He got all the songs we wanted (and there were a lot), he customized a song for our recessional and he granted our request for a boxing-style announcer voice when announcing our wedding party. He has an amazing ability to connect with the crowd and get them up on their feet! A little anecdote...following our event in April, Josh was finished packing and about to head-out around midnight. As we were all leaving, we noticed a volunteer had a flat tire. Josh stayed with us an extra hour or so and helped change the tire (no easy feat in this instance). We didn't even have to ask. Sue is also great and easy to work with in the planning and contract phases of organizing a DJ. I know we will go back to them again and again--you should, too!

Explained our situation that we were trying to do a quick wedding with a decently sized reception. He has done his fair share of weddings and helped us with the planning of the order of events for our reception. He even worked with my cousin who was our emcee to ensure everything was in order. Such a stress relief for both my wife and I. Then came the big day, and Chris was their early setting up. Like I said above, it was such a quick set up and short planning time to get this all together, but Chris hit a homerun with his lighting (which we never thought of through the short time) as well as his DJ and sound set up. He helped us select music that was perfect for each little event during the reception, and when we couldn't figure out what we wanted for something, he knew what song to play. Like Sugar, Honey, Honey for our cake cutting (such a common song, but we never thought of it!!). When planning, he asked what type of songs would we want played for when it was time to dance. All I said to him was, "it's a Filipino wedding, lets get some music in for the youngins' and then let's make sure we got some cha cha for the Titas and Titos." The party was rockin and everyone had a great time. Chris was great and easy to work with. With all of the undo stress my wife and I were under, he helped us make the wedding planning much more easier. If you need a DJ he's a great option for any type of event. Planned a celebration of life for my friend. We were on a tight timeline of 11 days (from day of inquiry to event). Leading up to the event, Chris was accommodating and empathetic, we had clear communication and I put my trust in him that he would deliver because he was recommended by the event manager. Chris was the "dj" for my short 2 hour event. The event started at 10am, Chris said he'd bring himself and an "assistant" at 8/830am to set up. He arrived at 9:15am. Brought out some speakers, then he went missing. Guests started to arrive - the music is supposed to set the tone especially since everyone is grieving, however CHRIS IS NOWHERE TO BE FOUND. The "assistant" didn't know how to play music and he didn't know where Chris went. His "assistant" later changed the story to he went to the bathroom... it's been over 25min at this point. I put quotes in "assistant" because this kid didn't know how to do anything sound related. Event start time @10am. Chris was not picking up my phone call even at 10am. When he finally did, he said he'd be back in 5 min, it ended up taking him longer than that. This was already after 10am event start time. We had nothing set up - no mics, no music, no zoom sound. Our event started 40 min late because of this, all the food was cold by the time it was served. I provided 3 Spotify playlists for him to draw music from for different parts of the event. He essentially played the songs from my Spotify playlists which was expected (I basically fed him all the music) but.. THERE WERE SPOTIFY ADS in between, he would lower the volume thinking we wouldn't notice, blamed it on poor connection or "something crashing", happened between every song. There would be a long silence before the next song would play. We had a zoom set up for our event. Chris didn't know how to find "preferences" in Zoom or even help share screen on Zoom either. I ended up handling this myself. The one thing that went right was the volume from the event was plugged into the computer. It was very difficult to hear for Zoom guests, but functionable at the very least. Overall, a nightmare but we got through it. Would not recommend. Event manager later apologized profusely for the bad rec.

He was timely with communication, arrived with punctuality, and help the day run smoothly. I was able to focus on getting myself prepared, while he managed the entire sound set up himself and got my officiant mic'ed. He followed all of my instructions to a T ! Zero hangups, zero hassles. Trevor was professional, and knew how to bring the right vibes at the right time. At one point in the evening I had scheduled for a certain song to play. I was special to my family, but admittedly was a bit of an emotional song. He assessed the mood of the party at the time and suggested that we hold off on playing that one until the very end, which in hindsight, was completely the right call. He managed guest requests in a professional manner, knowing when to go forward with a request and when to gently suggest an alternative song (drunk uncle Johnny, I'm looking at you). I don't plan on getting married again, but I always recommend Total DJ to any friends who are planning their wedding.

We poured over so many reviews, and one particular DJ/company stood out, and that was this one: Total DJ. We reached out to them, and heard back from Trevor (who I believe is the owner of the company). It was great talking with him on the phone, and we were immediately sold on having him booked for our wedding. We were able to discuss our vision for the wedding, what specific songs we wanted played, what genres of music we loved. Over the last few months, we were able to add songs to a list on their website, that we wanted played, and of course songs we didn't want played! Originally we were going to have Trevor have 3 different set-ups for our wedding, since they were in different spots at the venue: the ceremony, cocktail/patio area, and reception, but the rain had different plans. At the last minute we had to move everything to inside. As stressful as things were, we knew we didn't have to worry about Trevor getting everything situated. During the ceremony, he was able to have our officiant and I mic'd. He also made sure we were moving along as our schedule dictated. I really appreciated his dedication to ensure everything went smoothly. Later, he provided microphones to the people who wanted to give speeches. Finally he was able to play the music we loved, as well as mix in different songs that really got people out on the dancefloor. I highly recommend this DJ company, especially Trevor, if you're ever having an event, especially a wedding! Looking back in hindsight on all of the various vendors we worked with it was the best return on a decision we made for the entire event. If you have heard of Cornerstone Gardens or have been to a wedding there you know it is a labyrinth of areas. Weddings take place over multiple locations throughout the property between the ceremony (garden), dinner (beautiful tent) and reception (barn) all in different locations. Each of these areas require music, mics, and electrical along with processions of guests from place to place throughout the night - not an easy gig for a DJ. With very little direction beforehand, we were pretty much "spent" leading up to the wedding having to make one more decision, DJ Mike was self sufficient in making each of those various setups work without a hitch and fun for all of our guests. His music selection is on point (we only provided minimal songs for special dances and entrances he needed direction on) and was attentive knowing exactly where the bride and groom were going to be and when, prepared with the right song or the necessary announcement to get people moving. He was a big part of many lasting memories for Olivia and I as well as all of our guests - people still bring it up weeks after.
