I've been going to Bra Genie for a really long time, so I've been absolutely spoiled. Went with my mom this time. I shopped the sale rack and looked around the store. I didn't initially ask for a fitting, but I eventually got paired with Amy to check the fit on the items I tried on before purchasing them. She was really nice and comfortable to work with! My mom's fitter was a bit gruff apparently which is disappointing, but she found great items to buy as well. Great selection and friendly, helpful employees overall. I have been coming to bra genie since October 2018. I had always had a hard time finding bras that fit me and was constantly being put into DDD bras at other large bra shops. I thought it was normal to be uncomfortable until I came to bra genie. I have seen a few bra fitters but have worked pretty consistently with Diane for several years now. Obviously the amazing selection of bras keeps me coming back but the main thing I love about bra genie is the personal care I receive every single time I come to the shop. Diane and the other girls remember my name, ask me questions about things in my life, and actually spend time with me and it makes the service luxury. I got bras from VS & they were a poor fit. Sabrina helped me find my new bra size after having my son which is actually a 36D & she came in the fitting room to make sure it fit properly. If you wear a bra chances are that you wear the wrong size. Most folks do is what I hear. This is a great place to find out what size you should be wearing and then they have a HUGE inventory of bras in this size that you didn't know you should be wearing. (my number went down 2 sizes and my letter went to a place that I didn't know letters went, seriously incredible.) They take you into your own personal fitting room, measure the girls and then come back with a few options to try on so you can see what works for you. I ended up walking out with three new bras and a bikini top that is sized like a bra. (hooray!) They are not cheap, but good quality things aren't, and they have a big rack of last seasons styles at drastically discounted prices. Once you get measured you can dig through the sale rack and find some really good deals. One of the bras that I purchased was originally $105, but I got it for $30!! SCORE!!! She really deserves a fancy bottle and some smoke and music to appear when you invoke her. I'm amazed. This woman, the owner, Jeanne, can look at you and, within an INSTANT, tell you what your bra needs are. AMAZING! Appointments aren't required (though I'm sure they'd appreciate them), and I didn't make one. I went on a Wednesday and waited a mere few minutes before I was called for my bra-tervention with Karen. ... Who ROCKED, by the way! Me n Karen were together in the dressing room for about 2 hours together and this lady totally hooked it up! I never "browsed" for a bra; Karen knew exactly what to look for and bring to me. Service!!! I have been uncomfortable in a "real" bra for my entire adult life, opting instead for bralettes n such, but I'm a convert! I learned several very helpful hints and, after Karen's guiding, basically rebuilt my bra wardrobe. They ship for free, too, so if something you want (say, that strapless in black) isn't in the store, they'll order it, no problem! Please, ladies. Do yourself a huge favor and get thee to the genie! I thought I might have less to choose from since they're the only bra store in town but rest assured they have everything from every-day bras, to flirty fun pieces, to comfort wear, swimwear, the list goes on. I was paired one-on-one with Samantha and she was extremely helpful and knowledgeable about the different styles and benefits of each. It was a relaxing and fun experience and I left feeling relieved and happy. The one question I have is if the assistants get paid commission from a sale. Another great experience at the Bra Genie! This is customer service at it's finest. The specialists work with you one on one and make you feel at ease. The selection is amazing, especially if you do not have an average size, or have particular needs. They also offer bathing suits by some of the lingerie companies. The atmosphere is great and they take the time to get to know their clients and maintain the database. Free shipping is offered and appointments are a must for your initial visit, especially on a Saturday, but feel free to pop in if you're in the area, as they are adequately staffed to handle your needs without an appointment. I've been going here for years, and it's THE best place in the area to be fitted for and find a comfortable bra. The ladies here know how to measure your band and cup sizes properly. Don't go to Dillard's, and especially don't go to Victoria's Secret. VS workers will measure you, and if you don't fit in a D cup or smaller, they will lie to you about your band size and smash you into something in the store to make a sale. They don't do that at Bra Genie, because they sell any size you need. Before Bra Genie, I was wearing a band 4 inches too big, and a cup 3 sizes too small. The prices here are more expensive than department stores, but the garments are higher quality. Most bras at Bra Genie have multiple seams on each cup, giving proper support for breasts instead of stuffing them into a one-size-fits-all foam pad. My favorite brand here is Curvy Kate. I can't recommend this place enough. read more

