My brakes were really squeaking even when I drove so I went there to have them check it out, and they were so professional and they came back and told me it was my rotors because I just had my brakes done. Which I knew so I wanted to see honestly what they would tell me! They didn't try to upsell anything on me. They went through the car and did like I don't know a 12 point check and didn't to try to tell me this was wrong or this was wrong! . They just took care of the problem I was there for it was really awesome!! I highly recommend them especially as a woman going in there alone they were Awesome! Wasn't taken advantage of! read more

I was in need of brake service due to some noise coming from the brakes. I showed up without an appointment (appointment system fail) and dropped my vehicle off. Some 90 minutes later, I get the call that my vehicle was ready for pickup. The service tech explained the issues in great detail, which is always a good sign of an honest business. The brake inspection was free of charge (we all know about the up-sale of work/parts that are not needed). My vehicle was working correctly, however, the brake dust was the cause of the noise. They cleaned it up and fixed the problem with 'no pressure sales' which in my book is top notch service. I will be a return customer. read more

I took my 2018 4Runner here on August 15th for a routine oil change. I should have known better than to take it here as this will be the THIRD such issue I've had with the quality of work done. Whoever did the oil change should be fired and never allowed to work on another vehicle. The oil filter was Barely tightened and could be easily manipulated by hand which should NEVER happen. I drove from Tucson to Colorado and by the grace of god didn't have any issues. I noticed oil dripping from the bottom of my 4Runner and immediately knew that you guys had screwed up again. I needed an AC check and they wanted to charge $160 just to look at my car. The management here keeps changing and every time it gets worse and worse. I ended up going to Brake Max in the same plaza and they only charged $34.99 to do the AC check. read more

If it's anything more then a simple oil change, spend the extra money somewhere else and get the job done right, I had my car worked on here and have had several issues with my it regarding the work they did despite them guaranteeing they had fixed the problem, not only was it not fixed my car is actually worse off, I brought my car back twice and informed the crew the jobs was not properly done, the second time they kept my car for 9 days without so much as a single phone call or text message for an update and told me they were unable to locate the issue despite being certain they knew what the issue was when they charged my almost 2000 dollars. Brought my car in for a brake check because it was making some noise. Technicians did a thorough look. Determined that I had no major safety issues with my brakes and that the noise was probably was from the fact that I had new pads installed over older rotors at my last brake servicing (not at Brake Masters). Advisor reiterated that it wasn't a safety issue and simply suggested that I do a front wheel change at some point in the future. No charge for the check. This location is run by con artists. As a single mom, I don't appreciate being lied to by mechanics that use fear tactics regarding my brakes. I left w problems I didn't have when I went in. I came back to hopefully let them fix their mistakes & they conned more money out of me I'm filing a report w BBB but on top of everything I found out they actually pay ppl for good reviews. I used to like them. They fixed my brakes twice, once free of charge. Cliff, the manager at the time even gave me a card with a free oil change. Well, found out today he had left and not on good terms. Therefore, i did not get a free oil change. I did get a discount, but still. They said he commonly gave cards with free oil changes, and they've had to turn down 3-4 customers a week! C'mon though. Don't bring up drama. And stick to your word. I have always had an honest diagnosis from Adam and crew. Latest was a dead battery and it was suggested that I go to Kia dealer as it would still be warrantied by them and Brake Masters would charge about $150 to do the work. I knew he was right but I elected to have them do it for convenience. They squeezed me in and had me back in business in no time. On another visit I had a an old reliable Toyota that had an oil leak and another I couldn't ID. Asked them if it was worth fixing and was told they didn't feel it would be, so I drove it for another year, living with the leaks. That is honesty. read more

I feel like I'm part of a family when I walk into this store. Cliff is not only hilarious, he is is extremely knowledgeable and honest. So is the manager. Service is quick and I've never been offered service other than what is required maintenance on my car at that milage. Yes I do my homework before I go in. They even explain sometimes when I think I need a certain flush that it's not necessarily needed at this time and I could probably go 1 to 2 more oil changes before that extra extra service is needed. I drive a hybrid and one time my battery was dead. Hybrid batteries are expensive and no one usually carries them except for the dealers. Cliff spent over an hour calling all different Break Masters and other auto shops he knew. I did end up having to go to the dealer to get the battery, but the folks at this Break Masters felt so bad for having to send me to the dealer to buy the battery at dealer prices, they had me bring the battery back and installed it for free. They saved me about $200 by doing this! Great people and great service. read more

WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER!!! I was told I would have to wait 1 hour for brake pads. I sat in your stupid lobby for 3 HOURS and 40 minutes!!! The rude guy at the front never communicated anything to me about the time being longer. He only kept lying to me saying it would be 10 minutes longer over and over. Great managers and awesome staff. We've been taking our vehicles (3) to these guys for years. They always take great care of our family, they treat us like their own. We trust them so much we asked them to replace a car engine in our 2011 Nissan Sentra. Did an amazing job. In addition, I recently needed the passenger mirror installed on my Mustang GT. Did an excellent job and charged a very fair price. Was very fearful of what it could cost but was relieved. Micheal's customer service was fantastic and he answered every single question I had. He made sure I was able to leave the same day with all my new repairs. Called to check how busy they we're for an oil change and was told 30-40 mins, which is often the lure to get you in, but I went. The fill-in manager this day was very professional and walked me through my options for an oil change. He gave me a discount from a local coupon and had my vehicle in and out in less than 40 mins!! Very nice business and true to their word! It was also nice that he didn't try to upsell me on needless services that would normally cost a lot more. I'll be back for sure! read more

