Dr Chipps is one of the most competent doctors we have access to here in the Sacramento area. His knowledge literally saved our daughter's life. We have gone to him for 23 years and I am dreading the day he retires because there is no one like him anywhere around here. Come prepared for your visit with questions, he will answer every single one. We almost lost our daughter 30+ years ago when she was a little over 4 years old. She wouldn't be here today if not for Dr. Bradley Chipps. As I write this, that same daughter is in the hospital with asthma, which she has battled for years. I've tried getting an appointment as a referral from my doctor for 3 months now. I have left countless voicemails, and called a dozen times, and I have not had a single phone call returned. Dr. Chipps seems to know his medicine, and apparently has little to no competition in the area. These are the reasons his office stays in business. The administrative staff seems to be uncaring. Some of the nurse/assistant folks are very friendly. The gal who acts as the Xolair insurance liaison was fantastic. Dr. Chipps' clearly finds bedside manner to be a waste of time. If you like your medical interactions direct, dispassionate, and terse, then this is your guy! Just don't come to the office looking for any sort of comfort, clarity, or reassurance. This is an opportunity just waiting to happen. If another experienced allergy doctor with an ounce of compassion were to open up shop in the area, I believe the customers would pour in like a Midwest thunderstorm. read more

Dr. Chipps is an experienced physician. However, lot to be desired about his business practices. The office staff is uncooperative, disorganized and record keeping still done by ancient filing system. You will not find any electronic or computerized record keeping at this clinic. Moreover, staff wanted to charge $15.00 for one page clinic note. Really, this how the good doctor wants to generate new revenue? It would be instructive for the staff to read California Health and Safety Code Section 123110 which makes it clear what price a doctor can charge a patient for his or her own record. $15.00 for one page record is not authorized by this statute and further violates HIPPA regulations. read more

I understand that people complain about his bedside manner... But he is actually funny and kind and- really? I don't think his bedside manner has ever been bad. I've seen him for 9 years w my son. He isn't warm and fuzzy but his knowledge is what matters. He is very up to date w current research, he won't give people drugs they don't need and he truly has your best interest in mind. Something else- I have huge amounts of respect for an Esteemed Physician who refers out for cases that could possibly get better results by someone else. When my son was 5 and we still didn't have as many answers as he would like, he referred us to UCSF and Stanford... Nobody there got better results than Dr. Chipps! So we came back. My train of thought is that people never really take the time to compliment- Only complainers complain. Dr. Chipps is a great doctor. I trust him 100%. read more

This was pretty much the worst healthcare experience I've ever had. Both the staff and Dr. Chipps are dismissive and arrogant and late. Expect to be seen an hour after your appointment time. Expect Dr. Chipps to not have read your history that the staff documented. Do not expect that he'll remember your prior visits and that he'll order duplicate tests. Finally, do not expect him to be as modern or current as allergists from Dignity or Stanford which participate in peanut immunotherapy programs. read more

He has all the degrees, education, and lots of experience but Doctor Bradley Chipps carries a huge CHIP on his shoulder and has a serious case of BURNOUT! I've worked with many Doctors over the past 12 years and I was SO taken back by how CURT, ANNOYED & RUDE he was! The ONLY reason he stays in business is he is the only Doctor of his kind in the area. His bedside manners are pretty lacking. I need to talk to my Dr sometimes. He's extremely impatient. If he ask's you something and you're not starting your answer before he's finished asking he gets really irritated and makes it obvious. He's hard to hear but you don't dare say what or pardon me? He rarely says what's going on with you and just gives you more meds which are working but what's going on? I've reached the point where every time I see him he just changes meds which with my copay costs me $100 - $200 every week or two. I gave an extra star because he is good but I'm moving on due to my other stated reasons. He reminds me of Eeyore from Winnie the Pooh which makes this funny. A few weeks ago he was done with me and walking out when he stopped, turned around said "keep smiling". Touche! Lol! read more

This guy has ZERO bedside manner and he spent a total of 2 minutes with me on my first visit, but he got me set up for allergy shots and that's the only reason I went to him. The 2nd star is for the nurses/techs being friendly :) The older nurse (I can't remember her name!) is awesome at giving allergy shots. I have no idea how she does it but when she gives them I have little or no reaction at the injection site. Wait times for appointments are very long. read more

It's sad that the front office is so rude to patients. I'm really surprised that Dr. Chipps allows this behavior or perhaps he doesn't know. These women are only there for a paycheck so please don't ask them to change an appt. or God forbid if your running a bit late they will give you evil stares. I work in the medical profession and we always give care, support and help our patients the best way possible. It's so unfortunate that people have such mean souls. If you HAVE no other alternative don't drink the water there!! Everyone in the front office is drinking the water! Drive a bit further, anywhere is better, you deserve to be treated with kindness and dignity. BTW, front office women you really should look for other jobs so you don't have to work with people. read more

Dr. Chipps has been my Pulminary Dr for over ten years and was my daughters Dr when she was 3 to 5 years old. I absolutely trust him fully! He figured out what was causing my daughters asthma and had her adenoids checked out and he was right. It was asthma due to an infection behind oversized adenoids. She was cured once they were removed. Any other Dr would have perscribed meds and never looked to the problem. We lived in the emergency room before in constant fear and now she is totally healthy. I have asthma brought on my allergies or viral infections and such. I have insurance that they do not take so I rather pay cash for Dr Bradley than use my insurance for someone else. If you take the time to know him, you realize he has a heart of gold under that dry humor. And yes his bedside is not his better feature but he is the best in his field and he does really care! read more

So glad I found this thread of comments on the poor quality of service I received so I know I'm not the only one. I went to get some testing done for a hives outbreak and he didn't seem to be concerned with my symptoms even though I was very worried about my first outbreak. He just threw testing paperwork at me and sent me on my way after a few shorts minutes of meeting me. I tried to explain things and he didn't even want to take a moment to listen. When I tried to ask any clarifying questions he would explain in an aggressive manner and state,"do you understand now"? My insurance referred me to this facility and it was unfortunately not what I was expecting. read more

I was referred to Dr. Chipps but assigned to Dr. Parikh in the same office. Dr. Parikh is fabulous and gets 5 stars for bedside manner, patience, respect, etc. The office staff in general are friendly, some more than others. The nurses administering injections are a mixed bag - most are wonderful, at least seems grumpy most of the time. read more

Have to agree with the other reviews. This man has no bedside manner. Took my elderly mom there for an allergic reaction she was having to something. Allergy testing was done. Came in for results and Dr. Chips basically gave us the sheets of paper with the results on them. Did not go over them or explain them to us and said she may need more testing and sent us on our way. No way am I taking her back there. Obviously he's of the school to see as many people as you can and quickly as you can to make more $$. read more
