I am extremely disappointed in the service and lack of accountability here. I was sent to this location by Discount Tire after a tire rotation and balance triggered a "Service Brake Pads" light. Despite the light coming on immediately after the wheels were handled, Discount Tire did absolutely nothing to check the sensors or verify if a wire had been nudged or damaged during their service. They simply passed the buck. When I got to Brakes Plus, they didn't even bother taking the tires off to perform a visual inspection of the sensors or wiring. Instead, their idea of "diagnostics" was having a technician drive my car and repeatedly slam on the brakes. This reckless testing immediately triggered a much more serious, red "BRAKE" warning light that was never there before. To top it off, when I called to report the new light, they told me I'd have to pay a diagnostic fee to find out what happened. I shouldn't have to pay to find out what they broke while "testing" a problem they didn't cause but certainly made worse. Both shops failed to do the bare minimum--actually looking at the vehicle--and I'm left with a car that is now throwing major safety warnings. So after getting only a blank stare and no response, I assumed he did not hear me. I repeated myself a bit more frantic because every moment-I was losing tire pressure. He said, "I heard you, but this is Brakes Plus. We do not do anything with tires." The literal tone he gave, he was calling me an idiot. We brought my son's car in for a tune-up and were advised it needed spark plugs, belts, and oil leak repairs. We paid approximately $680 for those services. One week later, the check engine light returned. We paid an additional $100 diagnostic fee and were again told the vehicle needed spark plugs, belts, and oil leak repairs -- the same items we had just paid for. After discussions with management, we were charged roughly another $500 under what was described as "warranty" work. A month later, the check engine light came back on. At that point, we sought two independent evaluations without disclosing prior repairs. Both mechanics confirmed the spark plugs were still factory (had not been replaced), the belts needed replacement, and there is now a significant oil leak. We have documentation, invoices, and third-party confirmations supporting this timeline. In total, we have spent nearly $2,000 and the original issues were never properly repaired. I went to brakes plus hoping to get my brakes fix because the condition they are in is to where the petal goes down to the floor and stops slowly, in order to fully stop i have to pump the breaks. I was informed to get 2 roaders and 2 break pads for nearly 700$ which was not the issue. Now i realize coming to this shop was a big mistake because after i got my car back it was not fixed at all if anything it is worse now . DO NOT RECOMMEND. read more

Pretty busy on Saturday. Glad I made an appointment. Even then, they're backed up for brake services. They told me an hour, and it's looking like about that. Once I finished up, they reviewed a few recommendations, but did not significantly pressure me to have those done. I sincerely appreciate not having the hard sell approach. They were also quick to recognize my veteran status, and I appreciated the attention and small discount applied to my total bill. More importantly, I appreciated the straightforward information about their status and progress in the maintenance bay. We used to go to Kwik Kar on Main Street for regular car maintenance, but as you can read in another review of mine, the change in ownership has also resulted in a change of customer service. I had taken my car to this location before for both brake service, and for my annual state inspection and had no significant issues, so I was happy that I was able to bring my car here for its regular oil change and experience the same customer service. After so many bad experiences with various locations, I decide to give the little Elm location a shot. Last Thursday i went there they suggested A diagnostics, then came back suggesting a fuel induction service; they said they did and it did not help. it did not need any tune up or changing the coil the sit on top Cost of $213.95 after 4 hours being there. They wanted to check one more but Travis the GM did not have the machine to test till the next day. Came back early on Friday to that 4 more hours on Friday and Travis wrote up the new estimite @ $800 flat to change 1 Injector + labor. When i started to question Dillien $175 for one injector + $625 in labor ; He went back to travis and came back with a $900 quote with a new break down Labor $350 Injector went up to 208.99 And came up with new part that i was not aware of Fuel damper $311.99. It sounded De javou all over just a typical practice from all my past experience; Whatever happen to honesty is the best policy. It does not exsist here. When shady stuff like that happened it leave a bad taste in your month and the trust is gone. This not the way to build customer loyalty and repeated guests to your shop . Based on Little Elm recommendation on the injector #4 i called the Prosper location and talked to Dave gave a quote for the 4 injectors $774.70 and he said he has the part to fix it on Saturday . New updated , I went to Valvoline today and they did fuel induction and the stuff the came out from that unbelievable that proof to me the little Elm did not do squad ! I have had all my vehicles serviced at this location for brakes. In 2023, brought my Ford F150 in for brake services and was told I needed pads and rotor service. I paid for all the work that was recommended. Several weeks later the brakes just seemed a bit off, like something was grinding too hard. I brought the truck back and was told that the tech did not finish putting the brakes back together properly, but now they are fixed. They did not charge me for this visit since it was under warranty and clearly their fault. Fast forward to 18 months later and the front left brake has now fallen apart. I immediately drove the truck up to Brakes Plus to have them check it out. I was told that a bolt that holds the caliper is missing. The tech advised that he had no idea how it happened, but the bolt must have backed its way out somehow and is now missing. The repairs to fix it are $600. I called the customer service department and explained that I do not feel I should pay for something out of my control and is not part of the normal wear and tear on the brakes. Customer service had the District Manager call me back. He was very nice explaining to me that this was not their fault and they were not responsible for the missing bolt. The District Manager advised that there is no way that they were responsible and advised that it might have happened at another CarFax repair shop. I told him that I just had tune up and a coolant flush, but no other work has been performed on the vehicle. Especially not the tires or brakes. I told the District Manager that I could not trust them to fix my brakes if I cannot rely on them to install them properly. The District Manager insists this is not their fault so I am forced to take this to another shop that stand behind their work. I would never use another Brakes Plus again after being a long term customer. read more

