The only downside is the time it takes for services to be rendered. I was expecting a two hour appt and it was over four hours taken and I still wasn't finished. I pleased with the results of my hair. This is the first time in years since I got my hair done in this sort of style and it's the first time at this salon. My appointment was at 6am. Although 6am is a very early start I was finished around 1pm and had the rest of the day to myself. The salon was clean and stylists Michele and Sharon were professional. Style: Bomb Twist (Synthetic) I'm writing this review after having the twist for 3 months! It took 5.5 hours to twist hair. The hair so light and easy to wash. The hair dries very quickly and I sat under a dryer to completely dry my real hair. After washing hair I used curling creams and styling gel on my edges. read more

Not impressed! Unprofessional, unprepared and rude. I wish I would have took the negative reviews more seriously. Almost every negative review is about the salon not having the correct hair. I made an appointment for my daughter's hair to be braided. When making the appointment, I asked how much hair I needed to buy and was told that the salon provides the hair. I went back and forth on cvia text and we settled on a purple ombré color. At the appointment, they didn't have the hair. The stylist started pulling out half packs and small bundles of hair leftover from other customers and told my daughter they could do streaks of tan in her braids. Only streaks because they didn't have enough for her whole head. When I inquired about why they didn't have the color we agree upon, I was told that they were just informing me of the color that was available at the hair supply store. They text message clearly states that they will provide the hair and that color is offered at the salon. Apparently, the receptionist (in training) made a mistake and sent that message. The stylist I spoke with, I assume Ugo, was rude; turned her back to me, sighed loudly and offered no resolution. She just said, "well we don't have the hair, so what do you want to do." I made this appointment almost 2 months in advance and selected the hair color almost a month in advance. This was plenty of time to order/purchase the hair. Don't say that hair is included, give customers an option of color, and then present scraps of used packs when they arrive. You are capitalizing on the fact that customers don't have a choice but to accept whatever hair you offer because you know we won't be able to find another salon for a same day appointment. None of the stylists wear masks even though almost every customer was wearing a mask. Lastly, you have a 0930 appointment the stylists should be there at 0930. Not walking in at 0945. There were multiple people waiting for their stylist to arrive. read more

Everything went well booking my appointment but upon arrival it went horribly south fast. Stylist was not on time for my 9am appointment. She didn't start braiding my hair until 10am. I selected my hair color days in advance only to be told they didn't have that color. I asked for a shorter length and was told my hair was too long and need to get the longer length. Once completed I informed her that the shorter length would have worked perfectly fine and she agreed, however the longer length looks better for the style THEY liked to achieve....uh but me as the customer and the person wearing the style is the only opinion that should matter. read more

I made an appointment as instructed by first contacting her through text and then creating the appointment on styleseat. She informed me that she had availability and so I proceeded to schedule the appointment. I asked her a series of follow up questions that she never answered but assumed since I made the appointment it was still a go. Well the day of the appointment she was not there. She did not respond to text or phone calls. I called and called but to no avail I never received a response. I was highly disappointed because I had an event to go to and could not schedule an appointment with another stylist. I was highly upset and I vowed that I would never schedule another appointment with her ever again. I had my Goddess Locs done by UGO. The salon studio was welcome and she was all smiles. She chatted with me via Facebook before booking the appt which I did online. My appt started at 2p and I left at 1030p. I did get mid back length and goddess locs are terribly time consuming considering braid first then wrapping the braid. I was super satisfied with my locs and got plenty of compliments! I enjoyed my time with her as we watched Nigerian movies to help the time lol. We have been here a few times, and it's always the same thing. Nice owner, but they need to work on professionalism. Had appointment that they called and rescheduled from 9am to 5pm. Arrived at 5pm to wait 1hour 15 min without being seem, then decided to leave. They need to notify clients prior to arrival when running that much behind, They need to greet clients with a simple hello when they walk into their store. Gave several excuses-but at the end of the day-client was not considered. Hope they can work on communication and improve their business sense. read more

Attempted to try her salon so I called to set up an appointment. When I called she said to text her a picture of what I want done and when. I asked if she was available the next three saturdays and she stated next Saturday at 9:30 would be fine. I also asked her if they had the hair in the shop which she also confirmed they had. I'm assuming I've confirmed my appointment if she states the date and time. I arrived to my appointment and she asks if he had an appointment and what I was getting. I told her I had a 9:30 for cornrows which she had no idea what I was talking about. She asked if how I booked my appointment and that she doesn't take appointments that way. My experience was awesome. The facility was clean. The owner and staff were friendly and took necessary precaution due to COVID. I called the owner to schedule an appointment for my retwist. I was scheduled for two days later. (Please keep in mind that most valuable services and products are in high demand). I mention this disclaimer because some reviews may mention delays in responses or difficulty booking. When I find great services I do my best to book in advance and to book often. That being said after the great service I received (timely response to my request for an appointment, friendly interaction during and after my appointment, knowledgeable stylist, and great music and environment. I was able to sneak in a last minute appointment. While enroute the appointment, Ugo had texted me that her previous appointment was running behind schedule, and to push back the appointment time by an hour. I thought this was curteous because how often do you arrive on time, then are waiting. Anyway, after I walk in an am settled, she had the assistant braid the base. She instructs the lady, six on each side. Simple right? NO! Because the woman kept counting and reparting my braids! She rebraided some like three times. I guess because I was last minute she was going to the install. I was getting nervous because $150 is alot for an apprentice to do hair. Turns out, I didn't bring enough for the crotchet hairstyle. Well all I can say is make sure you're specific about exactly what you're getting and what hair you want to use or you'll be sad like me. I drove two hours from my home to get the human hair kinks and when I got there they told me somehow my assistant had made a mistake when booking me and I wouldn't be able to get my hair done like that. Despite making a very large deposit that indicated I wanted human hair. I ended up having to get bohemian brains which turned out fine but weren't nearly as natural looking as the the human hair kinks and if I wanted bohemian braids I could have gotten them a quarter of the price with the same quality in DC. I went there for that specific style and that was literally the only reason I was willing to travel far and pay high prices. The worst part was I had to sit two chairs over from a girl who was getting her hair done exactly how I wanted but couldn't get done because they were out of the hair. She walked out the salon happy and her hair looked good so as long you don't have my luck you should be fine. The braider who did my bohemian braids was kind, professional. If the style was what I wanted my review would be higher. But traveling two hours, through narrow roads, to end up with a style I could have gotten done up the street from my home for a quarter of the price just hits different. read more

I have been to Ugo twice since finding her earlier this year. My first style was the bomb twists and then the 360 lace band with sewn in wefts. I absolutely love both styles.
