Christy is absolutely the most amazing hair stylist I've come acrossed. She's been my hair stylist for a few years now and I couldn't imagine having someone else color, cut, or style my hair. I'm really picky and she meets all my expectations! I tend to present her challenges when it comes to color as she always has to mix colors together using her own judgement. I tend to want colors that don't come premixed or with instructions on what to mix to get it. She never fails me and my hair always looks amazing when she is done. To clarify: you did receive and pay for a strand test, which showed your black color wasn't lifting--this was explained during both visits. (I do not have black hair- I have dark brown hair and the lift was described as "uneven' I have the text message stating that) The power outage during your haircut was caused by a severe storm and was beyond our control. (I did not blame you for the outage at all) Regarding communication: we do not use bots. Our text system is managed by real team members to offer convenient booking and support. (If the text "system" is managed by your staff the lack of clarity and the impersonality of the texts did not show that) At your follow-up, several stylists explained that achieving ashy highlights in one session wasn't realistic and you would have red , which you were very adamant it couldn't be . When you requested a black gloss, we advised against it, as it conflicted with your goal. (I discussed with your co-manager, and the store manager, as well as prob 5 other people that I understood it would be a "color journey". Having been a platinum blonde a few times, I do understand. I also did not request a "black gloss"; I requested a demi gloss for roots only.) We support our team's right to decline services when expectations are unsafe or behavior is concerning. We wish you the best. (The only behavior that was questionable was that of the 5 or so staff that continued to gang up on me in the middle of the salon and ultimately refuse me service. I don't typically leave reviews but always look at them and looked at yelp after I found this place on FB. I do NOT do much with my hair, full to partial highlights 1-2 times a year with a trim somewhere in between. The price scared me not to lie (they did find ways to give discounts and give back which was a huge plus) and I HATE getting my hair done, just feels like so much time sitting there bored and I should be doing other things. However, Sam and the team made the experience memorable. They asked questions I had never been asked before, they had a sign at the front welcoming new guests along with a goodie bag at the end, fun little guessing game for guests. They had a tie dye theme day and everyone was so friendly to each other and about each other. Very professional but fun! Sam is a "level 1", again I don't know much bout hair but they all had levels based on certs, courses and experience I think?? Please don't let the levels sway you from going with someone with less experience or younger. THEY CARE about getting it right. They even have measures in place for color approval from a color specialist. This might be normal at salons but I had never been to one like this and I've been to a few over the years. While looking for a new stylist my partner was referred here. Sounds great, right? Looking for a service and ask friends for suggested places they have had a good experience with, correct? That's what we all do, right? WRONG, if you are suggesting this salon. Called, spoke with them at length with them and scheduled an appointment time. All, seemed good. Until, we rearranged all of our personal & work schedules to work around their scheduled openings. Were told he would be scheduled with a tier 3, experienced stylist. Sounded perfect to me! Until he left work early to drive 30 minutes and be screwed over. Was told they scheduled him wrong. Tons of excuses and a lot of BS later, shaming and blaming.... still left with no haircut and an hour drive roundtrip! NO, NO THANK YOU!!!! BUYER BEWARE AND AVOID....WORD TO THE WISE! Today I had the opportunity to get a lavish highlight all over and it came out amazing! Laney & Michelle worked on my highlights! Michelle always knows just what to do with my hair! I'm so incredibly disappointed. I opted to go here after another salon messed up my hair. The other salon was willing to fix it for free, but I wasn't comfortable so I decided to incur the cost and try a new place. When my colorist was done and we blow dried my hair, I mentioned it was so much better, but there was a section that I felt was too dark. I would have liked it to have been more gradual (sun-kissed liked the pictures I showed) and the low lights were a bit lower than I thought they'd be. My overall goal was a flamboyage look with streaks of blonde to my root (although sporadic) but then would gradually become more and more blond to the ends. My hair was pretty much like that except I wanted my roots ashier so as my real hair grows in, I wouldn't have to maintenance it as much. I colorest (I'll leave her name out of this) bleached out my roots and then went back in to do a shadow root. The only challenge is that she combed the dark root through my hair and it went a bit further than I would have hoped (particularly on the right side) and she didn't leave out any blonde pieces she had just bleached out. Had she let a few pieces out it would have blended nicely. Anyway, before I left, she mentioned I could try some purple shampoo to see if it would break up the line. I tried it but after a few washed, I called the alon two weeks later when I didn't notice a change. In truth, I also waited because she had processed my hair so much that quite a bit had fallen out. The last time I saw that kind of hair on a comb, I ended up with hair extensions for almost two years. So, yes, understandably, I