HORRIBLE HORID truly a NIGHTMARE!! The biggest waste of time ever, I should be paid for what we just went through! What type of braiding shop can't pull off four corn rows? This was the girls second attempt after having to take two braids back down because they were hideous!! I usually take my son to at home stylists but wanted to try out a shop, my son has NEVER cried while getting his hair done!! His head was getting more and more tender because she kept redoing his parts and braids over and over, his scalp was red and he was in tears! I told her to just do straight backs if that's easier and she still kept trying to do the zigzags! Why why why would a braiding shop employ someone who does not know how to part or do corn rows????? They want you to come washed and blow dried but don't put anything to smooth out the hair then put gel so my son's hair kept tangling up and she's just ripping through his hair. I cannot even ever explain how horrible this experience was! The pictures below are how we just had to leave the salon! I took off work early to wash and blow dry his hair and wasted an hour in the shop. His birthday is this weekend now we wont be able to get another appointment. The owner commented blaming my son for her braided not knowing how to braid is crazy? His nose was running but he is not sick at all? He was moving after she had already caked his hair up with gel from having to redo his braid and parts over and over. Whatever makes you feel better about not being able to part-which you can clearly see in the pictures. I wish I took a picture of the first two braids she originally put in his hair the other braided only asked to step in when we were already leaving. Why would I keep putting him through that when your stylists clearly don't know what they're doing? Why didn't she step in before when the girl was struggling with his parts? read more

I scheduled an appointment with Kadi a month in advance for a full weave, which according to the website takes approximately 2 1/2 hours. Since I had my niece's graduation party at 2:00 PM, I specifically chose the 10:00 AM appointment time to ensure I would make it on time. On the morning of my appointment, Kadi called and asked if I could come in at 11:30 AM instead. I explained that I had an event to attend at 2:00 PM, and she assured me that I would be finished by 1:30 PM. I arrived at the salon around 11:25 AM, but Kadi was not there. After waiting about 20 minutes, I called her and was told she was on the freeway, had to take a detour, and would arrive by 12:15 PM. She also called the staff to let them know she was stuck in traffic, so I continued to wait. Unfortunately, she did not arrive until approximately 12:30 PM. As a result, I was late to my niece's graduation party. To her credit, she did provide a small discount for the inconvenience. I'm honestly disappointed because this seems to be an ongoing issue with timing at this salon. I already have another appointment scheduled for next month, and I'm hopeful the experience will be much better; otherwise, it may be my last visit. As for my hair, the finished style was okay, but it felt rushed. It was much fuller than I wanted, and because I didn't have a mirror in front of me during the appointment, I wasn't able to ask for less hair to be added. By the time she showed me the final result, I was simply ready to leave. The salon itself also did not appear very clean, as though it may not have been tidied up from the previous day, and the overall atmosphere felt a bit off. I understand that unexpected delays happen, but communication, punctuality, and ensuring clients feel heard throughout the appointment are important. The work is always good and very neat. However I was VERY disappointed when I arrived for my appointment Wednesday. On the booking sight, you are able to select the stylist that you want. I selected the same woman that I select every time because she was recommended to me specifically. Imagine my surprise when I arrived 5 minutes early to my appointment and the stylist that I booked is in the process of starting someone else's hair. They had another stylist do my hair and it looks beautiful, she did a great job but I do not appreciate the situation at all. I live in San Leandro and drove to Stockton (an hour away) for that appointment and I selected the stylist that I wanted. If she was unavailable, I shouldn't have been able to book her. At the very least someone should have called me to say there had been an accidental double booking, And I would have planned accordingly to come at a different time So I could get the person that I booked. read more

Hawa transformed my son! She did his cornrows so quickly, and they're so clean. She provided exactly what we asked for in a short amount of time. Our appointment started earlier than we expected, we were scheduled for 6:30 but she saw us at 6:20. Shes definitely the expert at what she does. She was very sweet natured and my son loved her. There was another lovely lady in the shop as well, and both had great energy. With Afro beats playing, and fast Braiders, what more can you ask for! Miriam and Hawa (plus a third lovely helper who jumped in like a braiding ninja Anita!) gave me small knotless boho braids, and I swear I walked out looking like I got a full upgrade! ‍ They're not only fast and talented, but also so warm and kind--like chatting with old friends while getting pampered. I went to Kadi on a fluke and after the first mishap on timing decided to give her