They are very professional, courteous and fair with pricing. My Toyota Highlander needed new spark plugs and valve gasket, (it's older). Way less than the estimate from Toyota Dealer and they guarantee the work. This was last year. Today my high beams were replaced. It was the bulbs and not the relay switch as was suggested online. They were kind enough to not charge for the switch. I would highly recommend them! read more

Excellent service. Got an oil change here and it was quick, same-day service at a very reasonable price. In and out without any hassle -- efficient and professional. Definitely recommend for fast, affordable service. read more

The dealer has always changed the oil for my Ford 2018 F 250 Superduty. They did a good job but the services that came w/ an oil change at Box K Auto is reminiscent of 30 years ago. They ran a generalized diagnostic on my vehicle that was never done at the dealer w/o charging a shop fee. The front office guys don't try and talk you into a service. It was a comfortable experience and I rate them at the top 2 of repair shops I've used over the last 34 years read more

Good service AAA discount. Knowledgeable staff. Convient location Has all the necessary equipment

My first visit, a simple oil change. But I was impressed with the professionalism, cleanliness and efficiency of this place. In a little over an hour, they changed the oil, checked the fluids, and still found time to wash and vacuum the car. And as an added bonus, North Jetty Brewery is right across the street. A perfect place to wait, enjoy a cold beverage and listen to the Mariners game. It's great to have a place like Box K on the peninsula. read more

Box K Auto Repair - Auto Repair Near Me - Seaview, Washington

Box K Auto Repair is a AAA approved service provider which is why we came in to have a free winter inspection in the first place. We also requested an oil change which included an unexpected complimentary car wash and vacuum. The price was so reasonable, the service impeccable, and the staff was both friendly and professional. We appreciated being able to schedule the appointment and then get the call that the car was finished ahead of the promised time looking better than when we brought it in. We have recently moved to the Long Beach Peninsula and have found our go to location for our repairs and oil changes from now on. We are so happy that we found Box K Auto Repair. read more

They're the best! A car wash with an oil change.. awesome! Great value. A great hometown small business.

Had them replace a noisy strut on my SUV. Love that they washed and vacuumed. Zero complications and professional service. Will return here for my next service. read more

Always seem to get a good price. Very kind people that care about their work. Nice car wash and vacuum

Absolutely the worst mechanic I have ever been to in my life. They caused $4,300 in damage to my new motor and refuse to take responsibility, breaking a rocker arm bolt by overrevving my engine and flooding my motor with fuel, then tell me I need new injectors and ignore my complaint about the exhaust leak from the rocker arm bolt they broke, and also charged for full rack and pinion but only installed the steering boot, charging for work they did not do. These people are crooks. The owner, Millie, is a completely dishonest person and a crook. They don't know what they are doing beyond simple maintenance work, and even then I wouldn't trust these people, as they cause damage and then expect you to pay to fix damage due to their incompetence. Worst mechanic and worst business I have ever come across. I wish I had never taken my vehicle to these "mechanics" and am now stuck being out $4,300 and having to sue these people. Stay away from here, they are dishonest and incompetent and crooks ( it is illegal to charge for work not completed). read more

Stopped in to ask about them working on a 2004 ford excursion with some engine trouble, even though they didn't do that kinda work,it's a specialized skill that not everyone can do,they were very helpful in helping to get recommendations for places to try to get it fixed.even though they got nothing out of it they went out of their way to help me,if I lived in the area they would be my go to place! read more

So pleased with the service we received from Millie & Box K Auto - My wifes' Mercedes engine oil distress signal came on as we drove into town. I'm going 'great, where am I going to find a Mercedes shop around here?'; luckily Yelp had high rankings for Box K (well earned I'd say), so I called, they said bring it in. They admitted that if specialized Mercedes tools were required they probably wouldnt be able to help, but they'd take a look. Luckily, they were able to diagnose the leak problem (oil pan sensor and cam plug both leaking); called me back with a quote and timeframe. Price was reasonable, service was friendly and fast, They also washed and vacuumed the car (and it had alot of oil splattered on the exterior)! 20kmi/2yr warranty on the service to boot "no fine print". Many thanks to the unlucky tech who had to clean the motor to find the messy oil leak! Next time i need vehicle repair on the peninsula I'll look to Box K. read more

Great people to work with, and they stand behind their warranties. The only place on the peninsula that I will take my vehicles to.

