As a person who doesn't like "people" or "going out." This place was wonderful! I forgot to make a review when we sent for the game but I need to make one now. We had great seats for the game, but it's easy to see how many seat in this smaller stadium would be wonderful! It was a great night! Parking: The parking is fairly easy, even if you're a bad parker like I am. We got there semi early and still had a spot that wasn't very far from the entrance. I've never been to a baseball game and this stadium made me feel like I was living in a movie. The music. The food. It was great. The staff in every area were wonderful. I was super thankful for all the people who knew how things worked! Bathrooms:The bathrooms were okay, there were a large amount of them. But they weren't very clean. Food: The food was pretty decent when I finally had my burger, beer and nachos. There were a nice amount of places to get food so the lines weren't very long. For someone learning the game, I had a wonderful time learning the game in this small easy going stadium. The crowd was very low key. So I had a good time hearing my fiancé when things were going on. I've been to the Duck Pond a handful of times for Mallards games and it's a great time! The actual amount of baseball I've watched has been minimal (prior to the Duck Blind's renovation, the area barely even faced the field), but we generally seem to do well as a team. There's lots of entertainment in both the concourse area and during/after the game. There are tons of contests, challenges for prizes, and random entertainment like 80s cover bands and appearances by C-list celebrities. Your best bets for a fun night out is to go with either a family pack special or a Duck Blind ticket. The family-pack style tickets usually get you a reserved seat, a soda, a food item, and sometimes a promo item like a hat. It usually ends up being about $10-$15/person. The Duck Blind is the true draw, though. True, $40 sounds like a lot for a minor league ball ticket, but you get unlimited food and drinks (including a wide range of beer) through the seventh inning. If it's been a few years since your last Duck Blind experience, they've drastically improved seating and have expanded the food menu and setup. Stations are broken out around the ground floor to break up the lines, and many sides are now self-serve. There are several soda fountains throughout the space (including up in the grandstand), and you have your pick of 25+ beers. It's not just cheap-o lawnmower beers, either; there are IPAs, ciders, Great Dane brews, and more. Food choices now include things like BBQ pork, smoked chicken, and boneless wings in addition to your standard burger/brat/hot dog selection. Lines moved very quickly when we went and we were able to find seating upstairs. The sun gets a little hot, but it was nice to have a place to sit considering the length of most baseball games. Other ballpark fun to note: don't miss Maynard Mallard zip lining in to start the game, and cheer for at least five runs scored by the home team so you can trade in your ticket for a free scoop of Culver's custard. read more

The Duck Pond is one of the hidden Gems of Baseball. I played at the Duck Pond (formerly Warner Park) back in the 80's. Back then, it was your typical run down Minor League Park. It was nothing but a Grandstand and a plain Outfield wall. But times have changed. Baseball fans demand more than just a playing field and seats. The renovations that have been done are nothing short of amazing. The Duck Pond is now a state of the art Minor League Stadium that could easily accommodate a Double A team. One of the beautiful things about Minor League Baseball is how affordable it is. Tickets for Madison Mallards games start at $8. You can't buy a bag of peanuts at Wrigley Field for 8 bucks. The City of Madison has done a wonderful job modernizing the Duck Pond. The Stadium features a full Video-Scoreboard, a grass berm for seating past the left field wall, plenty of concession stands and bathrooms. It has just about everything a Baseball fanatic could want. Here's the bottom line: If you're a baseball junkie like me, you need to make a trip to the Duckpond. Its affordable fun for the entire family. read more

Prices for tickets, beer and food all went up again this summer. Unlike professional baseball, including Beloit and Appleton AAA teams, the Mallards do not pay the players. They should put those cost savings into ticket, beer and food costs. if were not going to have a professional team, let's at least make the prices reasonable. I was at the game on 6/1/17, and there were double digits in errors, although many were not counted. Sometimes balls were overthrown two times in the same play, and once it happened in between hitters as infield tossed the ball around. This is entertaining in a Bad-News-Bears kind of way, but not in a 'Baseball like it outta be' kind of way. Not a high level of play, and the team switches every year, so it's hard to get too invested. There are festivals and free music options virtually every night of Summer across Madison, and we do not have to pay $6.50 for a beer or $7 for a shot glass of wine. Or even buy a ticket. The smartest thing management could do is shave 50 cents off all the prices, and hold it there next year. read more

This is a fun place in Madison to come hang out especially on Fridays or weekends. Was pretty packed this past Friday when I went and at first was kind of too much craziness. Luckily we had reserved seats and people seemed to settle down after the first couple innings as lines for beer and food shortened considerably. Love the beer that they have here. Lots of Great Dane brews and more common craft brews. Food is pretty good with burgers, brats, pulled pork, chicken, fries, slaw, potato salad all available. Would recommend paying the $5 for the reserved seating in advance though the only drawback is that this is not like a picnic table so it is a bit hard to have a group there in reserved seats and all be comingling unless you are getting up a lot. Regardless, this is still a fun time and it shows by how packed it gets. read more

Baseball lover or not, the duck pond is a must for Madison summers. The atmosphere is amazing, the Mallards really aren't bad, and food and beer are VERY reasonably priced. The entertainment between innings will keep non-sports fans entertained, and if nothing else waiting for the "batter of the day" to get a hit so that two for one beers are on sale will keep you on the edge of your seat. Tickets are extremely reasonable, and bathrooms were maintained throughout the game. Not a lot of parking on site, but the strip mall across the road has lots of spaces. We just did regular seats and had a blast, can't wait to try the duck blind (all you can eat and drink) next summer! read more
