There are plenty of tee boxes and I would suggest you play from the yardage that is within your abilities. Get your sand game in order because even the better golfers may find a couple of traps. It was good to see Rangers patrolling the course and making sure their presence was known when they drove by They always said hello. If I lived in the area, this course would be near or at the top of my list.

It was an interesting process for him to get a tee time - members rule the roost at Hawk's, so you take what you can get. Thankfully, they found us a great tee time on a Friday morning - perfect. The course is fantastic. Granted, there are challenges to playing a course for the first time. You don't know where those hidden "gotchas" are. Like - hole #1. It looks like a nice, wide fairway. My drive rode down the left side of the fairway and looked to be in great shape. When you drive up, you realize at the edge of the fairway, it drops off and feeds into some wild grass. I went from "yay" to "boo" in seconds. While I was able to find my ball and hit onto the green from there, I think I could have done better off the tee knowing what was up ahead. But I digress... The entire course has character. Many courses have a few signature holes that everyone remembers while we forget the 14 other drab "straight and boring" holes. But not this course. There is character galore here! I'm not a big fan of courses that have houses along the fairways, but it's not a big problem here. They're only in range if have a terrible hook or slice. While I can slice with the best of them (and did a couple times), I only ended up in one yard (and barely). Some of the houses are pretty impressive and add to the experience. If you insist on a woodsy, all-nature golfing experience, this isn't your course. We didn't have any problems with friendliness - not from other golfers (members) or the staff. Everyone was quite nice and the smiles were out everywhere. I can't afford to golf here often, but if I could, I'd love to.

The location is nice, right in town and convenient to all the businesses around it. The design is okay. It's great for struggling hitters, as an errant slice or hook won't be lost in a woods (for the most part) - you just take your next shot from the neighboring hole's fairway. So, if you're struggling with your game, this is a nice course to work on your craft. You won't find the exotic, scenic holes of the Dells courses - this is a pretty basic course in a convenient location. This isn't the first course I'll choose to go to, but if there's a decent deal and it's convenient, I'll hit this with no problem.

I attended a wonderful wedding last night at the only barn wedding facility in the state. Women…read morewore dresses, skirts and pant outfits. Men wore suits, business casual and jeans. The barn was nice and clean. They have beautiful bathrooms. The wedding ceremony was at 500pm in front of the oldest hickory tree in the county. They set up 200 chairs with an aisle down the middle for the wedding party to enter. The property has a nice area to take pictures and enjoy and outdoor pre-reception. Our reception was inside the barn we ate comfortably and heard bride and groom stories, prayer, a charge from the father of the bride. Dinner was catered by Thunder Bay Grill. The wedding party DJ played nice taped music during the dinner. Dessert was a cheesecake. At the end of the reception we launched balloons with lights in them sending off in the air on a new adventure, just like the bride and groom. A beautiful night. I highly recommend this facility.

I understand they were probably short staffed but for me to constantly follow up and call the front desk a few times, I felt like I was bothering them. I asked if they had slippers and I called twice they said they would let me know but never did. I asked for toilet paper and they said 15-20 mins someone will come and bring some but it took them over 2 hours. It was after I called them to follow up on it. Their complimentary breakfast was good. They had waffles, omelettes, fruit, cereal and milk. I wish they would consider choices for vegetarian/vegan,and lactose intolerant guests. The shuttle drivers were very friendly and accommodating. They have shuttle services to and from restaurants within the area just so long as you schedule them before 6 and 7 pm. And shuttles service to and from Dane Airport in Madison. The front desk staff as well as housekeeping were all very friendly and accommodating as well. The lobby and dining area was very nice and homey as well as clean and sanitized for Covid precautions. My room was very nice and comfortable. I liked my room. I had the 2 queen bed suite. Although I wished they gave me a good view instead of the back parking lot. The bathroom was clean in my room and had nice fluffy towels. The price I paid for my 10 day extended stay was reasonably priced and worth the money. I like Madison/Verona, WI and this hotel. I will definitely come back and stay here again and suggest this hotel to my family and friends if they are in the Madison and Verona area. Recommendations: I'd recommend including TVs with the ability to cast for those who prefer to stream instead of watching live TV. Also a small snack stall or store; the vending machine was empty when we were there.
