I had Dave Weikel as my inspector for a row home in Philly. Truly uninformed and a terrible inspector. He was misinformed telling me "oh you have an old water heater but if you let it go you can get insurance to redo some issues in the basement " not true no insurance covers that damage. He refused to go into the attic crawl space which was unsealed (instead of an attic door it was a loose piece of drywall) and turns out had multiple cracked joists. He took pictures of my roof and said my open chimney needed to be capped without citing the myriad of issues in the chimney that was visible just by shining a light inside. He missed a completely rusted lintel and window frame that had a birds nest . I hired a lawyer to go after this and they claimed because I did not get good enough picture of the before they would just refund my original fees plus the costs of the sewer scope and radon. Great! Now I just have to deal with the thousands of dollars of missed visible items. Things that did not require any digging. The water drain in the back was complete cracked from the outside. Something I missed because I did not move some debris around the drain. I did not know all row homes and this function. He "an inspector" didn't even bother to check that the drain spout at the rear of the house was leading to nowhere. Avoid these people at all costs. I did not know enough about how to look for houses and trusted my realtor and inspector who were absolute clowns. read more

Mike Callery is working in BPG he didn't inform me of the hole on the side of my roof. I filed complain to the company and provide them with picture that I took with my phone. They didn't do anything about this no investigation no refund no nothing. I think my next step will be to report Mike Callery in small court. Do not do business with BPG. read more

I used Buyers Protection Group for my home purchase and could not be more happy with them! Our inspector was Michael Conti. He was very thorough, knowledgeable, and systematic in his inspection. The home we purchased was a "flip" and although everything looked wonderful, Michael found some major issues that would have cost us thousands. The home was built in the 1930's, and we were told that the electric was "completely updated". Michael found knob in tube wiring in the walls, basement and attic. We were told that there was no underground oil tank. Michael found not only the oil lines, but the tank fill outside below two feet of mulch. We were told that the roof was "newer", and it turned out that the roof was over 15 years old. I will refer BPG and especially Michael to everyone! read more

Michael Parfomak is the man for the job! I have used Michael many times in the recent past and plan on using him every time moving forward. Inspections can be a little overwhelming at times, as the object is to point out anything and everything that is currently an issue or could become an issue down the line. With this being the case, an inspector has to be able to explain things in detail to the clients so they understand all the ins and outs. Mike is a wealth of knowledge!! From his own investment properties, to his home that he renovated from top to bottom, he has seen it all. Every client that I have recommended him to has thanked me for providing them with someone that takes the time to explain how things work and what to expect moving forward. We had our home inspections yesterday with Pete Aiello. HE WAS GREAT!!! Checked out everything to do with the house inside and out. The good, the bad and the ugly was found, all minors except for one major thing. He was very nice about explaining some of the stranger things in the yard (like a very rusty old well pipe) etc.. After he had finished his inspection he asked if he could answer any questions on what he had found. Report had a 24 hour turn around which was very nice. Now onto trying to get the major problem fixed and I hope the rest of our process goes smoothly for our "new" house. I needed a thorough inspection on very short notice of an old house I co-owned with my brothers before making an offer to buy them out. We had hired this company several years ago when making an offer on another house, and were very pleased with them at that time, so we called them again about 5 pm on Friday. The person who handled the call was efficient and professional, and was able to find an inspector (Gary Chadwick) to come out to my house the very next morning. Gary was amazing -- he knew so much about home construction and mechanicals, even on 120 year old houses like mine. He could look at stains on the basement floor and tell me what kind of heater used to be there and how it was hooked up to the house. He tested every outlet and every window, he looked at the electrical setup and the plumbing. He climbed up onto the top of the roof, peered down the chimney, inspected every inch of the inside, attic to basement. He even crawled into a narrow crawl space in order to make sure we didn't have termites (we didn't!). He was patient with my questions and took extra time to explain things to me as he found them. His report arrived within 2 business days and was 32 pages long with many pictures and good advice on each item that needed attention. He flagged the important items, but covered everything, even things that we might hold off on fixing. I highly recommend this firm. I cannot imagine anyone being more thorough and more professional. read more
