All of the GT trucks use the QT. That said, this is a good station. This one has more automotive supplies - such as gas cans, and bigger selection of oils, etc.

I'm surprised I'm the First to Review this BP at the corner of 14th and Atlantic in West Midtown…read more This BP has been around since at least April 2016 and this Yelp listing has been around for years as well. Yelp isn't as popular as it used to be. You can find this BP in between Atlantic Station and Georgia Tech, on the west side of the Downtown Connector (I-75/85). I was able to find premium gas here two evenings ago on Monday, May 17, 2021. That was exactly 10 days after the Colonial Pipeline cyberattack on May 7th that created a gas shortage on the East Coast: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Colonial_Pipeline_cyberattack. Rounding up, I paid $4.20 per gallon here. That's the most I've paid for premium since May and June 2014 when I paid $4.00 per gallon at the QuikTrip stores on Clairmont and North Druid Hills Roads. Given the recent shortage, I was okay with it. Since I started tracking my gas spending, the highest per-gallon price I've paid was $4.90 on September 22, 2008. Gas prices were expensive in 2008. Coincidentally, I pumped that gas at this very location. Back then, this was the 14th Street Citgo: https://www.yelp.com/biz/14th-st-citgo-atlanta. At the time, this was the only gas station on the stretch of 14th between the interstate and Northside (41). Now, there's the relatively new Exxon. This gas station changed from Citgo to BP sometime between May 2015 and April 2016 according to Google Street View. Before landing on this BP, I passed the nearby Exxon and Shell stations on 14th and the BP and QT at 10th and Northside. Those four stations were completely out of gas. I then went to the nearby Shell on Spring. They had regular only. Luckily, this BP had all three grades. It was the last station I passed on my way home from my mini search around the neighborhood. My friends and mother-in-law have filled up at this BP before, but this week was my first time. In Atlanta, I prefer QT or Costco (if it's convenient depending on where I am) because they have lower prices. This is a small BP with only six pumps. It's next door to Wagaya and Chirori, which are great Japanese restaurants, and Trio Custom Clothiers, where I've gotten my custom suits and tux. Good businesses. This BP is on GetUpside so you can get free money back if you check in using the GetUpside app. During the gas shortage, I was surprised to see that GetUpside was offering $0.03 back per gallon at this BP. Better than nothing. The GetUpside money back amounts are usually significantly larger than that. If you've never used GetUpside before, use my invite code DANIEL66482 to get an extra $0.15 back per gallon the first time you use the app. There are no tricks or gimmicks, at least for the consumer. The app simply gives you free money back off your gas purchases. It's a no-brainer. Yesterday afternoon, the AJC reported "Half of Atlanta gas stations still dry." https://www.ajc.com/news/half-of-atlanta-gas-stations-still-dry/YUPTYU4I6ZBC5M4G4SPU5HDQQ4/

This Exxon is located on the north side of Midtown, near the border with Buckhead to the north and Ansley Park to the east. I think that's why this Exxon is called "Uptown Station," because it's still central to the city, on Peachtree Road, north of downtown, but not quite Buckhead yet. This is an affluent part of the city. Directly across the street sits Rhodes Hall, a "castle" that is both an Atlanta landmark and listed in the National Register of Historic Places. I stopped by Uptown Station on my way home from the dentist. Uptown Station isn't very big. It's got eight pumps, four on either side of the convenience store. It looks like it had a three-bay garage at one point which has since been converted into additional store space. The store looks somewhat modernized. There's not a whole lot of space to maneuver at the front of the property. Fortunately, there's more space and a parking lot in the back. Uptown Station was moderately busy during my Tuesday late morning visit. Unsurprisingly, it was mostly the store that was busy and not the pumps. There was a Comcast Xfinity tech working atop the pole directly across from pump 2. I used pump 1 and it was in good working order. No problems. The station felt safe, but it was also during the daytime. I'd come back here if I was in a pinch.

I was finally lucky enough to get my hands on the limited-time Bahama Mama doughnut, and YES, it was fresh when I got it. I'm a doughnut girl through and through, so I was super excited--and it did not disappoint. The flavor? Loved it. Also, can we talk about the breakfast pizza? It's one of my personal faves, and I always recommend it to folks who haven't tried it yet. Add in the nitro cold brew bar--because I loveeeee my coffee--and it's a win all around. This QT is just consistently great. Whether I'm grabbing a quick snack, filling up on gas, or running in for coffee, they never miss. Highly recommend this location if you're in the area!