a second chance considering she did my hair fast and it turned out excellent. Feb 26, I reached out to her for my daughters hair. I called her and booked thinking she was going to be the one doing it. I arrived as booked on Sunday 3/1, per our discussion and she was not there. after waiting over 30 minutes, numerous calls and texts to her, one of the workers said someone else was going to do it, which ended up being her mom. I was not happy but we were already there. I explained what I wanted to her, left for 30 min came back and the hair was not good. braids were too big although I explained I wanted them not super big, they looked dry and not neat. Again after numerous calls and text I finally got a response from kadi and let her know I thought she was the one I was booking with etc. She said it was a misunderstanding and to bring her back at 3 that afternoon. 2:30, she texted again stating to bring her at 6. I called no answer, so texted her 6 was too late and to call me with the next schedule. 3/2 I realized no call no text so asked for a refund. she texted immediately and stated her next appointment would be Thursday. I could not wait that long so asked for a refund ( which she gave) and told her I would try again next time. I reached out to her for a third try on 3/18 to see if she was available in Stockton, to once again do my daughters hair for her birthday party that was on 3/21. she said yes and to book online again. I emphasized that I wanted to make sure, SHE could do it this time but she said she was out of town but had another braider that could and she was good. Asked to see her work and decided to go with Aimee. Appointment was scheduled for 3/20 at 2pm in Stockton. around 10:30 I reached out to Kadi and asked if Aimee could take her sooner, same day she responded at 11:30 and said it wasn't possible due to a Muslim holiday and that she was gonna push it out past 2 ..as a result, I texted Kadi asking what is the issue with their scheduling. they are never on time ( I did not include alot of this for the time with me or my daughter due to the length of it) and what time is Aimee talking now and told her my daughter has a bday party the next day so it had to get done...is she sure she can do it.. that was sent at 11:54. 1:48, I texted again asking what time as I was still waiting. at 2:09 Kadi responded and said to bring her at 4. I said OK. 4:00, I get there -shop is closed. I am calling frantic to kadi -- no response per usual. So I text her what's going on shop is closed where's Aimee etc. 4:11 she responds and says Aimee is there in Antioch. Im like what do you mean Antioch, I scheduled for Stockton. I ask Kadi to then call me but she said she couldn't as it was loud where she was. I told her I never scheduled for Antioch, she said it was her mistake etc. I was desperate so I said send me the address to Antioch, I will go there but then I realized, it was after 4, traffic, I have a fussy 11 month old, nothing on me for him as I was just doing a drop off, and I still had running around to do for the party the next day so I asked Kadi can Aimee do it on Saturday morning but early and they would have to be ON TIME due to her birthday party that will start at 2pm. . At first she said no, so I said just send me the deposit, i will figure something out and exlpained why I couldn't make it. Then she said she would get Aimee to Stockton and she would arrive at 615. I was reluctant but said OK I can wait. around 5:43 I text for an update, Kadi then says 7:20 so I was like 7:20 is further out what is going on. I told her if its after 7pm cancel me. that is too late. 6:25 I text asking ETA. 7:00 she responds lets do it Sat at 7am and Aimee will sleep at the shop. I said do you want to do 8am just in case? She said no 7AM I said OK, so i started rearranging plans and finalizing things for the party. at 9:30 pm, Kadi texts and says we have to move to 8am!! at this point I am livid and immediately ask for a refund. Kadi says to show up the next day and if no one is there she would refund me immediately. I text her why would I show up to see if someone is there, then drive all the way accross town to find an alternative, same day as her party, that starts at 2. I said just cancel it and went on to tell her she had ruined my daughters day etc. my baby was in tears!!! All Kadi could say was sorry lol.. I will NEVER trust these people with something so precious again. I ended up doing her hair and it turned out better than I expeced considering I was pressed for time, but everything ended up being late because of this hair issue. Terrible. Terrible!! Terrible!! Have been coming to Braids by Kadi on and off for 2 years. Only because it's very hard to find braiders that service children. They have never once been on time!! Even when I call the day before to confirm the appointment. Most recently, I had an 8am appt. Got there and they asked me to come back at 10am. Can't back at 10am and still they were unavailable. Finally agreed to come back at 2pm and did not get out of the shop until after 9pm. It was supposed to be a 3 hour style. Mind you, then was for a 6yr old. Can you imagine the agitation??? Two months later decided to give them another try. Made another 8am appt. Called the day before to confirm. It is now 9am and the shop is closed and dark. I keep calling the other shop and the number that's in my booking confirmation. No answer. Texting the owner, and they do not respond. Please save the time and headache and go somewhere else.
