The girl at the desk never provided any information about anything. I did not know I needed quarters for the locker rental, nor did I not know I couldn't wear a baseball cap or have a crossbody bag. As soon as I got on the rink, the attendant told me I had to get off because of my hat. I wasn't upset or anything, I quietly skated off, returned my skates and gathered my belongings. As I was exiting I observed men on the skating rink with beanies on their heads and skull caps. Additionally I observed adults walking on the rink as they were helping their children. I did not know that the rink was also a track. I would think that's a bigger safety hazard than wearing a hat. When I went to the front to inquire about a refund there was a gentleman in front of me who had on a hat and I was tempted to say something to him but I also wanted to see if the clerk would remind him of the hat policy, but she didn't. I don't know if the assumption is that everyone who visits are regulars and know the protocol, but it wouldn't hurt to have signage at the front desk and to also remind the attendants to say something to the patrons.

They had a walking track above looking down on the rink. The prices were affordable ($5 for students) and the staff was very nice! There were tons of booths. We threw all of our belongings in one and it was the kids home base. Their rentals had skates or rollerblades. Even the arcade games were reasonably priced!

This review is for the childcare/day care. What can I say. This is an exceptional day care! We had…read moreused a well known day care chain, that was supposed to be excellent in Bay ridge, but it was not. It had inconsistent staff , no activities , few toys , nothing on the walls, absolutely not stimulating in any way. So we decided to look for a change. The Staten Island JCC on Manor road has been amazing. Great security, a consistent and caring staff. An inviting room which designates play area with lots of appropriate toys . A nice outdoor play area. This day care is really everything you want for your child and you can leave them there with confidence. They really love and care about your child. My son was 7 months old when we started here. The only negative is that the infant day care is on the lower floor and there is no elevator. ( actually there is an elevator, that allows you to take a long way there, but it seems to be often in disrepair!! ) other than that , this is a perfect day care. Yes it is closed on several Jewish holidays, which coincides with the public school holidays most of the time. Don't hesitate to use this place for day care, they really care about your child. I would give it 10 stars if I could.

I wanted to speak to Lisa in membership about my account and Lisa was not in. Fran was on her phone texting and ignoring me. I was very polite until I had to get her attention because she was busy on her personal phone. Yes, I was frustrated and upset and she should have noticed this but instead she told me to shut my mouth. She was incredibly rude and continued to ignore me as I tried to get information on when Lisa would be in. I cannot express enough how upset I am. I tried to call to report her behavior but no one seems to be able to take my complaint. I choose to stay anonymous in this complaint otherwise.

They are always nice at the desk welcoming you with a hello and saying goodbye when leaving. The cleaning crew are always cleaning and the place is spotless. You always have cleaning wipes to clean down machines. There is rarely dust anywhere and the bathrooms are always clean. There is a large parking lot but it does get filled up quickly so give yourself ample time to look for a spot. There is brand new equipment as of the beginning of 2025 so you are basically working on everything New. The price of this gym is expensive. if you just use the gym area you are paying for the whole gym. Pool, and other amenities and such. This is though I think the best gym so far I would say on the island for the money. Nice people working here , nice clientele, clean atmosphere. It does get crowded at times but tell me what gym doesn't.

Even a YMCA staff escorted those maintenance workers into the women's locker room and shower room the Y staffs would not make sure everyone aware of it. I personally don't feel secure in this environment. I understand things broken and need repairing. It's impossible to closed down the entire locker room for just maintenance purposes. But the management should do a better job on this. I don't blame those maintenance workers. It is 100% responsibility of the YMCA management to pretect their members. They should have trained their staffs better to make sure everyone aware of the situation. No one wants to experience surprises like this. ***Updates: Thanks for writing back. Here is more information about both incidents as requested. Look forward to seeing any improvement. The first incident happened sometime last year. Once I walked out of the shower room I heard some men talking in the sauna room. I quickly ran back in the shower room and told the cleaning lady what happened. Then she talked to the YMCA female staff who accompanied the maintenance workers. She then walked them outside and asked me to finish changing in one of the stalls in the locker area so the workers can continue the repairing. I was not notified by any staffs about the situation when I was in the shower. The second incident just happened couple weeks ago 9/26. When I entered the shower room from the pool I saw a YMCA female staff standing in the hallway and sipping ice coffee. I saw one of the shower stalls occupied at that time. As soon as I entered one of the shower stalls I heard a man voice. He was supposed to check which showers were broken. I was not being notified when I walked in the shower room even the staff saw me.
