house keep shot down the power in some rooms and is a possible fire danger. But the whole experience after you call another company you would know they really sucked. They will tell you spend more money on the things that you don't even need. I had bought my house a year ago, and over time more and more outlets became non-functional. Until I was expecting a (paying) guest and the bathroom one went out too. So I needed some help immediately, on a Saturday. Called Brandon Electric, answering service was friendly and clear, and within an hour I was contacted, 30 mins later Carlos came to my door. He checked on the non-functioning outlets, and replaced the one in the garage. All done in very little time, and all of the outlets are now working! I normally don't bother writing reviews, but BE VERY CAREFUL WHEN DEALING WITH THIS COMPANY. I received a quote for 4 items of work from them 6 months ago. When I contacted them a few weeks ago to do the work, I was told they would have to increase the price due to how old the quote was. Being in business myself, I agreed that was fair and they took this opportunity to charge me 12%!!! above the original quote. When they came to do the job, they were missing components so they only finished 2 of the 4 tasks for which they took half the quoted price. They said they would come again next week to complete the work. When they came for the second part of the job (two track lights in the closet) they said their "new" quote was only for one. I showed the electrician doing the work the original quote was for two lights and that they were charging me 12% more already. Logically speaking why would you charge me 12% above the original quote for 75% of the work originally requested? Instead of choosing to act in good faith and recognize they made an error, They said they had to go by their new incorrect quote with the clerical error and would have to charge me EVEN MORE!! This company does not act in good faith when they make mistakes. That is the definition of an ethically challenged and poorly managed company. BE.VERY.CAREFULL! read more

I was very disappointed in Brandan Electric, not your service, but you. The tech. was great but for what you wanted to charge me for an outside light was outrageous. Then when you wanted the service charge on top of that made me mad. You were the one who changed it before, put in new light, was a two day service. Cost $254 total, no service charge on top of that. Yesterday total would have come over $700. I probably would have got it if the $140 was not charged on top of that, but to pay over $800 for a backyard light, not from me. Also last time I got a senior discount, the tech. didn't know anything about that, which the girl said I should mention that to the tech. so all I can say is I will never use your service again and already told my friends not to use you also . I called Brandon Electric on Dec 18 in the morning. The lady that answered the phone told me that they can come out between 1-3pm that day. I asked if they can install my outlets same day, she said yes they will do it when they arrive if we agree on the price. I asked if the coupon on Angie's List was the best deal they had, she said yes. I verified I can use it same day I purchased it. She told me they charge $165 per hour, so the coupon I bought on Angie's List for $225 for $330 worth of work (2 hours @ $165 each) made sense. I got a call from David the tech around noon saying they were at the location, I told him they were supposed to call ahead and the appointment was between 1-3pm so they are way early. I ran over to my office and I showed David the 5 places I wanted outlets, I told him I may get less installed if it would be less, but if he can do all the work for the 2 hours I bought then of course do all 5 outlets. I asked him if he can do it that day and he said no, we do not have materials on the truck, maybe Friday. I said that is not what I was told, I said the lady I spoke to said you can do it immediately if we agree on a price. He said it's not possible, she is mistaken. Since I had already bought 2 hours, I told him to give me a quote and we can go from there. He told me he can do all the work for $570. I told him that was acceptable. I got a call later that day from the lady that I talked to earlier, she was asking if I wanted to schedule them to come out so I can use the coupon. I said They has already come out and quoted me $570 and are coming Friday to do the work, she had no clue. I asked how I redeem the coupon and she said give it to David when he comes out Friday. He came back Friday and installed 5 outlets. He left for almost 45 min to get some supplies he forgot from Home Depot, so he was not working the full 4 hours that they claim they were there. He put one outlet in the wrong spot and said he was sorry but he thought that is where I asked him to put it. After the work was done he said the total due was $570. I said, I bought a coupon on Angie's List for $225 for 2 hours and I have a $20 coupon. He said he can take the $20 Off but the $570 is after the 2 hour coupon was applied. I said I was never told the $570 was after the coupon was applied. I said, you quoted $570 total, not a higher amount and after the coupon was $570. He said sorry, I thought you knew. He said didn't the lady you spoke to tell you. No, she didn't tell me anything. He said the total was $795, but after the Angie's List coupon it came out to $570. I said who would buy a $225 coupon to get $225 off? Makes no sense. You are overcharging me, I want to speak to a manager. He call Nestor " the manager" and told him I didn't know that $570 was the payment after the coupon. I spoke to Nestor and explained the situation and he told me that he was sorry it was not explained correctly but I owe $570 and the only thing he can do is honor the $20 Coupon. I told him if he does not make this right I will Be sure to review Brandon Electric on all online places. They didn't care, ran the CC for $550 and sent a WO with 6 outlets not 5, which is not true and 3.88 hours at $141.75 to equal $550. I wound up paying $225 + $550 = $775 ($199 per hour according to their 3.88 hour time stamp) I am guessing some of the expense may have been materials, but I was never given a written estimate or told the breakdown, only that the total of the quote to do the work was $570. My father in law had a failed dryer breaker at his home. In order to bring the service up to code, I knew that it needed a new wire, conduit, a 4 prong plug and a new breaker. I have a background in construction, so I knew what was involved. I called Brandon Electric and spoke to Nestor. I described exactly what was needed... approximately 40' of wire (25' of distance from panel, 6' rise to the attic and 8' drop inside the garage) and the above other items. He took some time and gave me a ballpark price of $270, which he said included everything that would be needed including the new plug. They scheduled for an electrician to come out (6 days later). Today, their guy shows up and then calls and says the job will be $650! I tried to explain to the man on-site what had been described and even if there was a 10' difference in distance, he agreed that wire doesn't cost that much. I then called the office and spoke to Nestor, who said he only provided a "ballpark price". I told him that being off by 240% doesn't even get you in the same city, let alone the ballpark. I asked him to explain why there was a $370 change when I gave him exactly what was needed and all he could say was "it was only a ballpark figure". So either they were lying specifically to get someone out there and force the situation, or they are incompetent. Either way, that's not an electrical firm I think anyone wants working on their home. read more

Andrew and Aaron did a fantastic job installing a new pool electric panel and connecting a new pool pump. It is my policy to know as much as I can about the work and items installed in/on my home by reading manufacturers installation and operating instructions. That being said I know I am an aggravation for many technicians that perform work on my house. I learned the hard way over the years that I had paid for work that turned out to be incorrect or substandard after the fact. Both Andrew and Aaron were courteous and answered my questions during the work and I couldn't be more satisfied with the work.
