Went in for a ac recharge. 1.5 hours later I am charged for an AC inspection and told I need a ac compressor and they can't charge the system. Called corporate and complained. No call back from district manager. Went home and charged the ac myself.... No issues. Took freon with no issue. Absolutely trash. Charge me for a service I did not request and lie about what needed repaired.... Went from 93 degree "ac" down to 50 degrees in 25 mins. Better to do it yourself.... read more

My car decided to act up after lunch at Culver's, and after giving me a Parking Brake warning message I could get no response when trying to start it. A tow through Honda services was 1.5 to 2 hours out, so I walked the quarter mile or so to Brakes Plus to see if they could help (I bypassed a closer service because I've normally had better experiences with Brakes Plus). I drive here after noticing a grinding sound when braking. After the inspection they told me a I need all new rotors, pads, and calipers. I told them I was on a tight timeline and would like to come back the next day. They insisted my 4-runner could be driven without ruining the master cylinder. The assured me they could meet my time line so I had them go ahead with the replacement. When returned ready to pick it up the manager told me they were "almost done". 2 weeks ago I took my car in for an oil change and was told by my dealership that I needed new brake pads and would need to do it fairly soon to keep the rotors from needing to be replaced as well. I felt dealership costs would be more so I decided to give Brakes Plus a shot. I went in knowing I didn't need new rotors yet. After 45 minutes of dropping off my car off, I got a call saying I would need to do the "premium" brake package because the rotors were basically gone and it was "metal on metal" the cost was going to be nearly $500. I picked up my car. Made an appt with in the hour at Honda and NO rotor replacement needed!!! I was looking forward to having an honest car service location closer to me. Shame on Brakes Plus. I'll gladly drive a little further to get honest, reliable, and affordable service at a dealership. read more

Be warned, Brakes Plus pays their employees a salary, plus a 15% commission on services they can talk you into, whether it's needed or not. My brakes were done here and they got rust on them within the first eight months! It was also insanely overpriced and took six hours with an appointment. My car is 13 years old and I've never had my brakes rust after getting them replaced, until Brakes Plus. When I asked the employees about it they replied that it's "normal". Wow, for the "Premium Brake Service" be sure to expect rust! The oil change that I received was almost twice what they'd charged me six months prior for EXACTLY the same service. When I showed my previous invoice to the employee at the counter he said, "I'm not in charge of the pricing". He also made the mistake of trying to "mansplain" to which I quickly shut him down, because he was a condescending imbecile who rambled incessantly. If they offer you a "free tire rotation" with your oil change, know that they will then up charge you for the premium oil change and not the basic, even though at check in they will not tell you this fact. When he told me my cabin air filter needed to be changed, I asked to see it and the guy told me the "tech is new and having trouble getting it out". Hmmm...how do they know it needs to be changed, if they can't get the damned thing out?When I offered to do it for them, it miraculously appeared. They also tried to upsell me a new shocks & struts service for $1800, that I didn't need. I'd had that service done at a dealership two years ago. The employee backpedaled because the service wasn't listed on Carfax and he knew I caught him lying. Not all auto services participate with Carfax. The employee then tried telling me how not having my services listed on Carfax will lower the resale value, but that's BS because I have every invoice from all services done on my car for over a decade. People are shocked when I tell them my car is 13 years old because it still looks like new and it will resale for top dollar, especially if I never trust my car with Brakes Plus again! Don't believe the fake Google reviews and notice that for every negative Yelp review, the manager has people write several new five star reviews to try and keep up their fake 5 star rating. It's a shame that they do the typical dishonest games. They'd get more business by being honest and having integrity. Clearly, the employees here have no shame in lying to your face and stealing from customers, which is exactly what they are doing when they try to dishonestly pad pricing, lie to your face and take advantage of your trust. read more

They have had my daughters car for seven days and still can't tell her when she can have it back. It is for front brakes. It needed a master cylinder and the premium service of course with new parts. However the light would not go off but they told her to drive it anyway and then bring it back. She did. Now they can't get the bubbles out and replaced the master cylinder again. This is not rocket science and you claim to be brake professionals but I know ASE mechanics that could rebuild an entire brake system in one day without issue. Instead. $1,700.00 dollars, seven days without a car, creating more problems than you understand. Every communication has had to be initiated by me or my daughter because they don't want to tell you anything because they apparently don't know anything. Extremely disappointed read more

