Had Danny come out for a quote for blow-in insulation in my 3/2. He spent 5-10 min in the attic and…read morethen gave a verbal quote drastically higher than two other companies. When I said that, he mentioned he would get back to me as he had some insulation left in his shop he could use. Later on he texts that he can beat the other cheapest guy and after some questions about depth, baffels, tacking back up some fallen skylight roll. There was a question about using a credit card so I could get points on this, but I was told he doesn't have a way to process them contrary to what C&C states on here, so I agreed to use Zelle. He and his crew showed up on time as scheduled. Before getting started, Danny needed to be reminded about baffles and fixing the roll around the skylight. The later of which was not mentioned on the written proposal. Some time into the process, I'm in the bathroom near the back of the house and hear a loud crunch. When I come out and look on the enclosed, carpeted back porch, there is a big hole in the drywall with a nice pile of old cellulose and a growing pile of fresh fiberglass fill coming out. My girlfriend, who was on the porch watering plants said she saw a foot come through and asked if they were going to fix that... I tape the drywall closed to stop additional fiber from coming through and wait for Danny to leave the attic. Knowing what happened, I simply asked if I needed to get everything moved for it to be fixed that day, or If he would need to come back. He made some comment about his plastic hose being in that area and came to look at the damage saying his guy would come back to fix it. I don't appreciate being BSd, but okay as long as it's corrected. He has his guys come look at it and I hear Danny through the very thin, single-pane door saying something about seeing light start coming through (so you know it happed, why would you wait to say something?) and another comment about "soft drywall".The fellow who was to fix it stayed to inspect the hole and asked me if I was sure the hole wasn't there before to which I assured him we don't leave holes in our ceiling with piles of insulation laying around where our pets hang out at night... It was mentioned later in the garage while taking a look at the insulation that he only said that because of the tape I put on it. Still, my taping it was mentioned to Danny when we went to look at the damage. Also, use some deductive reasoning. Danny and the repair guy showed up the next day to repair. Cool, right? Aside from them dropping their one piece of drywall for the hole and dinging up the corners, I figure it is getting done so I leave them to it. As they are finishing up, my girlfriend and I are talking while watching globs of putty fall onto the carpet while they try to vacuum it up. Danny and his guy leave the porch and I check out the repair that, quite frankly looks like toddler with a putty knife tried to pull off. Piled on putty, not feathered, negative edge on 3 of four sides exceeding 4.75mm depth then hear a knock on the front door (mind you I can be seen in my office 10 feet from the repair area the whole time). What contractor wouldn't want to make sure everything looks good on the repair? One that doesn't want you to see it before they are paid is the feeling I get. Danny is asking to settle up on the agreed cost and that his guy would be back to "sand if I wanted".. When asked about an additional discount considering I'll now need to level the edges with compound and finish it correctly myself not to mention the hours spent cleaning up the area because of the damage to make it pet-safe. He comments that "we are not drywall guys". I did not mention the additional hours spent using ice, acetone, and scraper to get the putty out of the carpet in 4 different spots. Danny says he can't go any lower because he can hardly pay his guys as is... Yeah, well, don't damage someone's house then try to minimize it and provide a subpar repair. If your guy doesn't know what he is doing, watching a damn YouTube video. The other solution is not bid out so tight that you have zero room for error. Besides, shouldn't you be insured for stuff like this? Danny is a friendly guy and seems to have done a good job with the insulation itself (though I'll be walking the whole attic in Tyvek this weekend to look over everything), which is great. But be very wary that if something goes wrong during the job, there is a strong likelihood the issue will not be addressed properly. I made a mistake choosing C&C. The work has been photo documented before and after just in case this issue comes to litigation.

Big Thanks to Energy First & Supply - Outstanding Attic Insulation Work…read more I want to give a big thank you to Energy First & Supply for the excellent work they did insulating our attic and correcting several thermal issues throughout the space. Robert and his team were exactly what I was hoping to find in a local installer. Robert showed up on time, performed a thorough on-site inspection, and provided a very competitive estimate. Everything was explained clearly, and he had a solid plan to resolve some unique challenges with our skylights so they could be properly insulated -- something other companies didn't even address. The crew went above and beyond my expectations. They arrived on time, were extremely clean and respectful of my property, and handled additional issues they discovered during installation, including leaky ductwork and older insulation that was blocking attic vents. They didn't just ignore those problems -- they fixed them. The results were immediate. I could feel the difference in the air conditioning temperature and airflow in the house while they were still working. That alone says a lot about the quality of their work. Excellent customer service, friendly technicians, and quality craftsmanship. I wouldn't hesitate to use Energy First & Supply again and highly recommend them to friends and family in the area. Thank you again -- you guys did an awesome job.