was even more nervous in her chair at the end. I think stylists forget that you know what is normal for your hair and what isn't. I also think they have a hard time with people that actually know what they want and expect to get what they pay for. Moving on... When I called last week, I was told every excuse under the sun as to why this colorist couldn't get me in. But when I suggested someone else, I was also told excuses. I thought I would hear back from the colorist as I had asked if I could speak to her originally, but I never did. And, I was never called back about any cancellations although I had shared I wasn't happy and was hoping to get it fixed. Hmmm.... I waited a week and called back today. I was then told the colorist I had worked with was going away for two weeks. When I suggested someone else they said they didn't have anyone else that felt comfortable working on my hair. I spoke to one of the owners, Christy, who went from telling me 1. that I had a hair correction and people weren't comfortable (to which I shared then they never should have worked on it originally to correct it a few weeks ago). Then she said... 2. that I had shared several contradictory pictures last time (which l shared that point was mute because my colorist never expressed she was confused by what I wanted. And then, finally, said... 3. that no one in the salon felt comfortable working with me based on how I treated the colorist. WAIT! WHAT? WOW! I was so incredibly nervous after the experiences I've had over that I teared up explaining everything before we even got started so I'm not sure what else was coming through other than I was about to pay (over $200 - AGAIN) to do my hair (when I could have gone back to the other place for free) and I really wanted it done right. I shouldn't be made to feel a certain way because I was expressing exactly what I wanted and trying to confirm it could be achieved before I spent my money. BUT, when I call back not happy, and all I'm wanting is for someone to throw in about 5 strokes of highlights on about 2 inches of hair to break up the dark to light at the root, it shouldn't turned into all of this. I don't know how a business stays in business with this kind of service. I think you need the best of luck Bombshell. Your salon isn't very warm and inviting to begin with so you'd think your service would be above par. Hopefully you'll work on that. read more

I have been going here for a few years now and adore them!! My stylist has been Michelle and she's incredible! No matter how often I change up my color, she always does an unbelievable job!! I often get compliments on my hair (particularly when I went from dark brunette to blonde!). But what makes me really love them is how amazing they are with my 13 year old daughter with high functioning autism. My only hair salon!! I love this place! They truly treat you like family. Once you walk in its smells like shampoo and NOT ammonia like the rest of places that use cheap color. I have my stylist Brenda who is amazing!! Have been coming here for about a year now. I had a horrible highlights done and she not only was able to correct my color but also was able to add a gloss and do all over high lights! One thing to remember is to keep your appointment. I asked for a simple straight blunt cut all one length, and my stylist did not really take the time to look at the picture I pulled up. I asked to have it styled straight but it was just blow dried straight and so I could not really see the cut. Now that I straightened it at home, it is very choppy and uneven, and not what I asked at all. I thought this was a pretty simple cut that you cannot really mess up. I wish I had listened to the previous review prior to visiting this salon... I scheduled an appointment for a bridal hair and make-up trial. I arrived early, and 15minutes after my appointment time, the stylist came out to apologize. At this point, I was not mad. She stated she was running behind and would be another 15minutes, and therefore suggested I run across the street to grab some coffee. I came back 15minutes later, just to wait some more. Over 45 minutes after my appointment time, I was finally brought back to the chair. I was irritated, but gave her the benefit of the doubt. I didn't actually get mad until she rushed through my appointment and charged me for a full hair and make-up trial. The updo was pretty...not exactly what I had showed her in the picture, but it wasn't bad. The make-up, on the other hand, was awful. She only spent 10 minutes applying the make-up, most likely because she was so far behind. She suggested that I did not need a base layer (which I have never heard of for a wedding). I'm assuming this suggestion was solely because she was rushing through the application. The eyeliner was thick, clumpy, and she left a gap between the edge of my lid and where the liner began (I used to do a better job in high school). She did not have different color eye liners to try. The eye shadow consisted of a basic color on the lid, and no shading/shadowing above the lid/below the brow. The bronzer was blotchy- my face just looked dirty. She did not have any lipstick to apply and she did not even put on mascara. The worst part...it looked like she was using her own personal make up. Advice for the salon: 1. If you are running behind, give your customers a realistic estimate. I would have much rather been given an estimate of 45 minutes and given the option to reschedule 2. If you do not have time to do a good job, please say so and reschedule the rest of the appointment. Do not just do an incomplete job 3. If you do not do a full make-up application, you shouldn't be charging for it read more