This revised /updated review is long over due. Box K owner contacted me shortly after my initial review and explained a misunderstanding I had regarding taxes. They were great the whole time. read more

Car problems are the worst, especially when traveling but they fit us in and got our car fixed and back to us by the end of the day! The wheel bearings needed replacement before we could head out of town. It's fixed, safe to drive and clean! Can express how thankful we are read more

We took our older pick up for tune up, brake and suspension work. Our estimate and check in experience was as good as could hope for. All expectations we had were exceeded. Professional, courteous, capable, and top notch mechanical service was our summary. It was priced very competitively, delivered on time, and handled with care because of Covid-19 protocol. We HIGHLY recommend! read more

Received very good friendly service. They even picked me up from home to come get my car! Muchly appreciated

We are from Bellingham and were staying in Surfside leaving on Friday when we realized our van was broken down. We asked at the Worldmark desk where to take it and one person recommended a local shop, but another said they went there, but ended up having to take it to box K anyways so we decided to have it towed there. We arrived at around 1:30 on that Friday and it needed some major work such as both tie-rods being replaced. Millie the owner helped us out and was able to bump some jobs until Monday so we could get home! I picked up the van just before 5pm and Millie left me a message that she wouldn't leave her shop until I arrived so I wouldn't be stranded until Monday (although we do love this area a lot and they are within walking distance of downtown so it wouldn't have been too bad to have to stay the whole weekend). They also offer shuttle service to and from your hotel and will help you arrange accommodations if you need it. They even washed the outside and cleaned the interior! I wish every small town had a shop like this! Thanks for getting us home Mille! read more

Once again John & Millie amaze me with their great customer care! I've lived here for 3 years and have taken our cars since we have been in town! They really take care of their customer, concerned about their cars and are honest to a fault! Can't say enough good things about them read more

Service is outstanding and completely by highly trained professionals. Staff is friendly and efficient. Love this place.

Was just driving through the area and needed some repairs on the car. I thought I would need new front brakes and rotors. That was estimated at $800. Plus serpentine belt. All that work would easily be over $1000 anywhere I brought it. They called me back and told me a rock was caught between my pads and rotor. They removed it and it still had 40% life left so no need to replace it right now. That was very honest work right there. Took care of the belt, oils change and air filter for less than $200. I may not be back in the area, but if you are it's always good to know a local honest mechanic. read more

The only mechanics I'll let put a wrench on my car on the peninsula! Every time they've worked on my car it's been done the same day!

I am very impressed with the service I received at Box K Auto Repair. From start to finish they kept me informed of what was going on with my car. My car is fixed, and working well! The cost of the service also seemed fair. I was also happy to pick up a freshly cleaned car! Thanks Box K!! read more

Our alternator died while camping near Long Beach (the night before we had to return home 150 miles away) so I brought our truck to Box K, as they could look at it right away and were the only AAA approved garage in the county (meaning we'd get a 10% discount on labor). When Dan called back with the estimate of $633.45 for the replacement of the alternator and wiring, we were shocked at the cost but also knew we had no choice - getting home was the priority. He told us that not only was the alternator fried, but the wiring from the unit to the battery had grounded and needed replacement. The implication here was that the grounded wiring was what the major issue was. It appears mentioning to him that we were from out of town and stranded was our mistake. When we were given the itemized receipt, we saw that we had been charged $293.69 for the alternator, alone. Back at the campsite I looked under the hood and saw that it was a Napa brand alternator, so I called the Napa Auto Parts store that is literally across the street from the garage, and asked how much this specific part cost, in-store. They told me "$160". Looking online, they are easily obtained for between $80-$120. The wiring kit that needed replacement? $9.85. The total labor? 249.48. $250 dollars labor to replace an alternator we were overcharged $140 for, and replacement of a $10 wiring kit. To be clear, according to their own notes, I OK'd the repair at 2:49 PM, and when I picked up the truck at 4:45, the work was already done, meaning this was $250 for much less than 2 hours of work. While Box K may be great if you're a local, if you're from out of town and are in a vulnerable position, they will clearly not hesitate to exploit your situation for as much money as they can wring out of you. Never again. read more

