My family and I highly recommend Cobbdale Assisted Living. We moved our mom into Cobbdale's House…read more#3 earlier this year from a larger Assisted Living facility when Mom's health began to decline, and it was obvious that she needed more attentive care. Before the move took place, we had a great meeting with owner Joey Lynch-Flohr who explained that he came up with the idea for Cobbdale when his own grandmother's health started to decline. The houses that he has built are beautiful, and perfectly equipped for each resident, as well as featuring a beautiful sunroom where family members can visit with their loved ones. Meals are created by a professional chef off-site and then prepared daily by the house staff. For the private room/bathroom: You furnish the room as you want it for your loved one, and they work with Hospice / Medicare to bring in special equipment - such as a hospital bed, if needed. Our mom's room was large, with two walls of windows, and plenty of room for 2 dressers, a TV, bed, nightstand, and recliner chair. Her bathroom was equally large with a walk-in shower. As for the staff, I can't begin to exclaim how wonderful they all are - and overseen by Atta (nursing) and Gabi (household). The kindness, compassion, and love shown by all of the Cobbdale staff to our Mom in her dying days is something that I will never forget and always appreciate. Thank you especially to Donna and Julie for all that you did for us that final day.

The staff really tries to rally the residents into a community with good care for a variety of individuals with special needs. The nurse is very knowledgeable and can't do enough and also guides the family through the troubled waters of aging. The owner has developed a 3 small 8 residents homes with high standards in the industry. Several days through the week appropriate activities or games or movie afternoons, or bingo etc are offered. I enjoy the beautiful home like setting and taking my husband into the sunroom or outdoor side porch. So grateful I found this private assisted living. I am sleeping nights again ad worry less.

I am enormously grateful for this company. My mother in law very suddenly needed 24/7 caregivers…read moreand we were in a panic trying to find a company to meet her needs. Luckily we chose to use BrightStar. The owners are outstanding. They were calm and understanding in what was a very stressful situation. Even on a Friday night they were available and they were able to quickly schedule caregivers around the clock. All of the caregivers have been competent and compassionate. Our minds are at ease knowing my MIL is being taken care of so well. I 100% would recommend this to anyone that is looking for care for themselves or their loved ones.

I would give one star based on my bad experiences; however, I also had a few aides that are decent,…read moreso I feel 2 stars is fair. Some examples of my experiences with them in the 8 days that we used them: We called the nurse there and was advised to take my husband to ER on a Sunday night. She advised us to cancel out aide the next day because my husband might be admitted. It turned out that the ER visit was not necessary so we returned home around 4:30am. I called their 24-hour hotline and was told by Patrick that he would contact the scheduler at 7:30am to see if we can get our aide back. When I finally got up in the morning after an exhausting night, I called back and found that Patrick didn't contact the scheduler at all. He only did it after I called and told me that the earliest time that an aide could come was 2:30pm. My husband's diaper/sheet was saturated with urine in the morning and I am not strong enough to change him. I had to call another agency to get help. They sent someone over in 40-minutes and helped me clean up my husband. That was an extremely unpleasant and stressful experience. We talked to Brightstar and one of the aides, hoping to have her sign up for more shifts with us. They insisted that it can't be done, but the aide was puzzled because she clearly had the availability. One aide was sleeping on the job, another one had many issues and I told them that I'd rather take care of my husband myself if she was the only one available. I emailed a few people at Brightstar (including the scheduler) about changing the hours from 12-hour per day to two 4-hour shifts. A few days later, I got the new schedule, it still showed 12-hour per day. They claimed that it's hard to get the same aides for the fixed shifts because they all work for different agencies. We had a revolving door of caregivers the first week. The new agency found fixed aides for us in less than 2 days and promised that they'll be the same for the remainder of the time that we still use them (unless any of them are sick or have emergencies - which is reasonable). It CAN be done! My husband (who is in hospice) is very happy with the new aides and I am relieved that I no longer have the headaches dealing with the issues associated with Brightstar.

my father was referred to this company through his oncologist and if I would of known what I did…read morenow I would of never contacted them. To begin with in Total we may of saw them a total of 5 times, the doctor came and started his medications and we thought it was off to a good start but once they started his aid coming out we had to request that she didn't come because her bedside manner is terrible, she had no respect when it came to my father and tried to get in And out as fast as possible she wasn't ever there for longer than 15 minutes. When she was giving him a bath she scrubbed him so hard it left marks on him and we had to tell her multiple times to be gentle, so much so the nurse that was there one time saw how rough she was and pulled her to the side asking her to be more gentle. So after that I just continued doing everything myself instead of trusting anyone else from the company to come out because I wanted my dad to be comfortable in his final days. She was asked multiple times to bring supplies but it got to the point where we had to buy most of the stuff out of pocket. The nurse was great she went out of her way sometimes and did things she didnt have to. we had to wait almost a week for his medications because the company/pharmacy wasn't coordinated well and it was definitely difficult for him when he didn't have the medicine he needed. He was placed on intermitted care and was to have someone come out daily and always be ready for the call, well that time came and we were told to wait until 12 AM at night for them to get someone out to us, the time we called was 4 PM in the afternoon. I ended up calling an ambulance and he was transported to the hospital after severe chest pain and problems breathing, he passed away a day later in the hospital and in the following days as we told him we are planning his funerals and running around trying to do everything necessary to bury my father they called multiple times a day asking to come get the equipment after we were told it was ok to coordinate with the nurse and we already had a scheduled day to return them. The nurse was great. Everyone else, the company as a whole, needs to really be looked at and watch who they hire.

On occasions when we need a new or temporary PCAs, Grace HHC went extra miles to find and provide us with people who meet my mother's and our family's needs and values. This is a critical element for good healthcare providers. My mother's been with Grace HHC since its opening. Prior to her connection with the company, she has developed Alzheimer's disease and other symptoms, which many people develop as we age. Grace HHC has been finding good senior daycares, worked with her insurance company to provide the right service and hours, and various things to help improve my mom's conditions and provide all her needs, including medical and personal hygiene products. Very pleasant staff at Grace HHC works closely with the family, communicating on a daily bases, as needed. They can do that because Grace HHC is well-staffed with professional nurses and administrators that care about their patients/clients. I highly recommend Grace HHC for anyone and everyone that need special care.
