Genuine and knowledgeable... what a difference from other locations!

I need to downgrade because it turns out that the actual manager (Nick) is a schmuck. A total schmuck who lies and slides around in manufactured vagueness in order to pad the bill, Nick makes doing business here exhausting and unsettling. The guy doing the actual work on my car is nice and seems competent, so the whole review is that minus Nick, plus the other manager. Yeah... Nick is that much of a schmuck.

If you value your money and time don't come here. I made an appointment for 2 pm on a Tuesday, I came in at 1:25 and they did a brake inspection, they said the front rotors needed replacing, new pads were needed, the rear breaks were fine except for a leak in the cylinder, they gave me a quote of around 580 (that's including a full flush, keep that in mind) I said ok great let's get this done, at 2:30 I say hey what time do you think this will be done? they said around 5. I Ubered home and returned at around 4:50 and they hadn't even started on my vehicle yet, I asked what's going on and Jeff said, oh we didn't even get your rotors until 20 minutes ago, the shop closes at 5:30 so at least they could have called to tell me know they couldn't get the job done and to come back tomorrow if the parts were running that late. So now they start rushing to finish everything, at this point I knew there was no good outcome. At around 5:20 Jeff said come here and take a look we have something to show you "This part is really loose, this might have been rocking back and forth and the bolts might even be damaged or ready to shear off, we're not going to be able to finish this today" How the hell did you do a brake inspection and not notice the backing plate assembly was loose? Either the mechanic that did the initial inspection was incompetent or they were bullsh***ing me and temporarily loosened the assembly so they could leave at 5:30 and finish it the next day (it's really hard to believe they didn't notice the loose assembly when inspecting the cylinder) I said can we just tighten that up and get it done today?  The mechanic was very sarcastic sure I can just slap this back on here if you like and have you on your way. I said there's no way I'm going to Uber back home, Uber to work and back here tomorrow and waste my money because you couldn't deliver a simple repair on time or inform me beforehand that you wouldn't be done. They finished the job, and as I was paying I specifically asked Jeff "Hey did you do the Full brake flush?"  He said sure did, it's required when you replace the rear wheel cylinders. I checked my brake fluid reservoir the next day and the fluid is as black as oil (I'll attach a picture) I called Jeff and let him know they didn't do the Flush and reminded him when I specifically asked if they did and he tried to give me some bulls*** excuse, at this point, I was done with his Lies. He tried to say I rushed them bla bla bla, if I rushed them then why still charge me for the flush that they didn't perform, how could you not know the rear backing plate assembly was so loose. So they got me for 70 bucks on the flush and who knows what else, they probably didn't even replace the cylinders, the rotors and pads seem fine, but who knows at this point, I wouldn't trust this shop unless you want lies and bad excuses, if you look through the comments you'll see someone else got ripped off and told their sensor was replaced and it wasn't, I might even have an independent mechanic check if they even replaced the rear wheel cylinders. DON'T TRUST THESE LIARS.

I needed…read morea brake job, and a dealer would charge retail prices, and the corporate bosses at a chain shop would pressure the shop manager to nickel and dime the customer into purchasing additional repairs that they probably didn't need to boost sales. Independent shops are usually reliable as they live and die by their reputation, but often times they can be hit and miss. I can only speak from my experience but I can report to you that Dave's Auto Repair is the real deal. The shop is owned and run by Armando and his family (Armando bought it from Tim, the former owner, and Dave used to run the shop). Armando knows cars, and more importantly, he knows how to treat people right. His prices were competitive or better than other quotes I got, and he didn't try to upsell me on unneccesary repairs. He did give me a heads up on a few things to keep an eye on, which I appreciated, and he even threw in a few freebies which was unexpected and much appreciated. What's also nice is that most independent shops are only open M-F but Dave's is also open on Saturdays, which makes it convenient for those with work/school during the week. I'm very happy with my experience at Dave's and it gives me piece of mind knowing that I have a great mechanic I can take my car(s) to from now on.

Where to even start...? I hit a curb the day before New Years Eve and blew two flats. Looking back,…read morewhere it all happened was fate because I ended being right across the street from Superior Tire which made an awful situation that much less awful. One of the employees I came to know really well (I'm literally the worst with names) saw my dilemma and actually came out of the shop over to my car. In the panicked state that happens after you completely destroy your tires, it hadn't occurred to me to just bring my car across the street... luckily this employee (again, so bad with names) saved me from calling my insurance for a tow. He got my car set up at the shop and even got me a ride home. LONG story short, there was additional damage to the car (I expected this) so I had to wait for the parts to be delivered. Mind you this was over a holiday so wait times were longer than normal but they did a really good job keeping me updated and informed. I called like a million times and every time they were patient and explained everything to me without getting frustrated or annoyed. When my car was finally ready, I went to pick it up and that's when they discovered my driver side mirror wasn't working properly. (It'd been broken for a while but ignorance is bliss ya know?) Anyways, at this point after having so much work done on my car I figured, "may as well just fix the window too." So I called the company that originally replaced my window and they were giving me the run around- basically trying to avoid any warranty claims. While I was dealing with the window company, the owner of Superior Tire was actually on the phone getting quotes/info from another glass company he knew to be fair and reliable. Just knowing my situation and what I'd been through with the car he called just to be helpful... he didn't have to and I never once even asked. Not just that, but after I explained how utterly useless the glass company was being about the window, he stepped in to basically handle it all for me. He made it so that I didn't have to wait longer for my car, pay outrageous fees or haggle about my warranty. I can't even begin to explain how much stress that took away... I would and will absolutely, 100% recommend this spot to anyone for literally any car issue. Every single staff member is kind, helpful and patient. It's not everyday (basically never) that you have someone who really takes the time to empathize with your situation and go out of their way to be helpful. This place knows how to treat a customer! I'm so grateful for everyone at this Superior Tire. No review could do this place justice.

I was worried they might try to sell me new set of tires even if mine was repairable, but to my relief, they were honest and simply fixed the hole. The service was not only professional, but it was clear they don't take advantage of customers. I truly appreciate their honesty and the quality of their work. Thank you so much, Jeff!

Unfortunately, the repair ended up taking an additional 1.5 hours because the parts that arrived were incorrect or defective. I wished they had called me as soon as they found out about the delay. I understand that mistakes can happen and that the parts supplier may have been responsible. My disappointment wasn't the delay itself per se--it was how the situation was handled. The unexpected delay forced me to change my plans for the day. I politely asked whether they could offer any type of courtesy credit or even a coupon toward a future service in recognition of the inconvenience. The owner declined, stating that it "was not our fault" because the issue was with the parts supplier. While that may be true, as the customer, I chose Midas--not the parts supplier. I wasn't asking them to accept blame for the supplier's mistake; I was hoping they would show some goodwill for the significant inconvenience caused during my visit. The repair itself appears to have been completed successfully, and I appreciate the technicians' work. However, customer service is about how a business responds when things don't go as planned. In this case, I left feeling that my time and inconvenience were not valued. It was my first time using Midas. Unfortunately it may be my last one. So much for the Midas touch.