My husband didn't have time to repair our truck before a trip. He ran it down to Box K. The repair ended up more in depth than we anticipated. The crew worked very hard to not break a stuck part. It saved us $600. They vacuumed and washed the truck. It was ready for our trip. Thank you for working hard to not cost us more $. My husband normally fixes everything himself. We will be back! read more

Living on the Peninsula 17+ years, it blows me away that all the mechanic and/or tire shops are ALL closed on Saturday. Thuis is the only day I have available to address such problems. Not only are they closed on weekends, but during the work week they open 8/9 to 5PM. The typical working mans schedule. I find myself every time in need of a mechanic or tire store going to Astoria. I will now go to Astoria even if during the 9 to 5 these businesses keep. They're no help to me so why support them! Plus cheaper across river too boot. Thank businesses like yours for people NOT shopping locally, they can't! read more

My truck needed work to take on a trip. John worked the schedule to get it fixed ahead of time. Excellent work and customer service!

I've been looking for a good mechanic shop in my local area. I've grown very tired of the shady dealings of the local car dealership and am happy to say Box K was a breath of fresh air. Their prices were reasonable and fair and their manager, Millie, kept me informed and educated throughout the process. All my vehicles are going to Box K in the future. Would definitely recommend. read more

I would highly recommend this repair shop. The customer service out here is outstanding. They are really committed to making sure that your vehicle gets repaired correctly. .I really appreciate that make you feel at home when explaining all your concerns about your repair or maintenance. I usually leave a repair shop feeling uneasy and pretty confused. Not here! I wouldn't go anywhere else. Keep up the good work! read more

On way to camping trip, noticed burning smell and fluid leak on underside of my AWD SUV. Prior to return, asked at parts store who was a good mechanic and referred to Box K. Got me right in, even tho busy. My mechanic explained what was going on, a slow leak at a seal, topped fluid off and said should be good for return trip. And we were. Appreciated the prompt service and consideration for travelers in some distress. read more

Wonderful service!!! My car broke down while of town and they were so helpful. Excellent customer service!

Box K is hands down the best shop I have ever had the pleasure of using. I recently had a bearing go out on my boat trailer on a Sunday afternoon when everything was closed. Luckily I was able to leave my trailer at Box K where they worked their tails off to get me a new axle and back on the road by the next weekend. Millie went out of her way to locate the axle and had someone drive to Wilsonville to pick it up. If this were any other shop I would have been broke down for months. The bearings sealed so bad they welded together. I can't say enough about Box K auto!!! These people are amazing!! Please take my review seriously, and trust this shop! read more

Our car broke down right outside the shop yesterday, around 2:15 PM, as we were getting ready to drive 3 hours home. We were informed by the man at reception that they were scheduled at least 1 week out, no exceptions. Nothing he could do. After pressing him, we asked if they could at least check the battery. Someone, I assume a mechanic, came out - connected jumper cables - car started up, then died. Said it was likely the alternator. Told us nothing they could do but recommended repair shop R&M Autor and RV Service 6 blocks up the road. When attempted to start car again, we couldn't. Same person came up to help jump start - except he connected the cables wrong, which led to serious sparks flying - and the entire display of the car dying. Now the car was officially dead. He said oops, corrected the cables, and tried again - to no avail (we later found out that he had actually blown the fuse completely, which led to the R&M's owner having to rebuild the fuse and replacing the alternator). Seriously, a mechanic incorrectly connects the jump start cables??? In the future, a little more kindness, compassion, and help problem-solving for those of us stranded far away from home would be greatly appreciated. Needless to say, I will not frequent this shop again, ever. Today, I purchased a new fuse from Honda - for $12. read more

