I went to this Sunoco to rent a U-Haul after spending half the morning trying to rent a truck from…read moredifferent Home Depots in the area. There was a mature man of Indian decent working at the counter. When I came in, I noticed a van parked along side some small trucks and asked if the van was available. The man said it was reserved, I said that was unfortunate because I needed to pick up a piece of furniture. I reluctantly decided to go with the small truck. The man was not especially friendly, and a little abrupt and condescending, but I still moved forward with the rental and thought he might of been having a bad day. A gentleman, who happened to be of white decent, walked in and stood at a respectable distance behind me, In the middle of my transaction, the man summons the gentleman behind me to come forward. Nothing was said to me, I looked behind me and the man apologized and said, so sorry, I know you were here before me and your not finished. I brushed it off, and said, I guess my transaction takes a lot longer. The man then got on a phone call with a woman and was very nice and laughing wile speaking his language. My intuition said, this is not going well, but I remained due to limited options. Is anyone noticing that the man did not address me as a patron and say, allow me to take this man real quick? SMH We finally finish and he gives me a document with the mileage and a service charge about the gas gauge being below 3/4 of a tank when returned. I take the key to find the vehicle(the number is on the key chain) and to my amazement, it's the VAN that I as told was reserved! I was in shock and confusion, but was in a hurry because I had a time deadline for the pick-up. I open the door and it's obvious the van hasn't been cleaned in quite awhile. We are at the height of a pandemic and the truck is FILTHY with crumbs in the passenger chair and 10 lbs of dust along the dashboard and dirty floors. I go to my vehicle and get my PPE items and rush to clean the vehicle. I also take a picture of the mileage with my cellphone. I return and give in the key and say to the same man he did the rentail that the truck was filthy. His response was, well you shouldn't have rented it. WHAAAAAT????? The conversation, or better yet, loud discussion did NOT get any better from there. This man was belligerent, rude, and has an issue. I also got the impression, that he was going to try to up charge me. Let's just say, the mileage on the paper he gave me was not the same mileage that I took in my screenshot. The ENTIRE experience was NOT a good one. I'm not sure if he's the owner, but I wouldn't send my worst enemy there to even by gas.
