I got quotes from a few places, and affordable masonry was not just the most reasonable but also clearly an honest company. They were clear, candid, and communicative through the whole process. Explained clearly what the problem was and options for fixing it. Clearly laid out the price and timeline. Had the right tools for the job and didn't cut corners: he rebuilt the whole top of my chimney, and brought in scaffolding and everything to do it. The price was right. In the end, the results of the job are awesome.

But when I looked up the license I found out it was bogus and the company is actually under his wife's name. This was too shady for me and I canceled the contract.

Mark…read morecame this morning (right on time - the hour we were given, not a window) and told us our concrete was in good shape and all we need is a little masonry work that can wait until Spring. Since we know nothing about concrete, he could have told us anything. We are very grateful for his honest assessment and kind manor. BTW - I never written a Yelp review before, but Mark and this company earned one for sure.

I saw them work in the neighborhood and this is how I hired them. Unfortunately I didn't talk to the neighbor before I hired them... The concrete work itself is not so. bad. However there are other issues (1) They took a 5,000 deposit; cashed the check in a day and took 8-10 to start the job--. Every time I called the office the staff acted like they never heard of us-- (2). They waited for months before they even begin asking for permits. They seemed to have problems paying the permits and the township and county tried repeatedly to reach them before they reached us to clarify. His staff lied repeatedly about having sent out permit requests only to tell us later they didn't... (3). They damaged our property: The landscaping was severely and carelessly damaged because they didn't have the correct size escalator for my front corridor-- they have been completely disrespectful about this and said ``damage was in the contract". (4). Still getting an estimate on the landscaping but the owner of able showed up at my door today claiming that full payment was 18 days overdue (the job is finished 10 days ago! and we haven't driven on the concrete yet!!). This guy is certainly not a professional-- just this behavior tells me he is never parting in good terms with his clients.. I wish I had done some research before--just reading the reviews here would be helpful...
