We had Box Appliance out to repair a burner on our 22 year old range. They gave us an estimate of over $1,100.00 and asked for a $350.00 deposit to order parts, which we paid. The very next day we decided not to go through with the repair and go with a new range. I immediately canceled the order and asked for my deposit back less the service charge for coming out. I was told I would get a call back quickly, but no call came. I called two more times and was told the same thing but still no call. Do not trust these guys. If Box Appliance would contact me regarding Invoice# i102811_13087 and properly handle this, I would be willing to retract this review. read more

Box Appliance's technician Tony is an incredible professional who has always gone above and beyond to help repair our appliances. We have been very grateful for his service over the last couple years in keeping our Wolf and Subzero appliances in pristine condition. Tony never shies away from tough work -- I have had multiple other service repairs for my dishwasher and laundry machines, and those companies will try to avoid certain fixes that are too involved / take too long so they try shortcuts first, which ultimately ends up which needing to book multiple followup appointment after waiting for parts etc. Tony always invests in the proper fix the first time, no matter how long it takes and we and our Wolf/Subzero appliances are running wonderfully now. We initially were directed to Box Appliance by Wolf to take a look as our microwave and warming drawer. Both were relatively new and still under warranty, but we were having multiple issues which we later learned was due to poor original installation. Box Appliance was super prompt in setting up our appointments, and I appreciated all the digital trails of appointment confirmations and text messages with updated ETAs. Box Appliance's customer center also helped us to extend our warranties with Wolf/Subzero which I had not known was an option -- but as the preferred partners, they assured us Wolf/Subzero would be super accommodating and they were right! We managed to continually extend our warranty coverage due to the recurring issue, which was a breeze and just gave us extra peace of mind. Tony has made multiple visits to troubleshoot the various issues of our Wolf appliances. He was always right on time -- the only time he was maybe 15 minutes late, he called to give me an hour in advance to let me know! Our Wolf appliance issues were wide-varying and unique, so it took several visits to finally diagnose the issue, but he persevered and finally fixed it! Tony also offered to take a quick look at our SubZero fridge since he was already there, and while we didn't have any known issues -- it was super helpful getting maintenance tips from him to ensure we kept it that way! Honest review, we've used box Appliance many times due to our high-end appliances. They're one of the few companies locally that are certified to service them. Usually we are very pleased with the service and the nice people that come over. However, they missed the mark on the last visit. First off, you never know when they're going to come over until the night before. So there's no way for you to juggle your work schedule, picking up kids etc. You have to sit tight and wait for the text to come in the evening before and then you just hope it works out with your schedule tomorrow. Puts a lot of customers in a bind. In our case Tech was supposed to show up between 8:00 and 9:00 and they showed up at 7:45. Mornings are usually a little hectic with kids and all so would have preferred to stick to the timeline. We paid a lot of money to have them clean both of our refrigerator and freezer compressors. However, when the job was completed I noticed the compressor grills were filthy. Has Grime and Gunk all over them. Keep in mind when it was assessed that we needed a compressor service they diagnosed that due to the dirty grills. A dirty grills means dirty compressor apparently. So they left us with filthy grills even though the compressor directly behind the grill was serviced. The air gets sucked through the grill into the compressor so if you have dirty grills there's a chance all that Grime will just go right back into the freshly serviced compressor. Also just common courtesy, you would think they would take the additional 5 minutes and clean the grill to make it look like the job has been completed. It was hard to tell if they even did the compressor service due to the dirty grills. I reached out to the company and I was told do it myself or hire a company to do it. So that was nox appliances response and it was not the one I was hoping for. So that compelled me to write this review. I hope in the future box Appliance will take this into consideration. read more

We contacted Box Appliance when notified by Wolf that there was a recall on a component of our range. Their technician Kenyon arrived on time, was knowledgeable about the work he was going to do, offered and provided me with an overview of the project, finished in a reasonable amount of time, was respectful of our home, put down protective covers on our kitchen island (many other contractors and service techs just use it as their workbench), cleaned up after himself, and even took a few minutes to explain some of the functionality of our range that I wasn't aware of. I believe there is probably a high bar to be a certified Wolf / Subzero service provider, and Kenyon and Box Appliance sail well over that bar. Extremely Disappointing Service - Would Not Recommend Our freezer stopped working after an electrical outage due to the fires. This company charged $280 just to diagnose the problem. The first technician claimed the control board was bad and needed replacement. We paid $740, and he assured us it was fixed. It wasn't. Two days later, all our food had to be thrown away. It then took them two weeks to send another technician, who said a different part was the issue. He promised they would rush-order the part and only charge us for it, waiving labor since we had already paid. A few days later, I called to confirm the order--only to find out they hadn't even placed it. Instead, they suddenly demanded another $450 in labor for a $75 part. Reluctantly, we approved the charge just to get the freezer working again. It then took another two weeks to receive the part, and now they're telling us there are no appointments available for yet another two weeks. Meanwhile, our freezer is still not working. This experience has been incredibly frustrating--poor service, misleading pricing, and a total lack of urgency or accountability. Would not recommend this company to anyone. read more

Jacqeline, your technician, was extraordinary! She really knew her stuff! We had a clogged condensate drain in our SubZero side-by-side refrigerator.. I am a retired engineer and thought I could tackle the repair myself. I did my research on-line and watch a half dozen videos of a very complicated disassembly procedure just to get to the drain. The technicians in the videos all removed the shelves and took about the back panel to expose the drain. But, instead, my wife convinced me to call Box Appliance and have it done by the professionals. Jacquline came in with her portable, battery-powered air compressor and air hose. She removed only the bottom crisper drawers, and then educated me on how to use her procedure that she had developed. She showed me the drain hole on her phone camera through the louvers on the bottom, back grill (that she did NOT have to remove). She carefully inserted the nozzle of the air hose into the drain hole through grill and then blew out the plugging debris in the condensate drain line. She then removed the kick plate and carefully took out the condensate drain pan under the refrigerator, emptied it, and then cleaned it in my sink. She showed me the plug as "victory token" of success! The whole procedure took about five minutes! In contrast the videos took over an hour!!! This was the best service call I have ever had on any major appliance. She then poured hydrogen peroxide down the drain hole to clean it out and to verify good flow in the drain by checking that the peroxide had drained to the drain basin. I kidded her that what she did in five minutes I could have done in five hours half as well!!! Jacquline IS A REAL PROFESSIONAL!!!! Her personally developed procedure was elegantly simple and extremely effective, and she was happy to train me in how to use it to satisfy my do-it-myself inclination! I used to run an engineering organization in a high-tech defense and aerospace firm. I had 135 engineers and technicians reporting to me in five sections. I would have hired Jacquline in a heartbeat for her innovation and customer service focus. She made sure I was satisfied before she left - the epitome of quality - customer satisfaction. She was very friendly and accommodating to schedule the service to my availability. I was quoted a window service time of 9:30-12:30. The technician, Steven showed up to my surprise at 9:30am.
