They are so easy to work with and accommodating to my parents who are in their mid nineties and are in assisted living nearby. I went there for an extraction because I cracked my tooth. My pain was pretty severe. Dr. Boyles not only is a phenomenal doctor, but he also educated me, gave me options, gave me his input but ultimately listened to what I wanted and what my concerns were. I can't speak for other dentist offices in the triangle area, but my experience from start to finish was excellent. The banter between Dr. Boyles and his assistants really help put my nerves at ease (because they could tell I was a little bit on edge lol). Thank you so much for such a great experience. Speedy help when I was in crisis! I've been a patient of this office for over 20 years and have always received great care from Dr Boyles and the entire staff. One afternoon this week, I started experiencing pain in one of my molars. It gradually got worse and kept me up all night. Dr Boyles was able to see me first thing in the morning. It turned out that, in my case, I needed to see an endodontist. Liz at the front desk was able to schedule that appointment for me and transferred all of my insurance info so that things were easy for me when I got to the endodontist ( which was a *big* help as the pain, etc, was making even simple things become tedious challenges ). Also, the endodontist was conveniently right around the corner, making things simple when I truly needed simple. After some exploration by the endodontist, it was determined that a tooth needed to be extracted. Dr Boyles was able to fit me in quickly a *second* time that day to take care of the procedure. He even gave me a call later in the evening to make sure I was recovering well. read more

I usually try to stick to local providers, but Boyles Dental is worth the drive from Durham! Having a history of $$ dental work, and experiences with other practices ranging from mediocre to outright painful - I was SO relieved when I was finally referred to Boyles Dental. They have a warm staff who make sure that you're taken care of from the moment you walk in the door. I felt that my concerns were addressed, and was well informed about what procedures were being done. (I've had "surprise" deluxe cleanings added onto my bills in the past, so now I'm that picky patient who always wants to know exactly what's being done and why!) I had a wisdom tooth that had needed removed for a while, and finally felt comfortable having it done with Dr. Boyles. He showed me x-rays, explained how the root was shaped, and promised that my case would be an easy one...just a few minutes. I was sitting in the chair waiting to see some big tooth-removing contraption closing in on me, when he told me it was out. I honestly thought he was just prepping the tooth - probably the most painless tooth removal you could have! He gave me his cell phone so I could contact him in case of emergencies, and even made a personal call to check up on me later in the evening. What a great personal touch! Having been the victim of a violent robbery with serious bodily injury, I went to Boyles Dental as one of the final steps in my healing and recovery. It should have been an easy and a positive process; my various surgeries and dental implants were already completed, and I simply needed a dentist to finish the permanent crowns. Instead, I was deeply upset and disappointed by my experience. Boyles Dental was not victim-centric, nor victim sensitive. They seemed preoccupied with money and insecure over cash flow. In fact, of all of my medical providers following my assault, Boyles was the only one who refused to honor the crime victim payment process. Only after I began seeing them for the work did this office insist I pay them directly, which I did, and which also made it much more difficult for me to obtain the proper reimbursement. I found their refusal to participate in standard protocol for a victim of crime baffling and distasteful. In general, this office was full of excuses and justifications. The problems are top down. The office communicated in a great deal of spin, shifting what it said based on what served them in that moment on any number of things including billing, policy, aesthetics, insurance reimbursement. Front desk staff seemed eager to lure in a patient, and when things didn't go as promised, would say they need to put it in front of the decision-maker (the dentist), upon which the issue was quickly scrambled into a mess. As earlier reviewers have stated, false billing/estimates is a problem. Internal office tensions and bickering was also present, the last thing anyone wants to experience while at the dentist. Perhaps the worst of all was being accused of being "too academic" while I was seated in the chair by the dentist himself, when in fact I was being a diligent patient, concerned with my healing and my health. I was sad and offended that a professional who took oaths could demonstrate that little regard and that little respect. This is a relatively new office with middle-aged staff, yet it has a distance to go to learn how to treat its patients, starting with the leader and traveling all the way down the chain. read more

Everything went fine until I checked out. The billing employee had my info wrong as to what the insurance would pay. I had to come home and email the insurance info to her so she could file it correctly (using the insurance company's codes) and so she would not think that I owed almost $200 for what is paid at 100% by my insurance. I'm already nervous at the dentist's and then to have to argue (unsuccessfully) that her info is not right, and the insurance will pay ALL of the charges, not just pay $37.50 like she showed, was extremely nerve racking and frustrating. I've had the same insurance for a couple years. How could she not know that it pays 100% for routine, preventative procedures and argue with me instead of checking previous records? I've sent her the info the insurance sent me and hope she understands it. read more

Our family has seen Dr Boyle for a couple of years now. We all agree that he is the best dentist we have ever had. He replaced an ugly old crown on my front tooth and it's just beautiful. It's a perfect match to my other teeth in shape and color - it even has tiny little lines in it like the one next to it. He has some very impressive hi-tech equipment that allows him to get superior results. No other dentist we've seen can do what he did, but having said that, the other reason we like him so much is that he doesn't go looking for expensive things to fix. This sure wasn't the case for the first two dentists we tried when we moved to Raleigh. Wow - shameless! We know that when he says we need some work done that it's for our benefit, not his. His hygienists and office staff are also excellent. We never have to wait for more than a few minutes. They take great care of us fro the minute we walk in the door. We can't say enough good things about them! read more
