Consultation went smoothly and was scheduled about a month out which added to my excitement. The day of my install I put the address into the gps and was like "Whoa this is really down the street from me!". Winning! Salon was clean and smelled amazing! Spa vibes! My loctician Janai was waiting for me and my appointment started on time! Glorrrray!!!! I got micro parts with my own hair (no extensions) and I am obsessed. It came out so beautiful! Good afternoon, My name is Janet Wright and I was a customer at your Maryland shop. I have contacted your customer service and the manager of the shop. I have left text to include pictures. The last time I went in for a retie, the stylist explained to me that my install was not done correctly. She had to cut a number of the braids and explained to me that my hair would not lock because of the way it was done. I asked for the manager and the owner that day. The stylist went in the back a couple of times and told me that she could not contact the manager or the owner. She told me before I left that either the manager or the owner would contact me. That never happened, obviously. I honestly believe that the woman that did my hair may have been a new stylist. She was there the day of my retie and went in the back with the sytist when she "tried" to contact you and the manager. The last time I spoke with your customer service rep they told me that I was rude to them. I asked if all of the calls were being recorded and she said yes. I am asking that you please listen to the recording of all of the calls that I have had with your customer service reps and the manager of the shop. My calls and texts have gone unanswered. I tried scheduling a consultation with you, the owner, and they told me that you were not doing consultations at this time. I have not received the refund for that. The added hair continues to fall out and some of the braids are unraveling. I traveled over 6 hours for the initial services and my reties. I now have to consult with another shop to have my hair fixed due to your shop not returning my calls, texts or offering to fix the mistake they made. I also wrote to you on Instagram and sent a direct message. I would like to know if you are able to either have someone to fix my hair or offer some type of refund. If you would like me to send a screenshot of the text and calls I have made, I will send them to you. After sending the photos, the owner said she would get back to me. I work out a lot and the consultant said that would definitely be best. She was right! The salon is very clean, calming and most importantly it took 6 hrs to do my microlocs. Tell them what you want before hand so you don't end up with a style you have to live with until your Locs grow out. I had two stylists one one the left and the other moving faster on the right. I was upset that she cut one side without waiting for the other side to be done. The manager apologized and explained she wasn't supposed to do that. Personally would never recommend this place. They are overpriced for low quality work as well as poor customer service. My hair took about 5 hrs because they had someone else help the girl because she kept complaining about "she has other things to do". Like....thats not my issue and sounds like poor planning on your part. She rushed through my hair and didn't even give me tips or nothing. Just rushed it, took payment before even finishing and left. I did not get any extensions except they did offer to put extensions where my hair was shorter to give an even finish. DO NOT DO EXTENSIONS OR ANYTHING WITH THEM. Literally all of the "permanent" extensions they put in fell out in 1 week and made my hair unravel in the back. If I paid that extra $2k to have them put extensions all over, I would have sued these people for playing in my hair. These "professionals " don't know a thing about hair and seem to not be knowledgeable about any other hair type but 4C. I have 3C/4a hair, she acted like I should not have been getting micro locs as if it is not a style for my hair too. Also, the chair they have you sit in for HOURS is very uncomfortable. It really pains me to write this review but I'm afraid it's warranted. After being super excited about this service, I scheduled a consultation, per their policy to start the process of booking. It's a virtual, non refundable $55 consultation. I thought this seems high, given it's virtual but I figured it's an investment and their work is great so I'll give it a go. Well after taking time from work and paying the money, no one from her team showed up on the zoom for my appointment. I understand things happen, but I was expecting to hear something from her team about rescheduling etc.; but I received no response. So I emailed, called/left a voicemail and texted the number that was provided and I have yet to receive any response and it's been 2 days. I decided to also DM them via IG and I did receive a response stating that someone will follow up, but after trying my best to reschedule, I have yet to get any follow up (see screenshots below). I have asked for a refund, given that I did not receive the service and it's hard for me to waste $55 for something I did not receive. I have yet to receive a response. Bottom line, I'm sure their work looks and seems great but its clear that their once decent service is going down hill now that it seems like their expanding. I will try my best to get my money back by any means, given that I can't afford to waste it on things that don't render the service I paid for. Hopefully the next person will get seen via their consultation but unfortunately I did not and I'm out of my money with no response from her team. The week of, i