The Markham family has had a horrific family tragedy that I am sure is currently taking its toll on them and their business. I have a home (Ocala) built in 2002 with two (2) heat pumps The builder-installed heat pumps were…read moreby a no-name manufacturer. Starting in 2006, these units needed annual repairs that started at ~$350 and eventually got as high as $950. So when one of the units died (again) in 2012, I decided enough - replace both units with reliable name brand units. I had several estimates from Ocala-based HVAC companies, but decided to see if a Gainesville-based company would do an install and service. I am very glad that I made the call! Bob and his crew were exceptionally professional. Right off the bat, Bob did a heat load analysis to see what size units were necessary. Unlike most of the local companies (who merely looked at the existing units and offered to replace them with same-sized units), Bob engineered a system that fit the house. Bob and his crew installed Carrier Performance series SEER 15 variable speed indoor and outdoor units + new copper lines + installed new "intelligent" thermostats with humidity-control (a plus in FL) + a high efficiency 4" Honeywell paper filter system + sealed all duct work vents (to prevent conditioned air from escaping into non-living areas) + included a 1-year service contract. For about the same price (+/- $200) as the next lowest bidder (using the same Carrier-brand equipment), proposed to install lower-grade Comfort-series non-variable speed units + a similar dry filter system + reuse old thermostats + reuse old copper lines + no duct work sealing + no maintenance plan. Hmmm . . . which do you think was a better deal? The new systems are much quieter than the old OEM equipment, run less frequently for shorter periods of time and do a better job of maintaining indoor air quality. BTW, when I mention the systems run more quietly (both inside systems and outside coils), let me give a couple examples: (i) Outside coil systems: the OEM systems could be heard literally down the street (at least 3 -4 houses away); the new units can barely be heard from my mailbox; (ii) one of indoor units runs so quietly that the only way to tell it is running is put your ear on the box and listen - quietly!

Two words: ETHICAL and HONEST…read more My six year old a/c unit froze up. I thought it was the dirty filter. To play safe I called out my original A/C company, MId Fla Heating and Air. Their tech, Joshua tells me the blower motor is bad. Cost to replace over 2K. After some slick talking he convinces me to drop 9K on a whole new system. Thankfully I got bad vibes and called Babiones. Two techs arrive promptly (within 3 hours). The lead tech, Jeremy says the motor is fine but it was not getting a "call" AKA signal to ramp up. He does some diagnostics and finds a bad thermostat ($260) Big difference in price!! Basically Mid Fla was unethical and dishonest. They did many other unethical things but you read about their tactics in my review about them on Yelp or Google. This is about Babiones and as I said at the outset they are honest and ethical. Sad to think that in the heat of the summer companies like Mid Fla prey on seniors on a fixed income. Hats off to Babiones. I intend to find the biggest megaphone I can and spread the good word. I eventually made it back to the master bedroom, searching for the awful smell and BAM, there it was! The entire room had standing water. I opened up the doors to the other rooms and discovered all three rooms, two bathrooms and living room have been affected by the standing water. I was very stressed, needless to say. I reached out to a plumber (review to come soon) and he put be in touch with this business. I am so glad! They came out immediately and assured me they would help me throughout the process. I do not think I could have been sent better people!! Seriously, Garrison and Mike have been super helpful! Garrison has been communicating very well as far as what they are doing, what to expect and their plans for the following day. He's been very empathetic and caring throughout this. I have a LOT of belongings and the majority have been destroyed. The worst part is, I was in the midst of unpacking before I left a month ago because I recently purchased this home. I have boxes of clothes, shoes, accessories, purses and so much more that are now trash. Mold on so many things. Due to the bed sitting in water, the legs have cracked, clothes on hangers in the closet smell like mold. It's a disaster. I was upset at the beginning because this is not what one wants to walk into. My plan was to unpack boxes, not pack up what I can salvage. Needless to say, IF you find yourself in need of a restoration company (which I hope you don't), you can't go wrong with Garrison and Mike. If I could give more than five stars, I most definitely would. They will not disappoint you! I must say, if Garrison were not there, I'd probably be more stressed about this than I am. THANK YOU Garrison!