The selection of refrigerated grab-and-go beverages one may choose from is overwhelming. Take the sexy bottles of H2O on display. Exquisite. They even carry that often touted delicacy, charcoal filtered water. This is often the most popular option if one can afford it. By now you are wondering if I'll ever mention them: Energy Drinks. The creme de la creme of gas station thirst quenchers. Truly, this is where QT shines. Their selection is unparalleled and the prices often reflect this variety. Then there are the Freezonis, QT's famous frozen slush drinks in fruity flavours and colours. They are every child's fantasy and QT is so happy to oblige the future leaders of America. Other excellent options are the brewed and fancy coffees alike. QT doesn't leave out your furry little friends. They offer snacks and other choice items for your furbabies. There are many offerings that have nothing to do with one's mouth & belly. Freely peruse the small, overpriced, but conveniently accessible household or automobile related items. It's all far too sophisticated for the likes of me. Incidentally, they offer varieties of fuel.

This is the one at 1856 Piedmont Ave NE, Atlanta, GA 30324, next to The Pagoda Chinese Restaurant and across the street from Sprouts Farmers Market. I originally planned to fill up at the BP at the corner of Cheshire Bridge and Lindbergh (2320 Cheshire Bridge Rd NE), not too far away, but some of their pumps were out of premium *and* the price for premium was over $4 a gallon (this was before the war in Ukraine caused prices to spike). I know you don't go to BP for cheap gas, but even I have my limits. I continued on home, saw this BP, and pulled in. Sub-$4 premium gas and $0.12 per gallon cash back via GetUpside was good enough for me. Unlike most gas stations I've used GetUpside at, in order to get cash back at this BP, I had to submit a photo of my receipt to GetUpside. It was an extra step. It can also cause a delay (2-4 business days) in the processing time for the cash back. If you haven't used GetUpside (app) before, I recommend it. Use my invite code DANIEL66482 to get an extra $0.15 per gallon cashback the first time you use the app. The app has worked well for me over the past 1.5+ years. It's free cash back with no gimmicks, so a no-brainer, like the restaurant app Seated (which I also use). This is your run-of-the-mill BP. It's small, with only 8 pumps, 4 on either side of the convenience store. No automatic car wash. I used pump 7 and the buttons and receipt area were dirty and worn. The pump worked fine, though, and disengaged at the right time. Receipt printed clearly. This BP is open 24/7. I visited on a Tuesday shortly after 8pm and I saw an employee ride up on his bike to start his shift. He was in good spirits. "Piedmont BP" is what printed on top of my pump receipt here.

Despite its rough appearance, it's actually not that bad of a place. Gas prices are usually at least 10 cents cheaper than the BP station a couple miles north in Buckhead. I never thought I'd say that about a gas station, but I always seem to be jamming out while I'm at the pump.

There's plenty of other great gas stations (Exxon, BP, Sunoco, Texaco, Chevron at Lindbergh to name a few) that are about as close to me. So what was the straw that broke things for me? All I wanted was a bottle of water. Simple easy stuff right? I go inside, I grab my water. The guy behind the counter is an older looking guy with a graying moustache who is on the phone. Okay no problem, you can put the phone down or do two things at once, right dude? Apparently not. I stood there and stood there while he yammered on with his buddy or lover or psychiatrist or whatever. I said excuse me, I just need to pay for this and go. He pretended not to hear me. I said excuse me again, pulled out some money and let him know that I really needed to get going. Still no response to me but plenty to whoever he was talking to as he held up the universal wait just a minute finger to me. That was when I told him that his priority needs to be taking care of his customers, not his telephone conversations. He held his hand up, gave me a nasty look and then turned his back to me. So I told him that was it, he could keep his water and I was never coming back, he just lost a good customer. Needless to say, he continued to be far more concerned about his telephone conversation than the loss of a single customer. I've been a very loyal customer of Chevron in general for years and I have to say that of all the gas stations, grocery and convenience stores I've been to over the years, this one easily ranks as one of the worst ever. I wish I could say that the old adage that if you don't take care of your customers, someone else will, would ring true enough for this place that they either wake up and smell the 2 day old overpriced coffee or go out of business, but it doesn't work that way. There will always be enough people who continue to go there despite some of the highest prices and the absolute worst service I've ever seen. It might not mean much to you Peachtree Hills Chevron, but for what its worth, this is one customer you won't be seeing again.

But fine--I needed gas, and I didn't feel like hunting for a better price. What I didn't need was the hostile attitude from the woman behind the bulletproof glass--yes, actual bulletproof glass, which should have been my first red flag. I simply asked where the Red Bull was (not that complicated), and you'd think I asked her to scale a mountain. Instead of doing the bare minimum--like, I don't know, pointing--she just stared at me like I was the problem. Still trying to be polite, I grabbed my drink and some chips, thinking maybe it was just a bad moment. But when I asked for directions to Marietta, the floodgates opened. She snapped that she "wasn't a tour guide" and didn't get paid to help people who aren't her "regulars." The contempt in her voice was stunning. I've been to gas stations all over this country, and never--not even once--have I been spoken to like an inconvenience just for asking a simple question. It's no wonder this place is dragging along with a sad little 2.5 rating. Honestly, that's generous. If the owner reads this and cares even remotely about customer service--or basic human decency--they should seriously reevaluate who they allow to represent their business. Because this? This was embarrassing.