Brought my car in for state inspection and was told my power steering was leaking. Wanted to charge me $99 to put a die in to find the leak. I said no and took it home and my husband put the die in and no leak. Took it back after 4 days and it passed with nothing being done to my car. Woman beware they will try and scam you. Wouldn't even give them one star. We called a few days ago to verify they do 5th wheel trailer inspections. They said yes. We called today and verified one more time and they said yes. Only reason we verified twice was due to driving this 42 foot house on wheels in a parking lot can be challenging. We even drove down in a car to plan out our parking. We get there today with the trailer and they said " no we don't do inspections on 5th wheels!" They said there has been a lot of moving parts around here. Before I start, I've been going to this breaks plus location since 2016. After 2020 I started going to other places due to a very noticeable quality change. I wish I would have stayed away. My car was having transmission issues unknown to me at the time. After $2,000 the problem still persisted. They then said it was my catalytic converter going bad and quoted me 2900 for the part and labor. You read that correctly. They're annoyed with you for even being there. Every time I would call for an update I would get a disgruntled mechanic giving me the run around. The generic "we care about your business" brakes plus account that responds to these ACTUAL reviews is an absolute joke. Save yourself a ton of money and headache and go literally anywhere else. I wish I could give 0 stars so other people can be aware of this constantly downward spiraling business. read more

Avoid this location at all costs. This place is a joke. I took my car in a couple weeks ago for realignment and found out I needed both front control arms replaced and had an "oil" leak. These guys tried to charge me $660 EACH for the control arms that I could buy myself for under $100 each. Oh, and that "oil" leak I mentioned earlier, wasnt even the oil leaking. So they got me for over $400 on that deal. All in all, they quoted me over $2500 worth of "repair" that I was able to have repaired at another place of business for a FRACTION of the cost. I took my 2015 Tahoe in for an oil change and used a $10 off coupon. It still cost me $115.80 which I questioned him why it was so high. He told me their prices have gone up so I paid it. After I got home I noticed on my receipt they charged me for 9 quarts of Dexos Synthetic oil. ($10.49/quart). My 5.3 liter engine only holds 8 quarts. I won't be returning to the Little Elm location. I had a poor experience the past 2 times, I figured I'd give it one more try before I take my vehicles into a newer/closer to me shop - I shouldn't have given them so many chances. I took my wife's car here after making an appointment. I left it with them all day, came by to pick it up - they never got a chance to look at it, and told me to come back tomorrow. I did, this time I waited (didn't have a ride). They said it'd be about 45 minutes for brake service; at the 45 minute mark the car was still in the parking spot where I left it. I inquired about the delay, they brought it back a half hour later and got new brakes on in 20 minutes or so. Painful 2-day experience for 20'ish minutes of work. Fast forward to this morning, I brought my vehicle in, again, after making an appointment. The gentleman who checked me in said it would take approximately an hour for an oil change. I waited an hour, and vehicle was still in the parking lot where I left it! He said mine is next, though... I was tired of them wasting my time so I took it to a new place. I will NEVER go to Brakes Plus, Little Elm again! So many chances to redeem themselves and they failed every time. read more

Shady practices... by the manager (Chris) nonetheless. Went in for an alignment, and had the brakes checked. Was told by Chris that the front pads were just barely a few mm left - and was nearing the 'danger' zone. When asked about the rotors, he said the rotors couldn't be machined as they were out of spec and would not be safe. He said he could order the parts and we could meet up the next day for the brake work. Like I normally do, I took it to a couple of other places for a 2nd and 3rd opinion - including a dealership. Both places measured the front/rear pads, and rotors. Front pads and rotors were practically brand new to factory specs. Rear had barely any wear. I know businesses are hurting because of the COVID-19 pandemic right now, but trying to take advantage of people is the wrong way of trying to make a profit. read more

BUYER BEWARE!!! Most of these reviews, if not ALL reviews are bought. I took my wife's car for a simple brake pad replacement. The person that help us out told us that we would get a discount if we left a good review on google maps! That should have been my 1st RED FLAG- When I picked up the car the next day, the brake pad had a "mushy" feel to it. Foot almost went to the floor. Wife took her car back to let them know and they told her that the brake booster needed to be replaced and a bunch of other BS. Why didn't they tell me this when I picked up the car the day before? Don't techs have to test drive the car after the repair is done to make sure that the job was done right? Or it could be the fact that they don't know how to calibrate the brakes correctly!!! 2 days and $500.00 + later- my wife's car feels no better than when they did initial work. NEVER COMING HERE AGAIN!!! NOW I HAVE TO WORRY ABOUT MY CHILD AND WIFE SAFETY E/A TIME THEY GET ON THE ROAD B/C BRAKES PLUS COULD NOT DO THE JOB RIGHT AND WE WERE CHARGED FOR THEIR MISTAKES. As a female who has dealt with many mechanics, I cannot say enough good things about Jason and his team at this BP location. Not only did he go out of his way to ensure I was getting the best price for the parts I needed (catalytic converter and O2 sensors), he also took time to ensure I understood which work was necessary versus which was optional. I never felt pressured, and he was extremely friendly and respectful. Out of 7 auto repair places I called to get quotes, Jason and his team were the nicest of them all, while also being fairly priced! Not to mention, they were able to have the repairs done nearly the same day (staff was friendly when I dropped the car off too!) ON TOP OF ALL THAT, they even offered to drive my car back to my house IN THE SNOW (which they did)!! I still cannot believe how easy, nice, and fair this experience was.
