She was incredibly professional, friendly, and made me feel completely at ease throughout the process. After the test, Melissa took the time to thoroughly review the results with me, ensuring I understood everything clearly and answering all of my questions. Tried another clinic on the west end, top of the line aids for $2500 less and no charge to try for a week. I cannot emphasize enough how ludicrous it is to sell a pair of hearing aids for $8000. A completely different experience. Please please price shop as they are not offering anything more than other audiologists, just extremely high prices. Clinic does not have a small business feel anymore. Incredible staff turnover over the years, which impacts how a patient is cared for. High prices, average service.

Both Wendy (the office manager) and Arshdeep (the audiologist) are very knowledgeable and efficient, while at the same time demonstrating strong listening and problem solving skills along with flexibility and initiative in helping the client navigate the bureaucratic systems involved, such as getting the ADP form signed. What I particularly like about the Hearing Institute of Ontario is their independence as a private clinic rather than a chain company which is partial to particular brands of hearing aids. As such, I could trust Arshdeep's judgement of the best model of hearing aid for my complex needs. She also took the time to answer my questions about the technology of Oticon Real and CROS, so that I could conclude for myself the suitability of that type of hearing aid. What was truly amazing was her theoretical understanding and recognition of the interrelationship among several symptoms I was experiencing involving hearing, vision and balance, as well as a knowledge of resources. She even filled out a form outlining these symptoms to take to my family doctor. Before I got the new hearing aids, I was quite concerned about my diminished speech recognition, but was relieved to find that this hearing aid made a big improvement in the situation. I've been around the block many times when it comes to hearing aid providers, on behalf of myself and my mother, so there isn't much I haven't seen. I believe this is definitely a place I can trust.