Apparently, my guesstimate of my current bra size was off. Way off. I think Jen B and I were having the same issue, because yeah, my band size - the number - went down 4 sizes and the cup size went up. Way up. The result? A bra size that I never would have guessed, but one that fits perfectly. They matched me up with all of the items I needed/wanted for my wedding and for normal wear as well. I LOVE this place!!! I was directed here for a running bra by my running club coach. We did not have an appointment, luckily it was a bit slow at the time, so Nancy fixed me up with a great Freya Active. I never realized how much my back hurt after a long run until I wore the Freya Active, and it didn't hurt!! I have since been back a number of times. I have lost about 50 pounds over the past year, so I had to rebuild my wardrobe. The ladies are always attentive and remember your preferences, and very conscious of the proper fit. I'm in my thirties and have never had a bra fitting before. Having a bra that actually fits has changed my whole center of gravity. My chest doesn't bounce up and down when I walk, plus everything stays where it's put (in my old bras, I was needing to put the girls back where they belong once in a while). All my life, I thought I was a 34B and was actually a 30 DD (keep in mind when you go down a band size you need to go up a cup size). You will never never never find that size (or even learn it exists) in a department store, Victoria's Secret, or even one of the name-brand bra outlets. You'll barely be able to find a 32A. The stat says 80% of women are wearing the wrong size. This means the bra companies are doing a really good job keeping their secrets and women keep shelling out money for bras that will never actually do what they're supposed to. Bra Genie carries a particularly wide range of sizes. (This is compared to specialty stores in other metro areas + NOLA--I've been looking around today trying to find places to send my sister and sister-in-law). I went in thinking I'd need either a 30 or 32C and was shocked by the size I should actually be wearing. If, like me, you think you're within the "normal" range of sizes, you may still save yourself a trip and the cost of a few bras by heading to Bra Genie first. When I went in to the Bra Genie, I was greeted courteously and asked if I'd ever been in before. The woman then assigned me to a fitting specialist who called me by name for the whole visit. All the bras are kept in the back so you don't need to shuffle through the racks. The person I worked with was very friendly, never pushy, asked me about my price range + took it seriously, and she brought me a different brand of bra when I didn't care for the style. I didn't have to try on many bras before I found several that fit great. For those who are shy, there was nothing awkward and never any comment on my breasts. In the fitting room next door, there was a woman trying on G-cups and there was never any comment there either. It wasn't some fakey thing either. The sales people were genuinely helpful and knowledgeable. They want to get you wearing a bra that's great on you. Once you see the difference, you'll be back. I see that the price range for the store is $$$ on Google, and that seems higher than it should be. I'd rate it a $$. It's in a higher-end shopping center, carries mid- and higher-end brands, but the markup at Bra Genie is almost nothing and you're getting to try on plus a professional fitting. Anywhere you go, you'll pay $40 for a bra. Bra Genie has bras in the $40 - $60 range. I got several Chantelle bras that were between $70 and $80 which is exactly what they cost on the Chantelle website. Anyway, I didn't meant to write so much, but I think the store is great and I wish I'd known about it sooner. read more

Brittnee was awesome, she helped me by bringing bras in different sizes to get my size and then brought different type bras in that size. I usually wear a size 32 H but dropped to a 30 H. I purchased a Freya molded cup bra in beige. It was $70. I feel like bras are expensive but for me it's because I wear a size not carried by WalMart, Victoria's Secret, or almost anywhere. I have to shop usually at specialty shops.....Soma doesn't even have my size. I am so glad I went there while I was on the Northshore. I usually cringe trying on bras but she made it effortless. I have made several visits to this store but my last experience has had me so upset that I will never return. My sister and I bought some bras before our cruise and when we returned in one week the bras were falling apart. We took the tredge back over the bridge only to be told by management there was nothing they could do. She actually said considering your size, it's the best we could do. However, my sister who is much smaller than me had the same experience with her bras. I previously spoke so highly of this place. AMAZING!!! If I could give Bra Genie six stars I would! As a large busted woman I truly feel that my new bra changed my life. I am currently nursing my infant son and have just been buying the cheap bras but decided it was time to invest in something that fit great and nothing, not even a commute to the north shore was going to stop me. As other reviewers mentioned if you don't have an appointment you sign in and wait for a fitting. There were two people in front of me and I maybe waited 5 minutes. My husband and baby were with so they sat on the comfy chairs and looked through the stacks of magazines and children's books while I was being fitted. They brought me in the changing room and offered me a pretty silk robe to wear for my comfort. My fitter (the Genie herself) brought me several different styles of nursing bras after measuring me to get a perfect fit. I went up two cup sizes and went down two band sizes. The bra fit perfectly! Oh and if your worried about the cost, when it comes to bras I believe you get what you pay for. And one of the best things about it is they keep all of your information in a computer database so if you come back in they know what your preferences are. And you can make a wish list. If you decide to purchase more bras and don't want to drive they ship to the south shore for free! I loved it so much I told my husband the only gifts I want from now till eternity is gift cards from the Bra Genie. read more