I had an issue while pulling my camper across the country and it happened on a Saturday. Nothing much was open on a Saturday and truly didn't high expectations as I have a Ram 3500. I thought it was brakes and they could have replaced all my brakes and made more money, but instead, they diagnosed exactly what it was, fixed it within a couple of hours, and boom, back on the road. What a bunch of professionals. You can tell how much they love their job by how clean their environment is. What a pleasure and I would recommend them for anything. read more

Don't take your vehicle there. I brought my car there for a simple alignment after given a $20 off coupon for putting on new tires at Discount Tires. They told me that they couldn't do the alignment unless I put $3,000 worth of parts into my vehicle. This was after I had the vehicle inspected at a reputable dealership. Brakes Plus wanted $2,000 in labor for this repair. I then took it to a reputable mechanic nearby and they aligned it without any mention of all these needed repairs. Brakes Plus upsells which is not okay! Stay away from this place at all costs. As an honest person, I find this business practice to be disturbing and unethical. read more

My wife took our truck here. They tried scamming us for $2500. Another reputable shop examined our truck after we received this estimate and not only is the work brakes plus suggesting unnecessary, it is not a safety concern or immediate concern. Yes there is a tear in the rubber boot on the ball joint. This does not constitute needing upper control arms, ball joints, struts and rear shocks. The real concern is the clanking noise that developed the moment my wife left brakes plus. Turns out once the lug nuts were tightened the noise stopped. The concern is they allowed my wife and children to drive off with loose lug nuts. This shop is a scam, they lie, they try to upsell unnecessary work and they can't even put wheels back on and tighten lug nuts. DO NOT TAKE YOUR VEHICLE HERE! read more

I brought my car in for an oil change this morning around 9am. Was told 2-3 hrs wait time (completely understandable with a walk in) at noon I get a phone call from a woman stating my brakes aren't good. I asked for a quote and she said they'll evaluate and call me back. 45 mins passes and nothing so I call. They stated they were waiting on me to make a decision ( given no further information on my brakes, what needs fixed, quotes) on my brakes. I stated no one called me and that I just want my oil changed. The man on the phone stated that my oil had not been changed yet and they would start on it and should be done in 30 mins. Another 30 mins pass and I come in to ask about my car. The man proceeds to tell me a piece of my car was broken and they ordered a new part and are waiting on it from autozone. No one told me this information until I walked in. Almost 4.5 hours later and I'm sitting waiting for my car that I can't get back until a part is delivered???? I am beyond upset and will never come back to this business again. Zero communication. read more

I've got to say that after everything that I've had to deal with with my car this is the best place to take her. I have a 2006 VW beetle and leave beetle and I had taken her to a it's to a repair shop that was supposed to do my alignment and they were supposed to do the adjustments adjustments for my my subframe and when they went through to do that they did not knock down my bolts properly and ended up causing a danger to me and the people will riding in my vehicle. This place went through and with the extra mild make sure everything was aligned properly took the extra time the extra time to make Sure my car is safe. If you have problems with any other shocks I would highly recommend them for being able to go through and get things done. They will explain things the way you need them too if you need them broken down and you're struggling to understand it because you're not normally a person who's around cars they're really good at that as well. I scheduled an appointment online the evening prior and we were able to get our delivery truck in first thing the next morning. Dishonest and manipulative thieves. By disclosing that I lived in the mountains and in another town and had some ongoing suspension light issues they took their opportunity to scare me into paying $5000 for a suspension when part of it had been recently re-done and saying "I don't think your car will make it home if you don't do this service today". They took pictures of my parts to show my home shop that some parts were "blown out" and "leaking." After speaking with claim adjusters and asking them to review documents from a deer collision accident that occurred some weeks before seeing brakes plus, they confirmed that nowhere near as many things were as wrong as they say. Cannot be trusted, and any auto company would likely be better than Brakes Plus. I took a chance on convenience, and a corporate chain and I paid dearly. I will never make the same mistake again. Further, once back at my home shop I had Berthod GMC call Brakes plus and discuss the overcharges. Brakes plus were caught in many lies regarding the service and practices and yet are being slow to admit the fault in their overbilling and attempting not to make the situation right. read more

We bought a truck unseen and had it shipped here. There ended up being some issues with the truck, so on the advice of a friend we took it to Brakes Plus in Loveland. Kaitlyn, the store manager, was amazing! Professional and helpful she let us know what was going on every step of the way and was transparent on everything.