Would highly recommend Box K! We visited Long Beach and like many tourists got our car stuck in the beach sand. After we were towed out the car rattled as if the tires were going to come off! We thought perhaps it was in need of an alignment or worse - and of course it was a Sunday. We called Box K and on Monday AM showed up at 8. They got us in, cleaned out the car (too much sand in the wheels was all!) and sent us on our way. Great service, friendly, accomodating and home town feel. They were great! Not to mention their shop, surrounding area at the shop and waiting room was clean and not your typical 'repair shop'. Give them a try if ever in need of auto repair in Long Beach. read more

Recently while visiting the beach my alternator went south. The tow truck driver suggested Box K. He said that they are not the cheapest, but the work will be done right. They are super nice and seem very knowledgeable. Knowing we were stranded, they worked very hard to get us squeezed in on a very busy day. Unfortunately the new alternator went out after about 30 miles. The true test of of real customer service is how a business handles a problem and Box K came through with flying colors! They worked very hard at no small expense to own the problem and get us on the road again. I highly recommend them for any auto repair work. Millie was amazingly sweet and helpful. read more

Over the years I have used yelp for checking if a business is good or bad. I never really written many good ones but if it is bad I do. Well today I want to give Box K Auto Repair a excellent rating. When I stopped by on Wednesday the service technicians said he would work me in on Friday. I had a squeaky belt and I could not find the problem. In just over two hours they had replaced the belt and the bad tensioner, and truck is good to go. read more

My van overheated and I had it towed to Box K for diagnostics. Not really sure what the problem was, but felt comfortable with Box K for this process. Doug called me and indicated that I had a bad water pump (leaking thru weep holes) and quoted me $1500 for water pump and timing belt. He also said that some mice/rats had been nesting in the engine compartment and that the plug wires were looking sketchy. He quoted $500. for replacing plug wires and spark plugs.. I knew it was an expensive job as you have to remove the plenum to get to one of the plugs. Oh yeah, he did say that the #7 plug was fouled or wasn't functioning properly.. I said, "It's a 6 cylinder" He mentioned that he was referring to a different vehicle and then said it was the #5 plug.. Hmmmmm.... I authorized the $1500 for the water pump and timing belt.. Told him to forget about the wires and plugs. Before it overheated it was running fine.. The point is coming...... I got a call later on in the day and Doug said that he had some not so good news.. He said they completed replacing the water pump and timing belt and when they went to test drive and bring it up to operating temps.. it was blowing white smoke out of the exhaust and it over heated!!!. He said he believe that the head gasket is gone and for another $1700 he could replace the head gasket.. I asked him about his diagnostic process and he said with a leaking water pump he couldn't complete the diagnostic process so the pump had to be replaced. Did you check for exhaust gases in the coolant before you changed out the water pump? The old water pump looked really good to me without any noticeable impeller or bearing damage.. Doug said the bearings sounded bad.. I disagreed with him.. The old timing belt looked brand new.. He said "Yeah they might look new but they will go without any warning." I was hot.. This was a total failed diagnostic process. $1500 for work that didn't fix anything! My wife wanted to take them to small claims court.. I would not recommend this shop to anyone.. Take it to Sparks just down the road.. read more

I was in search of a local auto repair not only for convenience but to contribute to the local economy. I was happy to find Box K online, with a generous coupon. I called for a quote and was greeted by friendly and knowledgeable Millie. She took my details, and promised to get back to me right away with a quote. Their price was the best of the quotes I received, even with sales tax that I wouldn't have to pay if I crossed the river over to Oregon. They ordered the part and called me the next day, offering to take me home while my car was being repaired, and picking me back up when repairs were completed. I elected to wait in the lobby with free Wi-Fi. Free vacuum and wash is included with their service repair. Competitive prices and free estimates. Plus they give your vehicle a thorough go over for follow up later. It just doesn't get better than this locally or out of the area! I highly recommend this business and will be using them again in the future! read more
