The stage is impressive and can host full scale shows with hundreds in attendance. Attendees can choose to stand on the ground level, or go up to the balcony for a view of the entire venue. The coolest part about this place is that they bring in national acts - for free. Props to the Wisconsin Union Directorate for making these events happen. The Sett also features a bowling alley, rock climbing wall, billiards, and plenty of seating, and the rest of the Union has a lot to offer too. I'm beyond impressed and I left feeling a little mopey that my Union wasn't as cool back when I was in school. Wonderful facility, highly recommend.

They made sure our special day went smooth, they coordinated with the vendors and were there if anything went wrong. Aside from the wonderful coordinators at The Oaks, the venue itself is great! The tent is spacious enough yet still feels cozy and has a great relaxed atmosphere. Bathrooms are located inside the clubhouse, but not too far of a walk from the venue space. I would 100% recommend The Oaks as a place to have your wedding.

They did have regular concessions & they were selling a single tender for $6 + tax/fees. Also the other food portions//price were horrible. Not sure if that was also on the event end but definitely robbery. A few seating options also up to the event I guess. They had the stands near the concessions open otherwise maybe 10 black tables/chairs on the field in the direct sun. Again nice field for events/smaller concerts. Street parking or ramps nearby so that wasn't an issue.

My 2.5yo daughter and her friends just couldn't get enough of it. Lots of opportunities for kids to learn while playing. The staff are incredibly friendly and I believe all, if not most, are volunteers. There's a pay-what-you-can food area, which is so thoughtful. Very bright interior with plenty of natural light. Clean and updated play spaces for such a big facility to keep up with! Very clean restrooms. Small area for parents who have babies to sit in to play while their older kids explore. We've been to other children's museums and this is one of my favorites. The cost for anyone over the age of 1yo is currently $18 each (or 10% online) but if you're planning on spending a day here, totally worth it. I do think it would be a little more reasonable for ages 1-8 to be a little less than a full adult ticket price but it is what it is. If you live within an hour or have a larger family, it's definitely worth it to get a season pass' some include guest passes for friends. It's a worthy investment or a great gift! There's nothing more heartwarming seeing your child smile nonstop and exploring while in a learning environment. Stop on by, you'll love it and sleep well afterwards! One staff member said they're expanding so we're looking forward to that in the future.

However, the menu did have a variety of "upscale" bar food! We ordered a fair amount but I only remember eating the curds (3/5) and fried green beans (5/5), which was my fave! PROS: I loved that we were able to try a variety of activities at our own pace! Each area had seating, enough for 6-7 people (sofas or bar stool/counter). Alcohol wipes were available. Music level was good and lighting slightly dimmed--great ambience! We got to chat with Collin (the owner) about his vision and learned that the simulators can pretty much play anything! This means events held here can be both adult AND kid-friendly--woo hoo! Just try not to bring a stroller here, as it's on the second floor with steep steps. Looking forward to more events here...and to what becomes of the outdoor space! CONS: We came on a Tuesday, so there was only one person working the bar + kitchen. Service was a slow as it got busy, and later into the night. There are only two private restrooms (which were nice and clean!). I'm used to ice rinks and am not one to get cold, but it's -6° with a -16° wind chill with no heat. It has been this way all weekend. You would think that with the 1000s in tournament fees the collected they would turn on the heat.

I've been playing hockey for over 40 years now. (you'd think I would be better after all of those…read moreyears) Over those years I have been in a lot of ice rinks both as a player, coach and fan. As far as local ice rinks or amateur ice rinks, the Sun Prairie Ice Arena is by far and away the best ice rink I have ever been in! We were in town watch my nephew who had a tournament here. My first impression as we arrived at the arena was how nice it looked from the outside. The next thing I said is they have a restaurant?!?! There is a restaurant attached to the arena. What a great idea! As we walked into the arena there is a separate door that leads to the locker rooms. The inside of the arena doesn't disappoint. It is bright and well laid out. There are a couple of TV's, a little pro shop and a snack shop. The area that I really liked is what they called the players lounge. This was in a corner by the windows that had a very comfortable leather sectional. If I could have watched the game from here I probably would have. There are two rinks inside and they are easy to see and marked clearly. The rinks are bright and well lit which is great for the fans and the players. These are also some of the cleanest stands I have seen. We've been to plenty of arena's where there is food and garbage around the stands. These stands were clean and there was some nice heat coming from above that kept the fans plenty warm. There is lots of parking outside as well as stairs and a ramp for handicap or players that roll their bags. As a fan I was unable to get on the ice or locker rooms however my nephew tells me the ice was good as well as the locker rooms. If we lived in the area I would love to come here to skate and hopefully we can come back again. No question the best rink I have ever seen!

My sister visited and forgot socks and they had loaners (I can't comment on how clean they were, but at least they exist). Public skating was only $3 and rental only $2. The stands are nice, though some of the wood boards need to be replaced. They have a good selection of classes and a nice waiting area for parents. As is typical for ice arenas, there seems to be more emphasis on hockey than figure skating. Not sure if it's the money it brings in or if it's a guy thing, but this seems to be universal among skating rinks.
