The meals are healthy, fresh, and actually taste good--which isn't always the case with meal prep. We do pescatarian and vegetarian, and Suzy's been great about working with our preferences. Everything's high-protein, low-sodium, and there's always good variety--which is very hard to pull off when you're cooking for yourself. Free delivery on Mondays and Wednesdays within the area is another big plus--it keeps everything fresh and makes life easier. Suzy is also just the nicest. She started this after her own health journey, and you can really tell how much care she puts into the food. It's a big, well-run operation with multiple kitchens, but it still feels personal. If you're looking for easy, healthy meals that don't break the bank--this is it!!

My trainer suggested I look into a meal prep service so I could get better results and make more consistent progress. I feel like I definitely feel the difference training eating really balanced and protein heavy meals I've also been able to lose a few pounds in these 3 weeks. I am on my third set of meals, and I really love it so far. I think it is a great value for the convenience and quality and I like their selection and diversity. Their packaging is also really great, and everything is very intentional and organized. Every couple of weeks they change up the menu I appreciate being able to do swaps as well because I can't eat broccoli/cauliflower anymore Everything was really easy on the sign up and I was contacted to arrange delivery right away. Communication is consistent and great, any issues I can directly communicate with someone and it will be handled right away. I am very happy with the service, and I love supporting as local as possible! I would definitely recommend to try if you are interested in a meal prep service and are local in their service area. I think if I could offer any feedback it would be great if there were some vegetarian options or swaps available someday? My partner is vegetarian and this could have been a double client household :) but yeah understandably different target populations for different meal prep services - but just thought I would share.

The food: The meals are freshly prepared, not frozen, and ready to be reheated. Many meal delivery services are so high in sodium. Not the case with Lean Mean Meal Prep. With every delivery, a nutritional breakdown is included. Most importantly, the meals are tasty, lots of variety! 100/10 recommend!

My boyfriend and I went in thinking to ourselves, "we'll just try it for a few weeks", and we we've had our meals weekly from here for the past few months! We love it! We used to order from Freshly before and there really is no comparison. These meals taste home-cooked, while Freshly truly tasted like freezer meals. I also love the way I feel when I eat the food. The food feels fresh and wholesome in my body! I will say that the meals vary in size. We opted for the low carbohydrate 4 oz meal plan option so naturally, the meals are rather light. Some meals are a bit on the smaller side and I get hungry again in 90 minutes or so while some meals are larger and I am unable to eat it in one sitting. I do think some of the meals are lacking in salt/seasoning, but I just shake a little bit of "Everything but the Bagel Seasoning" from Trader Joe's and it does the job! The meals I enjoy most are the meals that include a sauce or meals with flavors that I know I enjoy. I do find that the meals that are simply a protein (ex: chicken) and a side of vegetables with no sauce are almost always dry. Overall, I highly recommend this service! There is such a variety in the foods week to week and day to day. The food is well cooked and tastes of quality. It feels good in my body and most importantly, I feel good knowing that I am eating good food!

First the delivery - they got our order right YaY! the food was delivered in a very timely fashion, and the delivery guy was very nice. But the important thing - the food was hot when it arrived, so we were happy about that. Pork Red Chile Tamales - The tamales passed my "fork test". I sliced the tamales in half, and it just slid right through the tamales. It was so nice. The tamales were nice n' soft, yet just a little firm. The pork was so tender, and the moment I cut into the tamales, the tender pulled pork meat was just steaming...I am getting hungry now just thinking about it now! (see photo). I took 1 bite, and first thing that comes to my mind - "home-cooked". These tamales are definitely home-cooked, and it tasted like an old family recipe. Cooked by "mama". That's my gut-feeling, and my gut is usually always right. ;) My 1 word review for this dish: BOMB. Mmm...Mmm...Yummy (Tamales)! Chicken Mole - OMG I love the Chicken Mole! Everything was so fresh that it tasted just like it was cooked right off of our own stove! :) The chicken was still hot n' steamy, and OMG I am just melting right now thinking about how tender and juicy that chicken was. It was so tender that I almost thought it was pulled chicken. It wasn't. And top that off with authentic home-made mole sauce. I could rave about the mole sauce. It was amazing! It's definitely an original "home-made" recipe with a slight chocolate taste, probably passed down from generations...because it screams of authenticity. They definitely used good ingredients because it felt healthy, not heavy like the Mexican food I'm used to. Everything was light and fresh. Now that's an oxymoron when it comes to describing Mexican food. The rice was light n' fluffy too, and I drizzled some mole sauce on top of the rice to give it a nice flavorful kick. Yum. (see photo). My 1 word review for the Chicken Mole... - "Mmmmm......." Ok, that's not a technically word, but on Yelp it counts. ;) The food has really won me over in this review plus delivery comparable to Speedy Gonzalez. I'm sold! I'd definitely like to try their other tamales as well next time - chicken green chile, traditional beef, and poblano chiles & queso fresco. I'm drooling just thinking about it. They should rename their catering to Mmm...*drool* Tamales. :D

On Sunday, July 5, at 10:55 a.m., I received a text explaining that an unexpected equipment malfunction late Saturday, July 4, had affected their production schedule. I was given the option to receive a credit toward the following week's order or a full refund. I replied that same day requesting a full refund. I followed up on Tuesday, July 7, and was told that refunds typically take three to five business days. By July 13, I still had not received the refund, so I reached out again but received no response. I followed up once more on July 14 and again received no response or refund. This is especially disappointing because I had been ordering meal-prep meals from them on and off for more than a year.
