I have weeds growing out of my deck boards that sits 5-6 feet off the ground! My deck frame/support boards measure 3", he put a board 2 1/4" on top leaving a large gap for dirt, debris and water to collect and sit on top of my deck frame/support boards underneath resulting in weeds. This will also cause rotting on my deck frame/support boards. Railing boards were cut short and uneven too. He was cussing throughout the whole project replacing deck floor joists, floor boards and rails. He couldn't lift the joists and had to wait for a friend of his to come help him lift them, it took him 4 days to remove the wood screws in my existing floor boards grinding away at screws using the wrong bits or stripped bits. He said it was due to his battery on his drill being low but this happened everyday. I asked him a few time to make sure he picked up all the wood screws so I wouldn't get a flat on my riding lawn mower. I ended up finding almost 20 screws he left around my deck and yard and had to buy a magnet sweeper to make sure I picked them all up. It took him over 2 weeks to complete, a job that should've only taken 3-4 days. I know because I've had this done twice before. He spent a lot of time on the phone answering calls and returning phone calls to people while he attempted to work on my deck. When I told Aaron about weeds growing out of my deck, his response was it will cost me to come fix it and he sent me an invoice. He expects me to pay for his mistakes??? He proceeded to tell me he was a one man show and he has no retirement (his words). Like this is supposed to make me feel sorry for him and an excuse for shoddy work?

When his team came out, they left a huge mess after the job was done, and every time the temperature changed for the next five years, pieces of siding would fall off the house. Charlie said it was no longer his responsibility. When I threatened a bad review, he came back out with the original team. The installer took me aside and said he had no experience installing siding, but Charlie had told him he would figure it out. After 8 1/2 years of warping and loose panels, I called another siding contractor. They pointed out gaps in the corners, and said the siding was cut too short to cover normal expansion and contraction. I am now replacing my siding one wall at a time, less than a decade after having new siding installed. Charlie does not seem to care about doing a quality job. So far, we're out $2,400 and are looking at a good $12,000 more. We should have sued.

Shortly after the work was completed, I noticed that the shower was leaking at the connection point to the pipe. I promptly informed him of the issue, expecting it to be addressed as part of the original installation. On January 22nd, he responded that he could come out to take a look, but mentioned a $75 service fee for the visit. Given that the problem appears to be directly related to the initial installation, I found this unexpected. I replied, asking him to let me know when he would be in the area so he could stop by and assess the issue. It has now been nearly two months, and I have not received any follow-up or resolution. Meanwhile, the shower faucet continues to leak. I would have appreciated more accountability and communication to resolve the problem in a timely manner.

I attempted to fix the problem by adjusting the flow adustment in the valve, but to no avail. I began thinking that our hot water heater was going out. I called MK&B and talked to Al, the owner, and he came by that evening to check it out. ( I live close to him on his way home) and the next day he called to tell me he would have to order a new valve. ( be a few days to a week) Well about 2 days later on a Saturday morning he called to tell me he had the part and he could come by to install it if convienient time for me. I told it was but I kinda expected one of the people that works for him to come by and install the valve. I got to the house and Al was there to do the work, himself. Al proceeded to take things apart when all of a sudden, he said let me try this instead. Low and behold his sudden epithany, worked. Mind you he came by after bussiness hours, ordered and recieved part, and came by on a Saturday to do the work himself. All said and done I asked what do I owe you? He said " nothing , just write me a review on yelp, if would please". So I am with pleasure. Thank you Al and Mission Kitchen and Bath personnel for a job well done. The carpenters that showed up did a fantastic job but if John shows up as your contractor I suggest you look somewhere else for your remodeling needs. Even after several calls and requests to modify a simple door replacement quote he showed up the day of the install with the wrong quote information. This was for a small project as a test run for a bigger project we are planning on doing. All I can say at this point is there's no way we would work with them again. The total lack of follow up and lack of communication is unacceptable when it comes to consumer affairs. The only reason they get 1 star is for the understanding carpenters that did a nice job.
