This dumpster has been sitting on my street, full, for over 3 weeks now. The dumpster was requested by the City of Chicago to collect street cleaning debris. The company knows that it is supposed to come pick up this dumpster, but for whatever reason they haven't done it. It is stinky, unsightly, and taking up precious parking spaces. I called the company to figure out what's going on and they said they haven't been able to pick up the dumpster because there's not enough empty space around it to retrieve it. Seriously? If you managed to park it here, then you should be able to pick it up. This is the city, where people park on the street. If you cannot pick up a dumpster that's parked in the middle of a block then don't park a dumpster in the middle of a block. Or better yet, stick to jobs in the suburbs. Hopefully the City doesn't continue to use this company for street cleaning jobs. read more

It was a Thursday and i needed a 10ft dumpster on Saturday early morning. Karla told me that ALL dumpsters that size where already rented . The time has come for us to clean out our parents garage after 30 years of collecting stuff and never holding a garage sale. I knew we wanted a dumpster and wasn't sure where to begin so I just googled dumpsters around my parents town and Brackenbox came up. I called to get a quote and the person who answered was really helpful and polite. I was worried I needed to schedule the dumpster far in advance but they really only need a one day notice. When I was actually ready for it to be delivered I called the dispatch number and arranged for Saturday morning delivery. They told me it would be there between 7-9am and they actually showed up a little after 6am. This was fine with us because we were already awake and wanted to get started. Our driveway has an incline and I was really worried it wouldn't be able to sit on there for fear that it would roll off, but it was no problem. It only took us 1.5 hours to fill up the dumpster, so at 830am I called asking if they could bring us another one and take this away. This was not a problem and they of course charged me for a 2nd dumpster and sent someone out immediately. We only had to wait 30-45 min for the new one to arrive and they took the full one away. This is going to be our summer of cleaning and purging so I am going to call them in about a month for a 2nd round. I highly recommend them for their friendliness and speed in delivering a dumpster. read more

Due to my contractor's poor planning, I was in dire need of a 30 yard container on a Friday afternoon. After calling several places, the quickest I could get one was Monday afternoon , which would've been disastrous. Then I called Brackenbox and Carla made it happen. Within two hours I had a 30 yarder in front of my Southwest Chicago property for a live-load. The next morning (Saturday) my contract called again and said, "can I get another dumpster today?" I told him no way, but I'd try. Once again, Carla had the 30 yarder out there in two hours. In addition to the great service, their price is VERY COMPETITIVE. I've ordered over a hundred roll off dumpsters within the last 15 years....never have I received such poor service before. Stained my driveway with oil from the drop off truck....refused to come remove it.......then the pick up truck dumped most of three yard rock we put in the dumpster back onto my driveway. Driver didn't apologize.....then didn't say thank you when I asked my son's to help him get it up. I will use roll off dumpsters again but NEVER with Brakenbox!! No one has come out to investigate the claim nor remove the stain. read more

This is an ok Company. I was doing some excavation work in my basement and needed to haul 6 ten foot dumpster of dirt and broken concrete. These guys were ok with reasonable prices when I started. Afterward, they got greedy overnight, changed the price structure, expecting me to pay twice as much for my future dumpsters. Need less to say I went back on google and found a much better price. read more

Very negative experience. I initially had high hopes when the dispatcher pulled up a satellite photo of my lot to ensure it would fit. First day they send the wrong size box despite my asking for a specific size and their review of the lot. The lot was closed off by a gate and I had to pay someone to be there. I called and Karla from dispatch promised to have one next day between 10 and 2 when my worker could be there again. She would call my worker at 9am to narrow the delivery window. Fine, I would let them fix the mistake. No call and no dumpster. We call at 2pm and they agree to bring it between 4 and 6. At 2:20pm I get a call from delivery guy that he is there. I tell him my worker left and we were told between 4 and 6. He says he will return then. At 5:20 no dumpster, so we call and they say they will be there in an hour. At 7pm I call and get voicemail. We have lost 2 days of productivity and I've paid someone to be there for 2 days for nothing. They do not respect their clients time and their word is worthless. Edit: At 8pm driver Lee showed up with the dumpster. Had to scramble to get gate opened because it was unexpected but his hard work to get dumpster in a tight spot increased my rating from a 1 to a 4. read more

My brother and I run a construction company and we have our own rolloff dump truck so we frequently need to go to a dump yard. While Brackenbox is a little bit out of the way for us their exceptional customer service and lower prices make them our #1 go to. Jimmy and Carla are fantastic. In fact I usually don't have to get out of my truck anymore because they know how much I weigh lol. The guys in the yard are always of help to me. If some of the material in my dumpster is frozen they'll have a digger scrap the box out for me. Good luck finding this service at Ravenswood or Lakeshore! I order just one big box for my house since I was moving out, and I called them a week ahead of time to come out at 8:00 am. They told me I have to order before hand to place an order. I'm pretty sure that's why I called one week prier for a box. They told me that they are going to come out in two weeks. Then I rescheduled my schedule to fit with them, to get my friends and family to help me move with the moving company. One of the worst in the area I used there service and not only did they not deliver box at wrong time they took a week to pick up after I called them , also I asked if the weight of there vehicle would do any damage to my driveway n they assured me no, then when they completely destroyed my driveway they gave me multiple people and numbers to call all of which led to nowhere and no callbacks. Afterwards I found many others had same problem with them . We order three containers from Bracken box. First two went fine delivered and pick up as promised Drop off and picked up without any damage. The third pick up completely placed deep rut and broke up the concrete pad. Contacted the company and eventually did send out a representative to review the damage. The party did agree to repair the rut and black top the pad after the f=ground thawed. Originally delivery was November. Now in March contacted the company several no return calls finally contacted the owner. Owner says "I don't care what was said, I am the owner and will not repair the damages". Watch out if you receive a commitment from this company. read more