got the "Dos and Don'ts" for your hair on install day; it said to bring something to entertain yourself; food/snacks/drinks. After almost a year of research, I decided to take the plunge and come here for my microlocs installation. Before making my appointment I did the online consultation, however upon seeing my hair in person the stylists realized the style I originally booked wouldn't look good on me. They were very upfront and honest and said the cheaper alternative (which was almost half the price) would be much better for my hair type. They were able to quickly come up with a new plan that took my concerns and desires into account. Although I was concerned about how my hair would turn out as I had been fixated on the other option, I trusted their judgment and am so glad I did. I had two people working on my hair were very efficient and my appointment lasted only around 6 hours. They were also extremely gentle. Granted I am not tender headed but my installation was completely pain free and they would frequently check in to make sure I wasn't in pain. When I saw the final results I was so happy and definitely understood what the stylists were saying. Not only did I achieve the look I wanted, I saved almost 1k! I've contemplated for months on if I should leave a review as I've followed them for over a year before I decided to get the Belle Microloc Braids. While I think they do good with, my experience with them was like some of the other reviews. My initial install was fine in February 2023. It only took about 5 hours which gave me a little pause because I expected to be there all day. It was two ladies in my head which made the process quicker however it turned out to be a rush job. By April, I was coming back to get some repairs done in the front. Every time I would come in for a retie, the stylist was either having to repair some of the loc or was super late. Eventually I grew tired of asking about the sloppiness of the braids and decided not to come back. Fast forward to over a year later, the extensions are coming out continuously. Im disappointed because when I see their social media posts I know I didn't get that type of care and I feel like it was just a rush to get the next client in the seat. It great so see them growing and moved into a new space. If you go, I'd just make sure they aren't rushing to get you out of the chair but they are taking their time so you're not having issues months to a year later. read more

I originally got my install done at the Atlanta location so I wasn't sure how the Maryland location would differ for my very first retie-but it didn't! My 1st retie was seamless! I was especially happy that the stylist reached out to see if I could come in earlier because that just opened up the rest of my day to plan for other things as I flew in from out of town. My new growth in just 4 weeks was crazy, I was on the verge of having it all unravel lol I was SO glad they was able to save my hair and get me right! I've been following their page on IG for almost a month. On Friday 7/26 I called regarding a consultation because their website kept giving an error when I attempted to book. The person who answered told me to send my consultation fee via Zelle and then send a text with the date and time I wanted my consultation. She then followed up with a text with the same instructions. I selected 4:30pm on 7/27 for my consultation. Needless to say, 4:30 came and went with no link for the virtual call. I sent a text and email and no response. Today I called and there's no answer. Not only is this unprofessional, it's a red flag. My first thought was to report it to the BBB to make others aware of what may happen but their business isn't even registered as a business...another red flag! I'm beyond annoyed and very disappointed in the lack of customer service. I had microlocs twists with micro parts installed on 12/20/23 by Ifi and Sonya at the Lawrencville GA location of Braids That Speak. Their work is superb! This was a process that took 12 hours and 40 minutes! While that may seem like a long time, I had these two ladies working on my head at the same time, so it could have taken longer. They were so friendly and accommodating and focused on my comfort. This was more of a daycation than a long process at the salon. Sonya even played a television series for me to watch while I got the process done. After everything was done, I looked like 1 million bucks! What I love about this place is that they give you a good amount of education before your process and after your process, I had an e-book that told me what to expect for my installation day and I also got another e-book on how to care for my hair thereafter. Before my process Tatiana the owner went live on IG and answered some of my questions. This is not a cheap service, be prepared to pay handsomely. However, this is a service that is worth the price. I did the consultation and set an appointment on October 19 2024. I felt like the communication wasn't there once I paid the 500$ deposit. So on Monday October 21, 2024 I was feeling this salon isn't for me so I sent a text asking that the December 6th 2024 appointment be canceled. I received a text back saying I would be receiving my money back and to exercise patience. I didn't hear back from anyone until I text on Thursday October 24th 2024. I would definitely recommend Braid That Speak to my friends. I receive compliments on my hair from people who think I have Sister Locs. I have tiny braids that are now loc'd. The easy of my day of not worrying about my hair is absolutely wonderful. I had issues with my hair before having it loc'd. Those issues are now gone and my hair has grown 51/2 inches the 1st yr.