DO NOT GO! i went to the store to replace oxygen sensor and trip check. A little later, Manager showed me leaking coolant and recommended replacing both the radiator coolant hoses for $200. I sensed a scam and refused his recommendation. Today, i went to another repair shop to identify the root cause of the leaking coolant. The technician performed pressure test for $20 and found that there was no leak, but the hose clamp was loose? What do you guys think? The Manager at Brake masters wrongly mis-diagnosed the leak or he knowingly loosened the hose clamp. read more

I took my F150 in to have them look at a possible coolant leak. Adam had one his guys pull the truck and get it on a lift to look. A few minutes later they determined it to be condensation from the humidity. I asked how much and they said there was no charge. I will definitely be bringing my vehicles back to this location. read more

UNDER NEW MANAGEMENT, and these guys are crooks! They quoted me $189 prior to the repair and then charged me $251 when I picked the car up. I've since spoken to other (former) customers, and it sounds like I got off easy. Shout out to Adam at Brake Masters in Oro Valley. Honesty is sometimes hard to find in the car repair business and it's refreshing when you find one of the good ones. We've taken other cars there for routine maintenance but my car spent some time at the dealer recently for a major warranty repair. The dealer recommended new brakes but I wanted to get another price because it seemed high. Had Brake Masters take a look and not only was the estimate around half of the dealer cost, he also told me if I wanted to wait until after the holidays I definitely had more life on my brakes than what the dealer was suggesting. Will definitely be returning in a couple months but appreciate the honesty and integrity and wanted to give them a recommendation :-) read more

So I came into this store on a Friday afternoon, every bay had a car in it and I thought to myself there is no way they are going to help me. The guy up front I think his name was Adam told me "no problem sir" within 15mins my car was in a he air and my tires were off. Good news! I found John, the honest and highly competent former manager who is now with Fletchers on Tangerine and Thornydale. A bit of a drive, but well worth it for the integrity and peace of mind. Not realizing that John had moved on and Brake Masters is under new management, I brought in my car last month when the low battery light came on. They installed a new battery but didn't bother to check the alternator - probably because they focused so much attention on selling me a new set of struts. 100 miles later the new battery died and I almost had an accident when the electrical system just shut down. I came here for YEARS, since I could drive actually, the owner was great, friendly and they always did a great job. He was soooooooo good! But then they went through a restructuring plan, got ride of the fantastic management and mechanics team. I CAME IN FOR AN OIL CHANGE AND ENDED UP GETTING A WHOLE DIFFERENT ENGINE! Got my oil change and road trip check up before I went to Phoenix for the day, all was good. A week or two later I was heading up first ave. right after river up the hill and my car completely craps out, I had to have it towed, I had to use a company car before my rental came through. The lady at the rental car area they used right next door was rude and made me feel like I was an inconvenience. Turns out someone forgot to tighten a valve and there is oil ALL OVER MY ENGINE! Because of this I needed a whole new engine in my car! They told me they would replace my engine for a new one *cough cough* they didn't give me a new engine they gave me a newER engine, supposedly, that had less miles. Sorry, but you WRECKED MY CAR and made it UNDRIVABLE. Not only that once the newER engine was in I went to get groceries and my car over heated and I had to be towed back to them. Overall, this place is now a nightmare. My car is worth less because of needing an engine replacement than if it had other wise, possibly causing me thousands. I went to a Lawyer and they told me it would cost about the same to hire them as it would to have a NEW engine put in. I used to love this place, I would recommend everyone come here. Not now. My mom and I would come here often and we would always have a great time talking with the management team and staff, not now, after this she will not take a car here. She has a 2014 corvette stingray, dodge srt-10 with a viper engine, and a dodge larime all of which would have been serviced here, until this happened. Now we just pay more to go to the dealer, it's worth it. Don't go here if you care about the vehicle you drive. This was a year or two ago but I am still really ticked off this happened in the first place and I don't assume anything has changed. My car has not been the same since. It does not drive the same as it used too and overall just feels completely different while driving. I paid for one car and got another, simply by having an oil change. Not my cup of tea. Any place you need to replace your engine when getting an oil change isn't good. Don't come here. This was the one and only car that my father helped me to pick out before he died of cancer, it is a very sentimental vehicle to me, and is/was/has been completely ruined since he died of cancer shortly after. I feel like now I have to have either a proper working car, and sell this one, or keep it to remember my father. I wanted to keep this car forever because of the sentimental value, and I hate that because of their screw up I even contemplate selling it. It never was/has been/or will be the same vehicle I bought. Shame on you!!!!!!! Bring back 2007 management team!!!!! We had new engine mounts fitted and repair to a leaky gearbox 3 months ago.. They initially fitted the wrong engine mounts and had to order a new set. Now our gearbox is leaking again. Can't recommend this place for real repairs. read more
