Great prices on gas, beverages, quick snacks. And I love their crushed ice.

Audubon Park

5 Star updated review for really friendly service and a safe environment…read more A 7-Eleven is a 7-Eleven, but what sets this one apart is its location in the heart of residential Audubon Park, where it's been for many decades, and the staff. They carry the usual goods, including tons of snacks, some toys, slurpees, hot dogs, bottled drinks, etc. they have a couple of gas pumps and air as well. The last time I went in, I was with my niece who begged for me to take her to 7-Eleven for her 5th birthday day with her tía (me). It was an odd request, but she was so excited that I had to make it happen. The two women working that day were nice, but when I told them about her birthday and that all she wanted in this world was a slurpee, they literally sang her happy birthday and gushed about her! They made her smile from ear to ear! Beyond that one occasion, anytime I go in I have really lovely interactions with the staff. And, it's worth noting that I feel safe going to this 7-Eleven as a woman at night. That's more than I can say about every gas station, and it's likely due to the nature of the residential location in a very visible spot. Overall, I really appreciate the folks who work here- they made my niece's day!

Costco - Decent Udon Soup. Easy to prepare

Costco

Mixed Feelings Edition…read more Costco is honestly one of those places you both love and question every single visit . On one hand, the value is unbeatable -- good quality products, bulk pricing, and gas that doesn't make you cry at the pump (especially when your car only takes premium... yes, I feel that pain). The Good: There's a huge variety of brands and seasonal finds, and I always end up discovering something new whether I planned to or not. From snacks to home essentials to random "didn't know I needed this" items -- it's dangerously fun. The bakery and ready-to-eat food section are solid, and the famous food court still hits when you want something quick and cheap after a long shopping run. The Not-So-Fun Parts: Let's talk about the crowds... because wow. Parking can feel like a sport, aisles get chaotic, and somehow everyone shows up at the same time. You walk in for one thing and leave with a cart full of everything except what you came for. Lines move fast most of the time, but peak hours definitely test your patience. Overall Thoughts: Costco is a love-and-hate relationship -- amazing deals and quality, but you need mental preparation before going in. Come with a list, come early if you can, and accept that you'll probably still overspend. Would I keep my membership? Absolutely. Would I mentally prepare myself before every visit? Also yes. Pizza and hot dog - absolute must every visit

Ah yes... Costco at the Winter Park location -- the place you somehow love and love to complain…read moreabout at the same time . But honestly, it's still one of my go-to spots for everyday living essentials, groceries, and those random finds you didn't know you needed until you walked in. Let's start with the positives because there are many. The variety here is amazing -- tons of brand-name options, bulk household items, fresh food, snacks, and seasonal treasures that somehow always make their way into my cart. And can we talk about the gas prices? If your car runs on premium like mine, you know how much of a win it is to fill up here at a more reasonable price. Now... the reality check. This location is always busy. Morning, afternoon, weekday, weekend, holidays -- it truly doesn't matter. Even with the newer Executive warehouse opening nearby (which we're honestly lucky to have), this store still stays packed. The checkout lines can feel long, and navigating through the aisles sometimes feels like a full-on mission. That said, being an Executive member definitely has its perks. Early access helps a bit, and despite the crowds, the staff keeps things moving pretty efficiently. The lines may look intimidating, but they usually move faster than expected. At the end of the day, this Costco is still a solid one-stop shop for everything -- from groceries and home essentials to quick food court runs. Yes, it's crowded. Yes, you might spend more than you planned. But somehow you'll still find yourself coming back because the value and selection just make it worth it.
