Both Wendy (the office manager) and Arshdeep (the audiologist) are very knowledgeable and efficient, while at the same time demonstrating strong listening and problem solving skills along with flexibility and initiative in helping the client navigate the bureaucratic systems involved, such as getting the ADP form signed. What I particularly like about the Hearing Institute of Ontario is their independence as a private clinic rather than a chain company which is partial to particular brands of hearing aids. As such, I could trust Arshdeep's judgement of the best model of hearing aid for my complex needs. She also took the time to answer my questions about the technology of Oticon Real and CROS, so that I could conclude for myself the suitability of that type of hearing aid. What was truly amazing was her theoretical understanding and recognition of the interrelationship among several symptoms I was experiencing involving hearing, vision and balance, as well as a knowledge of resources. She even filled out a form outlining these symptoms to take to my family doctor. Before I got the new hearing aids, I was quite concerned about my diminished speech recognition, but was relieved to find that this hearing aid made a big improvement in the situation. I've been around the block many times when it comes to hearing aid providers, on behalf of myself and my mother, so there isn't much I haven't seen. I believe this is definitely a place I can trust.
