When I asked her to dig deeper into some issues she was put out and raised her voice at me and quickly escalated the situation into asking me if I trusted her. When I said no because of the gaslighting and the aggressive behavior she told me legally she could no longer work with me. Clearly this was not her first time handling a situation like this when someone asks her to put some effort in. This was a practiced move. They take a picture of you on your first appointment, so they can refer to it later. I told her my issue was not resolved. She pulled up the picture and said it was a new issue. You can clearly see in the picture the same spots are there. She did agree at one point they were the same spots, but then doubled down it was a new issue. She held up the iPad telling me there were no spots when you can clearly see them on the picture and she had already acknowledged them. She did offer a biopsy or to have it cultured, while at the same time saying they weren't there. I'm not entirely sure how you can practice medicine that way. If you expect a dermatologist to care for their patients she's not it.

Received a voice mail at 9:13 telling me that they had canceled the appointment. I didn't find out that the appointment was cancelled until I was in the office and was told by the staff that my appointment was canceled because the referral from the VA has expired. I specifically remember at my initial appointment when Todd Williams mentioned that he wanted me back in 6 months to recheck the area on my back that he did a biopsy on, that I would probably need a new referral. He told me then that it wasn't necessary, that they would take care of that. What a colossal screw up and a waste of 2 hours of my time, not to mention the fuel expended on the 50 mile round trip.

I brought a list of a…read moredozen freckles/moles/pimples that I wanted her to look at and she methodically went through each and every one. When one looked like a pre-squamous cell, she froze it right then and there and went to the next item in my list. This way nothing was overlooked or fell through the cracks. When she was done with my list, she provided an all over check of her own, measuring, having her assistant take notes, sometimes pictures. I've spent a lot of time in the sun growing up near the Jersey Shore and as a daily lap swimmer. One tiny pink pimple turned out to be a basil cell carcinoma, confirmed through a biopsy. Since it was on my jawline, she recommended MOS surgery, where the surgeon will remove tissue around the area then before suturing runs the tissue to the lab to check for clean borders. If the borders are not clean, they remove more. This type of procedure is best for the face where you want to remove the least amount of tissue needed to achieve clean (no cancer) borders. Dr. Tayler referred me to OHSU Dermatology - Dr. Lettenberger performed the surgery and did a fantastic job. Cancer removed and 6 weeks later, scar hardly noticeable. The office is located in the third floor of Lloyd Center Mall off the foodcort area. If you come out of Macy's, make a right and her office is halfway down hall on the right. The office staff, and paperwork they sent, didn't explain this so I was a bit late for my appointment. Office itself is clean, as is the waiting room. All the people who worked there were kind and efficient. After seeing a dermatologist in Hillsboro for 18 years, I'm so happy to find a really good dermatologist closer to where I live. Since it was my first appointment, there was a three month wait. Wear sunscreen! But now that I am a patient, it will be easier to get appointments should a situation arise. Note: OR has one of the highest rates of skin cancer in the country! Wear sunscreen everyday! Highly recommend Dr. Taylor for her knowledge, time spent with patient, explanations and extreme thoroughness in exam.
