I don't think she likes her job. Unfortunately, she is the one who prints visit summaries. So if you need your visit summary, you'll have to be subject to her unpleasant attitude.

The parking lot was quite full due to a big event in the exhibition hall but at least there was no charge for parking. After finally figuring out where this event was being held we made our way into the bleachers (I know why people brought their own chairs). Not being fans it took us awhile to figure out the flow of the match and some of the rules (thanks to nearby fans who filled in the blanks). Unfortunately the PA system was so poor it was almost impossible to follow any helpful information they might have been announcing. The match last almost two hours which was pretty long and a bit repetitive- one half would have been enough. Some good action at times but a bit slow. Interesting enough to go once but I won't be rushing back.

There was a little rain but that didn't stop us from having fun at the Quack of a Bat! A Mallards game is must-do summer activity especially for anyone exploring Madison. Not only is it great for community spirit it's also great entertainment. The quack is back with summer fun for the whole family. Some of the Highlights of the night: Star Wars characters you find roaming around the park. Delicious ballpark food and locally brewed beers. The mallards taking home the win. My personal favorite Maverick, the Madison Mallards' superstar bat dog.

There were a few activities for kids, and overall it made for a nice couple of hours. One tip: the seating is extremely uncomfortable. I wish I'd known to bring a seat cushion or foam pad.

What does it take to just set up two courts?! They have a really cool tiki bar outside with a firepit and patio furniture, but it's not in use. There's even an outdoor stage for live music but I've never seen a band there. There's a kitchen and dining area but the set-up is reminiscent of a elementary school cafeteria. Kids eat free with a purchase of an adult meal. If they just get better tables, some high-tops, and offer quality menu items other than just your typical concession stand food, more families would opt to make this their dinner destination instead of a last-minute emergency/as-needed joint. They have $10 pitchers on Tuesday nights, but a couple weeks ago, all their taps were Oktoberfests! *grrr* Again, offer some better options like some Lagunitas IPA and you'd have a line at the register. Other than that it is a fun place to see sports especially given the bargain prices for the volleyball tickets.

The facility itself is great. Lots of space. A gymnasium, meeting rooms, a gym, a couple craft rooms, and plenty more I haven't seen yet I'm sure. It's kept clean and is pretty nice. All the staff I've interacted with thus far has been great, super friendly. The class I'm taking is awesome. It's pottery 1 so pretty basic but I am definitely enjoying it and learning a lot! The instructor Todd is fantastic and really great with everyone in our class. Overall, I'm a fan!

I've been to the Duck Pond a handful of times for Mallards games and it's a great time! The actual…read moreamount of baseball I've watched has been minimal (prior to the Duck Blind's renovation, the area barely even faced the field), but we generally seem to do well as a team. There's lots of entertainment in both the concourse area and during/after the game. There are tons of contests, challenges for prizes, and random entertainment like 80s cover bands and appearances by C-list celebrities. Your best bets for a fun night out is to go with either a family pack special or a Duck Blind ticket. The family-pack style tickets usually get you a reserved seat, a soda, a food item, and sometimes a promo item like a hat. It usually ends up being about $10-$15/person. The Duck Blind is the true draw, though. True, $40 sounds like a lot for a minor league ball ticket, but you get unlimited food and drinks (including a wide range of beer) through the seventh inning. If it's been a few years since your last Duck Blind experience, they've drastically improved seating and have expanded the food menu and setup. Stations are broken out around the ground floor to break up the lines, and many sides are now self-serve. There are several soda fountains throughout the space (including up in the grandstand), and you have your pick of 25+ beers. It's not just cheap-o lawnmower beers, either; there are IPAs, ciders, Great Dane brews, and more. Food choices now include things like BBQ pork, smoked chicken, and boneless wings in addition to your standard burger/brat/hot dog selection. Lines moved very quickly when we went and we were able to find seating upstairs. The sun gets a little hot, but it was nice to have a place to sit considering the length of most baseball games. Other ballpark fun to note: don't miss Maynard Mallard zip lining in to start the game, and cheer for at least five runs scored by the home team so you can trade in your ticket for a free scoop of Culver's custard.