I normally do not write reviews. I don't think it's fair to critique a business on a single bad experience, but I have been to Bra Genie twice and feel I can fairly recount my experiences. I went to Bra Genie because I had heard they had great service and I was completely willing to pay for it. I am, however, quite body-shy & let the saleswoman know that going in. When I asked her to allow me to disrobe and try on the bras myself before she came in and helped me, she told me that was not how it was done. She told me I shouldn't be uncomfortable, she does this all the time. Seriously? She may be comfortable seeing my breasts but that does not mean that I am comfortable having them seen. I know it may be weird to be shy about such things, but I am and do not think it is something I should be shamed about. Because I am polite, I caved and we did it her way, although I was extremely uncomfortable the entire time. I purchased several bras, which pinched a bit, but she assured me that they would stretch and be wonderful after a few wearings. They did not. A year later, I returned to Bra Genie, hoping that my initial experience was simply an anomaly, a salesperson on an off-day perhaps, and I would be able to get some well-fit bras without being made uncomfortable. My second experience was exactly the same as the first. Despite my stated preference to not show my breasts while I changed, the salesperson poo-poo-ed my shyness. When I mentioned that my last purchases did not fit properly, I was told that the fitting problem was the shape of my body, not the size of the bra. I finally came to my senses and left the store without purchasing anything. If you go to this store and get great service I am happy for you. If you are in any way body-shy, however, I cannot recommend that you go here. I found both visits to be extremely humiliating experiences. read more

I just tried my Bra Genie bras again.after several years. I don't usually write negative reviews but every time I see these bras, I get angry. I bought them several years ago. After I wore them the first time, I realized that the material they were made out of was extremely scratchy on me. I had misplaced the receipt so I called the store, I think I even talked to the owner. I was told that they could not be returned because I had worn them. Needless to say, I will not be back. Ms. Emory, My friend and I had a terrible experience in Bra Genie yesterday. My friend is getting married this year and needed to be fitted for a bra. While I was there I decided and signed up to be fitted as well. While waiting for the next available salesperson, one of your employees made quite the scene in the front of your store. She rolled her eyes and stated quite loudly, "I don't know who these girls think they are, wanting to be fitting together. I don't have time to fit two girls at the same time! Let me go see where I can even put these girls to be fitted." In addition, several of your employees stated, I don't want to fit two girls together either. My friend and I watched the whole thing unfold in front of your store. My friend explained to her we never had any intention of being fitted together. We never stated that. She ASSUMED it. In addition, your employee NEVER apologized for her behavior. I am horrified and disgusted with the poor customer service we received at the store. We came to your store to have a nice experience. To enjoy time together and share in the joy of her upcoming marriage. I have never been treated so poorly in a store in my entire life. I do not appreciate being treated that way. No customer should ever be treated that way. We came to spend money, and frankly I don't give a dime to a company who allows their employees to treat customers that way. I am a highly educated professional working in St. Tammany Parish. I will never again set foot in your store due to such poor customer service. Furthermore, I plan on telling everyone in the community of my terrible experience at your store. The shop has nice bras but I would NOT return to purchase anything here. The owner seems to believe it is acceptable to insult her customers. I can't imagine a place that sells bras mostly priced over $100.00 would be willing to insult anyone walking thru the door, but the owner has managed to make rude comments to a relative I was shopping with as well as another friend that had been in the store previously. When I was first told of the rude comments, I thought she may have been exaggerating a bit, but witnessing first hand her rudeness was something that was quite shocking to me. I was in Mandeville with a few hours to kill and used my Yelp app to lookup what shopping was around me. I saw the Bra Genie close by and have wanted to go there since my sister-in-law told me about it. The store is located in a cute little mall. I walked in and was instantly greeted warmly by two ladies, Sara and Sharon. They asked if I'd like a fitting and then led me to a dressing room where the measured me. I am a 34K so I haven't been to a store that's had my bra size since I left Chicago, 15 years ago. The women were very knowledgeable and kind, finding me pretty matches and so many things that fit me well. I actually teared up in the dressing room at one point as I was so happy to find such well fitting, beautiful bras. I bought about 6 bras and a number of panties, even a few specialty camisoles. I just can't properly express how fulfilling this experience was, but any big bosomed women should appreciate my sentiments. Thanks for making such an unexpectedly lovely afternoon! Be careful! They might fit you with the wrong bra size. I tried on several pairs and picked 2 that I felt fit nicely. When I sat down later, after purchasing the bras, the band cut into my ribcage and the under-wire was too shallow.