I have been going to Christy for over 10 years. She is awesome and does a fabulous job in cutting, coloring, and Keratins, or whatever I need. It's hard to find someone who listens to what you want and can actually do it consistently. She also does both of my kids hair. My son 13 actually won't go to anyone other than Christy. The staff is always so nice and they treat us like family. I have recommended countless friends to Christy and Company and would recommend anyone who is looking for a great salon! read more

Waited a day to see if perhaps the haircut was not as bad as I first thought...it's...ok. But I can't say I had a pampering 'spa experience' at Christy's. It was obvious once I didn't get any additional services beyond a cut that they were just getting me outta there asap. A 20 min wash n' cut and "don't forget to schedule another appt before the holidays". :-/ First time I got my hair cut here I liked it, til I washed it. It was nice when straightened and styled, but not when just washed and air dried....it was choppy. I have (had, gulp) long wavy hair, totally wash n' go. But it wasn't a 'bad' cut so decided to give her another try and ask for something simple. Second time I asked that she just take off the dead stuff (it was to my waist), maybe add some shape, but that I really liked it below-the-shoulder length. Idk...she might not have heard me over her aggressive up-selling. All I asked was that it be below the shoulder... Now I can barely put it in a ponytail. And its 'chopped'. No shape. Looks like I got a $20 haircut (I didn't...). Sigh. I wish I had been less mortified and able to say what I thought about it when I was there, but I was kinda taken aback at how short it was. I do not recommend going to this salon. I overpaid and the results of my hair are awful. I only do something for myself once a year, and really regret choosing this place. I was charged $425 for my hair for full color and full balayage (after being quoted $360 while in the chair, which still seems very high for a beginner stylist) and my highlights were very brassy, my hair was very uneven and still with a lot of dead ends. I was advised to spend $30 on a conditioner to tone out the brassiness, which I did. I was recommended the shampoo from divine system for thinning hair, then told at a later appointment that the shampoo did not do anything without the $28 serum that I did not buy. I was asked to pay for my hair before seeing the results, as the receptionist was leaving for the night. Otherwise I would have disputed the cost. I still tipped every stylist that touched my hair, for their time, even though I was unhappy with the results. I went back and got re-cut and scheduled to brighten the highlights. Even the stylists agreed with me on my concerns. When I went back to retouch the highlights, I ended up with half head of blonde hair. The stylist had to leave and pushed me off to someone else and that stylist assured me she would fix it, to make it look like the picture I provided. When I did not receive a call I reached out to schedule this fix and was told by the owner there was nothing else they could do for me!! Said they already did a partial refund (the $44 I was overcharged on the first visit-for 2 extra bowls on top of what I was quoted) and she hopes I find another stylist to meet my needs. VERY disappointing and unprofessional, after spending over $500 in this salon, and end up with bad color, that I have to pay someone else to fix. I would highly recommend looking elsewhere read more

They are horrendous. Their "money back guarantee" is a complete lie as I went up this past Friday, 4/29/17 and Michelle did a joke of a "balyage" and completely jacked up my hair. The color is brassy and hideous and if she couldn't have done it like I asked, she simply should have told me. They will not fix it because the joke of a stylist with 0 personality wrote on my client card that it would've taken several processes for me to achieve the color I wanted, and she was too excited to get off of work at 4pm than for her to take her time and do the process that I obviously was willing to pay for. Close to $300 for a botched job and they will NOT honor their guarantee. I will never be going back and suggest you do the same as they clearly cannot do advanced color work. I have short hair. The place was empty, and I was hoping I could get a quick cut and come back for highlights or get an appointment for later that day or the next day. I was informed that only certain people cut short hair there. Said person was on vacation until the 12th, a Sunday. I was in my work uniform, clean, and ready to spend my hard earned cash on a good cut and color. I felt like I wasn't good enough to be there. The owner (I believe)and 2 stylists made it known they don't cut short hair. I left, but I felt like since I didn't look like I could afford the services they didn't want to help me. I wanted my hair to be darker with no hints of red (i am a natural brunette) and each time I went to this place I had red hints. I saw three different stylists. One of the stylists called it "hot roots." The hot roots came from this place. After several attempts of not having red in my hair and a conversation with the owner, I asked for my money back and was denied. I went to another salon and my hair is great now. I would not recommend this salon to anyone. The place is a hole in the wall; the staff, while friendly, are not what you'd expect going to a "salon and spa" in Haymarket (nose rings and black lipstick?); and the facilities are filthy. The carpets were totally stained, there was clutter in every room, and the spa area was essentially a dirty closet. The esthetician smoked, and so her hands reeked of tobacco smell (not what you want when you're receiving a facial), and she took FOUR (yes, count them!)...FOUR cigarette breaks - leaving me lying there with goop on my face waiting for her return. It took 2 1/2 hours for the facial. I have never had a facial take that long. Won't EVER go back! read more
