Yesterday the crew was here for the recent job of removing concrete landing step ( which started to fall apart during the winter) and replacing it with a granite step. I thought I was going to have to rejigger all of my gutters for thousands of dollars, but Michael identified the real problem as lying in my neighbor's driveway, which had a dip next to his basement door where all of the water collected. Plus, his drainage system had never been cleaned (he's owned the building for 24 years). The solution then that Michael urged us to was first for my neighbor to contact Roto Router to clean out his drains. In the event that didn't do the trick, another easy solution he suggested was redirecting my downspout from the back of the building to the front. So, while I had no need to hire Primestone, the advice my neighbor and I received (for free!) was sufficient to resolve the problem for the present, and likely into the future. Many thanks Michael!

I would suggest those of you who got screwed by them do the same. I live in Watertown, MA. They were walking around the neighborhood, soliciting business, which I found out later from the city that was not legal. They gave me a quote. Now I realize the estimate was outrageous. I told them they must secure a permit before they start the work. They showed up on a day that I wasn't home, with no notice and started the work with no permit. The city building inspector drove by on the second day, and shut them down. A month goes by and my porch is on temporary support pillars. They still had not applied for the permit, but they were happy to cash my deposit. They made all kinds of promises, including when I canceled the contract that the check was in the mail. It's now in the hands of the Attorney General and I hope to get my money back that way. I hope the attorney general can also file criminal charges.

Tom and Mike supervised the work from start to finish, while getting hands-on involved for the critical part of the work. I tend to believe the workmanship is best for a ​family business where the owners are directly involved. They have a ​stake in the business and that I think goes a long way to ensure quality. So far I am happy with everything AllState did in the Chimney work at my place and I would seek for their help for any additional masonry and work in the ​scope of their business.​ Of course,​ time will tell, but then I felt that they had a very good multi-year guarantee on their workmanship.
