About 2 yrs ago I saw Shiva for a suspicious growth on my face. When I first went in the clinic, I…read moreshowed both S and her nurse the growth. she ended up playing "go fish" on it, and only commented on a skin tag I have had for yrs! (The tag was about 5 inches from the growth). When I asked her why she circled it, she said it was in case I ever wanted to have it removed!! But, at that point she hadn't even looked at the growth! This caused me to believe she was just trying to drum up business for herself. So I reported her to the medical board. A few weeks ago I saw one of their other dermatologists and there was no sign of S. This dr was the opposite of Shiva, was respectful of my needs, knowledgeable, thorough and quick. I was very impressed with her and didn't suspect she got her Dr license out of a cereal box..like S. Even her staff was friendly and upbeat. This is a good office to go to, now.

Sir or Madam, I'm…read moreafraid my experiences with Silver Falls Dermatology have lately gone from bad to much worse. I like both Sandy Hadenfeld, ARNP and Kathleen Stewart, PA-C and the treatment received. However, I am unable to schedule timely appointments with them to receive actual treament. My visit with Sandy on the 13th was a complete waste of my time and hers since, despite my revealing excisions I wanted that she could have performed that day, she did nothing at all. She was also mistaken about referring me to Rick Pitman, MD for sclerotherapy since, for whatever reason, he will no longer offer that treatment. Since nothing valuable was accomplished this week, and the Longview Clinic knew that, I received a call to schedule me for an appointment way out on November 21. That's unfair since I am living in a hotel in Kelso waiting for treatment. As a last resort, I attempted to schedule and appointment at the Chehalis Clinic, discovered that an opening is available on the 19th, but your system would not permit me to reserve it. That's not right since time is of the essence for me. I'd like an explanation from Silver Falls Dermatology and efforts on my behalf to obtain timely appointment and treatment. Thank you.

Received a voice mail at 9:13 telling me that they had canceled the appointment. I didn't find out that the appointment was cancelled until I was in the office and was told by the staff that my appointment was canceled because the referral from the VA has expired. I specifically remember at my initial appointment when Todd Williams mentioned that he wanted me back in 6 months to recheck the area on my back that he did a biopsy on, that I would probably need a new referral. He told me then that it wasn't necessary, that they would take care of that. What a colossal screw up and a waste of 2 hours of my time, not to mention the fuel expended on the 50 mile round trip.

Dr. Taylor is extremely thorough when giving an all over skin cancer check. I brought a list of a…read moredozen freckles/moles/pimples that I wanted her to look at and she methodically went through each and every one. When one looked like a pre-squamous cell, she froze it right then and there and went to the next item in my list. This way nothing was overlooked or fell through the cracks. When she was done with my list, she provided an all over check of her own, measuring, having her assistant take notes, sometimes pictures. I've spent a lot of time in the sun growing up near the Jersey Shore and as a daily lap swimmer. One tiny pink pimple turned out to be a basil cell carcinoma, confirmed through a biopsy. Since it was on my jawline, she recommended MOS surgery, where the surgeon will remove tissue around the area then before suturing runs the tissue to the lab to check for clean borders. If the borders are not clean, they remove more. This type of procedure is best for the face where you want to remove the least amount of tissue needed to achieve clean (no cancer) borders. Dr. Tayler referred me to OHSU Dermatology - Dr. Lettenberger performed the surgery and did a fantastic job. Cancer removed and 6 weeks later, scar hardly noticeable. The office is located in the third floor of Lloyd Center Mall off the foodcort area. If you come out of Macy's, make a right and her office is halfway down hall on the right. Note: OR has one of the highest rates of skin cancer in the country! Wear sunscreen everyday! Highly recommend Dr. Taylor for her knowledge, time spent with patient, explanations and extreme thoroughness in exam.
