My boyfriend and I were greeted and given a saw (when asked) and we ventured out into the farm looking for our beautiful tree. We walked, and walked, and walked. All of the trees were either "Charlie Brown" trees, or they were tagged for other customers. It's only December 4th. So, this farm is advertising that they have several varieties of trees (check out their website) and they had nothing left except for precut Fisher Firs, and it's barely December. We ended up taking home one of the firs because we didn't want to spend all day looking for tree farms. Very disappointing experience, but I gave 2 stars based on the staff.

These guys sell Christmas trees to all of the surrounding area of North Carolina. They seem moderately-priced and their trees are really nice. It's $10/foot for you cut trees and cash only so plan ahead. Friendly family owned operation. Better tree selection than the place in Jacksonville but if you're used to tree farms out west or on New England, don't expect that here. But for this part of the state, it's a good find! I just hate that they butcher all the trees into cones. I'd rather a natural tree that doesn't look like Edward Scissorhands had come through.

They had tables set up where we had tools to mix different dried herbs, spices, and got to pick fresh herbs from the garden. We learned the medicinal properties of each herb and how it can enhance specific dishes and recipes. The woman hosting the event blessed us with homemade jam and homemade lavender scones, as she just got back from Scotland. This was a memorable event and the garden is absolutely perfect. Definitely recommend volunteering and attending local events there.

Josh Sattin is the Farm Manager who uses a no till approach and believes in farming with minimal inputs and no herbicides or pesticides. The produce will soon be available to all community members through a farmstand starting at the end of April 2020 with produce also being donated to local non-profits who address food insecurity. Raleigh City Farm also offers great community programming, including workshops and events (they host an annual, free Bearthday event in April and annual Harvest Dinner in October). Most recently Java gave birth to adorable chocolate lab puppies. Elsa, an 11-month old white lab from Gwen and Gus' recent litter was also there with her father. Megan and Jeff own the farm and give farm tours after yoga to see the chickens and goats. Yoga is run by Victory Power Yoga. All classes are outside so dress accordingly. They provide yoga mats. I recommend bringing a towel. If you bring a water bottle or purse they have tables set up to place your items. I did not realize it at first and set my things next to the mat. The puppies loved to play with my purse and water bottle. They have an indoor bathroom and shop (Puptique). The yoga class was excellent. Appropriate for all ages and skill levels. The class was run well even with all the distracting puppies running around. Surprisingly I was still able to relax and stretch while playing with the dogs. Ample time was available before and after to play and take pictures. Parking is available on the lawn out front. There was ample spaces and room to pull in and out (plus a turn around area if needed). Overall, we had a lovely morning here. I highly recommend checking them out!
